It's says in my Journal I've caught 128 Fish.
5 Gold Fish. I have no idea what they sell for.. in the past 3 hours I've only been to town once. I send my pet to sell them.
I could catch fish in the demo.
Although, what you catch is restricted. I think you can only catch a handful of basic fish types.
Also, the farther along you get in the game the better the fish are.
Sometimes you can get socketables and useful items.
So, it's not only to get pet food items.
I've gotten several set items from fishing.
JAMOOSE- You can turn your pet into sevral different creatures that do better damage.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
The core aspects of the gameplay that have been streamlined are truly welcome additions to the Diablo formula. Yes, I wish I could show my loot off via an online co-op mode. But YES, I will still play this game for hours anyways. It is extremely addictive and fun. For your $20, you will easily have fun for 10 solid hours... and I will likely spend more like 30 playing it.
There are definitely some complaints to be had with the graphics if you're comparing them to what we've all seen of D3. This is not Diablo3.
Aside from the obvious core aspects that Torchlight has taken from the Diablo formula, the most notable for me is the MUSIC. The graphics don't feel like Diablo at all, but the music for me is a gamechanger and sometimes... when I'm back in the town of Torchlight, it feels as though am back at the Rogue Encampment. Its worth $20 to support Uelmen's great work alone. This guy's efforts will definitely be missed in Diablo3.
I first leveled a Destroyer. And I will say that, early on in the game, the skill tree that Runic has come up with here feels a bit off. Very curious to see how it compares to the Barb tree in Diablo3. After I've had the chance to level all 3 classes past lvl 20 I may have to come back to reviewing the skilltree stuff.
For now though, it's a damn fun game that I will spend hours messing with. Very easy to recommend for only $20.
Equinox, are you sure you are fishing right? You have to click the hook circle button when the circle around it is like near it... how can i explain that ummm, i hope you know what i mean.
oooh... lol, I was just clicking the button since I thought it's automatic. I'll try to pay attention to that next time...
I downloaded the respec mod, it costs 2700 to buy a respec potion. But its totally worth it
Heres a short low quality video of me in action, its the second level of the endless dungeon. level 35 monsters, look at their hp bars and how they go down as i slice and dice they asses xD
Ive bought the game the day it was released . At first this game is very addictive ( feels when you played d2 for the first time ) .The graphics are nice , feels a little kiddy but it's okay. The music is awesome reminds me of diablo 1 ( maybe a little too Gothic for a game like this ) .There a couple of good points in this game , and sadly maybe too many deceiving points ....
Good points
Pets
good idea there with introducing a pet that follows you.It can also learn spells and go back to town when is inventory is full.Good concept but quite useless since you always need to go back to town to complete quest
Action
the action is awesome , so many monsters , explosions and it's also quite fast paced
Environment
It doesn't get as creepy or Gothic as Diablo , but it's still nice the ambiance feels really dark even though the colors are bright
Mods
This will prolly save the game , the modding aspect of the game i hope will be very important to add a lot of features to the game. The editor seems also quite easy to use
Shared Stash
there is a shared stash where all of your char can put/take items in it.It's quite useful to share some good uniques or to complete a set
Heirloom items
you can pass items to your next char when you retire a character when you kill the end boss . It adds better stats to the items.
Enchanting
This is a very great aspect of the game you can enchant any items for gold , it makes the gold useful for something .And makes magical items with a greater potential ( sometime can be better then uniques )
Now the bad points of the game
Quests
There is no special quests , they are all the same kill that boss , go down to the next level , kill an other boss , go to the next level , bring an item back to town , kill final boss and congrats you've made it !!!Very disappointed there is no special quests and also the rewards are always all the same things .Either experience points fame points or crappy items.
Fame
Fame is just useless yo get fame by killing monster and super monsters , when u reach a new fame level you get a new skill ability ( like when u level up ) and you also get a new title , but that's it there is no specific use of fame sadly
Re-playability
Some will say that this game offers a lot of re-playability because of the endless dungeon ,But you can finish the story mode in less then 10 hours and reaching level 30 to kill the final boss ( and there is no teleport here ;P) After that your hero become useless unless you want to go down the infinite dungeon of boringness and smash creatures over and over , and finding items that wont be useful until level 30+.There is nothing exciting to do when you passed killing Ordrak other then making a new char at a harder difficulty
Identifying scrolls
A majority of items you will be finding will be unidentified. You will have to buy scrolls and identify them one per one , there is no scroll or any NPC that will identify all items at once ..
Diversity
There is also only one city in the game witch is Torchlight itself , it could had been very nice if they added some kind of underground town a couple levels under torchlight. And also some different dungeons.
Fishing
Fishing is just plain boring , when I'm chasing down monsters and killing creatures , i just don't really want to take a break to fish i rather charge kill more things and complete my quests
The game feels like if it was a Demo of a 2009 version of Diablo2.It's a good game but it feels like if it was unfinished and left for modders to complete. If i had the choice i wouldn't re-buy the game i would just wait to see if modders can come up with something playable.I've bought this game to wait for the 1.13 patch and Diablo 3 , but after 15 hours and killing ordrak i just don't find interest in this game anymore
My char is a retired 43 Vanquisher in Normal difficulty

Yeah currently there's a 2% chance that your enchanting will fail and you'll lose all magic properties. I'm trying to edit that file so I can make a mod that removes this problem.
Gambling with unique/set items already costs a ton, I'd rather not pay 29k gold to lose all my items stats.

Well, maybe not in LOVE... but you know what I mean. lol
I'll think about this game until Friday and maybe buy it then, play something on the weekend...
Anyone has experiences with Google checkout?

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
I dont gamble, but i use the enchant system though... I think it works best on Rare items.
The online unlock thing probably means no Linux, though... for now, anyway.
