You may, but be wary as you may need to alter your post after to match up with some action in the placeholder posts. (Just keep an eye on them).

Will do. I have my backstory all ready for whenever it needs to be posted. I'll keep vigilant, and follow the story every day.
Thanks, that gives me hope.
If you could PM me the backstory and character idea now that'd actually be best. That way we can at least try and determine a way for you to enter the storyline that makes sense.
PM sent. I'm so psyched already! I've even almost finished my own artwork for the character. And sorry for two PM's, my character has a pretty important, and long, history.
I didn't include how he met up with the mercs, because that hasn't happened yet. Let me know what you think.
I know that I might have to edit my post to move along with any new information that is revealed by the two place holders, which I'm alright with doing that, but I wanted to post it so that Jethera could use his tomes and knowledge equally outside the battlefield as well an in the battlefield (which we havent seen yet :(). Do time, and we'll get to see the power of the Archivist.
Okay, I'm going to admit that I am very confused with what is going on right now and I'm not very sure how to appropriately reply or on what subjects. Jetrall, where are your characters right now and what are they doing, and what is everyone else getting at? There's a lot of people just talking about random things (not that I have an issue with that, but, like I said, I'm kind of confused).
Is there still supposed to be fighting going on outside? Is this place we're all at in the middle of the battle field?
Okay guys. I feel lilke we're having some communication issues here...
Our Location: Middle of a field, miles away from any village, houses, etc
The battle is over. It has been won in our favour against the supposed 'militia' of Riddian. We were fighting against them after being contracted by another village, Tappas. They were a much weaker force than we were expecting them to be.
Jamis was injured and is lying on the field.
Buliwyf is injured and is in the medical tent.
Some of the others are off doing their own thing on the field, some are gathered around Jamis, and some are gathered around a fire that's been lit.
Dauroth, I had to delete your post as it does not mesh with the current storyline either. We are not fighting in the village. There are no houses nearby. We were out in the middle of a big field surrounded by trees. The battle was set to happen there ahead of time, so as to avoid the destruction of either village or the death of innocents. Only combatants were to come.
Also, would it be good practice to edit your post if it refers to another character's position but between your post and that particular writer's last post, that writer did one of those "reserve" things, and then later edited it to show that he/she has done something else? As in, to keep everything consistent?
Problem - we did not slay any women or children. This was a battle. We were not attacking the village. ONLY COMBATANTS WERE THERE.
I really can't make this any clearer, folks. It's not an "oh god, we slaughtered a village" kind of moment, it's an "oh, that was surprisingly easy" kind of moment.
I just went of the thought that there we at least children there since others metioned children and you didnt say anything then, i'll change it to exclude them
I have edited eldermoon's on his behalf to reflect a young unprepared soldier compared to the boy previously mentioned.
I do not meant this in any disrespect to jetrall of elfen but some extra clarity in your posts would be greatly appreciated since you guys are the ones leading the way. We can not be expected to participate fairly if our ideas are incorrect to the story even though this information is not told to us.
Of course, we could easily say have patience and wait for the information but 1.)these were mini details added in some posts as "extra" dialogue that contradict the story and 2.)we are allowed to post more than the moderators and we can not be expected to know what we do not know.
I am still very excited for this rp but some flexibilty, creativity, and information are needed.

I saw no rule saying if the moderators only post so many than we can only post so many. As long as we only post three times a day we are within the rules and on a general basis so far, jetrall and elfen have not posted three times a day.

