Cant merge till quests are done. And they are almost done for Hyrule and Azshara. Amn might take longer.
But I can easily create some more content if I need to pad out a thread some more. But hopefully I won't have too.

"Ha Ha." Laughed Sir Elric. "Having orgies including goats doesn't make them possessed, simply horny... and inventive."

Well part of the purpose of this thread is to entertain, why shouldn't I be able to get a laugh out of the players?
As I told you before I am open to ideas for quests, should any of you have any. You do not have to solely just go with what I write, If you want to kick in the door of some bandit lord and give him a good thumping, I am willing to listen and probably see if I can't work it in somewhere.

You cannot play with out a character. So first you would have to make one.
Generally almost any character goes, so long as they aren't uber or godly, that will make it less fun for most. The world in which the RP thread/s are set is a sort of super conglomerate of game worlds, almost any medieval fantasy world from any game, though the primary ones as the Blizzard franchises (Diablo and Warcraft) Bioware franchises (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights), Game Workshop franchises (Warhammer), Lion's Gate franchises (Fable) and Sony franchises (Medievil).
As stated multiple times, if you have a character in say LOD you play as often, say an amazon, it is possible to "transfer" them to the RP thread. You do not have to though, you can make up an entirely new character.
Alternatively, if you have a character you have somewhat created as a on forum persona here you can use that too. To explain this further I shall use the example of myself, my on forum persona when I choose to play it, is a man that died and was brought back to live and in exchange for his soul and an eternity of servitude was granted nigh immortality, by his god or deity. Due to such an inbalancing issue, I cannot play that character, it would break the no uber/godly rule, you see.
So back to an earlier post, basically any class or character from a medieval fantasy game will do, but to better keep an eye on things and to make sure people don't uber it up (at least until endgame), I listed the worlds that it is preferable for you character to come from here http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5459.
I know not everyone is quite as learned in the ways in which people used to speak, so I am not too concerned if you do not use medieval speaking norms and conventions, but I do ask you leave out any modern ones, no chat or txt speak is to be seen.
I am not expecting you to make your character sound like he is in a shakespearean play (me doth thinkith that beith to much to expectith), but I do so hope you will try make you character sound like he is from the 13th century. At the very least all you have to do is not use shortened words like can't and don't. Using the extented form, can not and do not, is the easiest way to make a character sound like they are from a earlier period in time.
This is medieval fantasy based, and as such, it is possible for you to play as a non-human. And as we all know most non-human races speak their own language. A common example would be Elves, Tauren, Orcs and Drow. You can have portions of dialog in the native tongue of your character. An Orc for example might say "Throm'Kar" or "Zug Zug". And an Night Elf might say "Elune'adore"
That pretty much covers creation and language, now we need to cover a few very important aspects.
Namely combat. This is generally the hardest for most to do it seems, how to attack something without clicking a mouse until it breaks, lol. Like many aspects of the RP thread you will be writing what your character does or is doing. To attack you might say "Gronkar, sword in hand, sheild at the ready charged headstrong into battle." That's the easy bit. Now comes the hard bit, actually inflicting some damage. As any character is possible, therefore it stands to reason that any skill said character posesses is also possible. If a Assassin in LOD has dragon tail, then an assassin in the RP thread also has dragon tail (unless of course they are an assassin from DnD, then they do not).
Now you cannot just say Natalya used her dragon tail skill to kick the bad guy in the balls and send him halfway back to the burning hells and dealing +150% fire damage. (ok so I amped it up a bit.). You would have to describe it. Prehaps she send him flying with an explosive kick. we would know by the term explosive that it was Dragon Tail. You are writing a story, not coding a game, so you will not be writing the numbers of your damage, you would simply say whether it was large or small.
Basically you try to describe any skill your character might use or do. I believe my barbarian character once held a weapon and unleashed a flurry of multiple attacks (Double swing or frenzy) and at another point with a weapon in each hand spun his way through a group of enemies lopping limbs off (whirlwind). The other thing to remember with combat, is to actually take some damage!! Heck my barbarian is now missing an eye, been poisoned and nearly died. And Jetrall's character did die!
The second point I would like to make in regards to writing, is this, your character, like in all Role Playing games, is suppose to be you, (or prehaps to you that you see yourselve as), are you inquisitive? curious? ambitious? annoying? jokey? valiant? stoic? or do you take time to stop and smell the flowers as you pass them? This is somewhat dependant on the character you play as. Talk to other characters, got a bad feeling about the tunnel you find yourself and the group now walking down, speak up!! Is all the idling around getting on your last nerve? would you rather be sinking your axe blade into someone's face? speak up!! Your not a hireable mercenary in LOD, some emotionless zombie who only speaks when he takes damage. People are always voicing concerns about the goings on around here, the RP thread should be no different.
Another factor to consider is game mechanics and limitations. A druid in LOD cannot have more than 3 spirit wolves, 3 dire wolves 1 bear and 5 ravens. And neither can you!! If you were a druid that is. A mage or caster class from DnD cannot not have more than 5 summoned creatures. And a LOD necromancer cannot have more than one type of golem at a time. My necromancer has an Iron Golem at present, were he to "cast" clay golem or fire golem or even blood golem, he would lose his Iron Golem.
A further point about casting, in DnD spells cannot be cast without saying an incantation, as the is a (semi) game mechanic (you don't really do anything its just as your character casts he says a few words, like using up mana in LOD, can't cast spells without mana). This serves another purpose. it forces you to make your posts longer. No spam posts in here. Since even the incantations which are listed for you in the world thread, are all over 10 characters.
ANother point to consider is you are not solely limited to just your character, I do not have any Player Characters (PC). PCs are YOU!! I am every Non Player Character (NPC), but you can use them, they are listed in the characters thread if you can use them or not, but you cannot do something out of character for that person. For example if you used my dwarf, he must have his accent if he speaks.
I am also every Non playable Character (NPC), bosses, bad guys, monsters, basically anyone you fight.
Seems like a lot of rules I know, but try have fun aways. I am contactable on MSN/AIM/Xfire should you have further questions.
I hope to see you join us soon.

Woo, I finally posted in the Kalimdor thread. Sorry for the blue text though. I had to use it because I typed it up in word and came out as black when I copied and pasted it. I chose to change it to blue because thats the only colour that shows up in both the old and new site skins.
If you copy some text in this colour to word, you can work it so all the text is in this colour. But yeah it's cool.

Yeah. Some weird issue with the different layouts and how text doesn't auto default. I didn't know anyone uses an older one that carbonfibre still so I didn't look into it much. But that is in the past. I want to concertrated on the future, or prehaps the here and now for the mean time. Seems like it's back to just me again.

We are fighting several fallen Paladins. Or we were, this thing has sort of gone into hiatus lately, I hope it doesn't die completely, but a break might be fine.
If you want to post more great. I'll try keep it going. But to answer your question right now we are fighting some guys.

Thanks for posting Stormcat. It has been a long time since anyone posted last, wasn't sure if anyone still wanted to play.
Just about at the point where I feel we need to take stock and find out if it's worth carrying on with the current one, or make a new one. I don't mind too much either way. So long as a good number of people play. AND FOLLOW THE DAMN RULES. Why is it so hard for some people? I know you guys play the games set in the worlds this RPG is based on, so why is it so hard to make a character that is within the specifications of the rules. You can't be a half demon/half human in Diablo. Same logic applies here.
Just because it's an RPG doesn't mean you can make up anything you want. You can't even do that in Dungeons and Dragons, a game where you have almost unlimited ability to customise your character. You still have to pick a class and race from the list provided to you.
So carry on or new one?

That would be up to whoever runs the new one. I never expressed the fact I would do it. If I did, I would update the world info thread yes.