I have to agree with Scyber. Like he said, I'm not trying to be mean, but sometimes it does get confusing on what is going on. That may be because of what was happening earlier with people posting a question and not waiting for an answer, but I don't really know. But when it does get confusing I prefer not to post until I understand what is going on clearly to not make it even more confusing.
I do think that when Jetrall went into the OOC discussion thread and posted the details, it was very plain and that was perfect. Rather than posting what's going on in the actually story thread and having to make it RP like so ithat everything fits, I think that you should just post the simple flat out details on our situation (ie. Location, who is hurt, etc, basically what you did in the OOC thread). Just because sometimes it can be harder to understand what is actually going on and where we are if it's posted in the story thread, which then has the fit the RP standards.
An example would be, before we go into a battle, city, whatever you just post in the OOC thread the location, time of day, the name of battle/city/whatever, and any other significant info that would help understand our situation.
I think the real issue here is that there is just a ton of people in this RP. Just my opinion. It seems to make it difficult for people to all focus mainly on one aspect and then it snowballs.
The information he keeps repeating over and over again, that we're on a battle field (as typed in the OP of the story thread, the Field of Phillipassus) shows that we are not in a village of any kind, so there should be no need for anyone to see or kill children (it's outside both of the towns), see buildings anywhere in close proximity (it's a field), or any other oddity that does not belong.
Also, he and Elfen are the workers of this RP which you signed up for, and as such, they have the ability and privilege to pretty much do whatever they want within the RP.
Moreover, I'm not seeing what you're talking about with you not being allowed to post the same as everyone else or somesuch. After the rule was laid down here:
Quote from Elfen Lied »
After some review we have decided to impose a slight restriction.
Each person can only post up to 3 times per day.
While the level of activity is greatly welcomed, the amount of posts from each player is leading to complications with progression. In other words, its getting too hard to understand what is going on. It is starting to go off in several tangents, and this is causing problems.
So in order to remedy this, we will be imposing this rule.
It was not contradicted again in any of the following posts of the OOC thread to the nature you are describing, or at least the nature I'm reading in to here.
But when it does get confusing I prefer not to post until I understand what is going on clearly to not make it even more confusing.
Yes, that was the issue I was facing. What helped was just going back the the basics and understanding the very minimalistic list of things going on at the time and only commenting on those. People have been adding a lot of extra fluff and its starting to blur everything, something that seems fairly hard with as many people as are involved, not to say that it is impossible.
This whole system worked fine in Elfen Lied's older RP's, and I don't see why it isn't working now, except that we have a lot more participators all posting immediately after one another while what's really going on with the story is fading in to the background.
I'm not the RP leader, but that is my input and advice.
It does seem that a lot of people are adding other 'fluff' to the story line which can make it confusing, but isn't a terrible thing and could actually help the story line not seem so dull. Like you were saying, Seth, I also went back to the basics of the story. I tried to limit my own confusion by not responding to the extra 'fluff' or at least only respond to a minimal ammount of it. Rather, I would just respond to the major parts of the story line, like Jamis' situation and everyone meeting around him.
I saw that we were finishing a battle in the Field of Phillipassus, but I didn't know how far away we were. At first I thought that we were just on the outskirts of the town and that we were fighting villagers that were coming out of the town to fight us off. And again, I limited my own confusion by 'showing up late' to the battle. As we went on, it became more apparent that we were not close to any town and just in a field far away.
I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I have been able to follow the story easily. It was a big battle on an open plain, and during the heat of battle the mercs were seperated. Basically everyone has been injured in some way or another, but Jamis and Buliwyf seem to have taken the worst of it. Buliwyf had a medic patch him up, and Jamis patched himself. Then everybody began searching the dead for treasures. Finally, after most everyone was satisfied, they made their way back to the wagons, where a fire was started. An insane WD started telling stories to the mercs, and laughing hysterically at his own jokes, as would be expected. And thats about the jist of it.
I think there are two main problems here. One, its that it seems that most people didn't thoroughly read every detail in Jetrall and Elfen's posts. I'm not even playing yet, and I still read their posts at least twice to make sure I got everything.
The other problem is that it seems a lot of people aren't proof reading their own posts, causing some rambling or incoherent thoughts.
You know what would be handy? A general map of the area we are going to travel in. I know you two are working hard at this right now, but I feel like that would help cement places in our memories.
Actually, this is supposed to be in Sanctuary, correct, since we're limited to Diablo characters? Where is it supposed to be, exactly?
See I was thinking that a map would really help us with understanding more about distances to places and what is actually around us, but I didn't want to put more a burden on Jetrall or Elfen
