Thats obviously a little old. Playstation 2? Xbox? Seriously, if they were going to pick it up again they would tailor it to the newer consoles.
Which they've thought about doing... yet I'm sure they haven't gotten down to yet. They don't really care about it at this point, so either they'll forget about it later on, until they come to the point where they'll say "You know what? Screw this.", or they've already chosen to screw it all together, and haven't bothered with the announcement until they feel it actually matters to make it official that it's canceled.

Hate to sound pessimistic, but I'm pretty shure they're already passed the "Screw this," stage and more onto the "Never think about Starcraft Ghost again" stage.
I'd actually be happier if it wasn't one of the 3 projects. Think about it, the game looked like it seriously sucked a big one; and, it'd raise the odds of the 3 projects being 'Diablo 3', 'WoS', and 'StarCraft 2'. If Ghost was to come out, what would it be? 'WoS', 'StarCraft 2', and 'Ghost'?
Wait! No diablo3! Oh noes!
Then again, they've already announced ghost and displayed it at at least 3 E3s, so I'd say announcing ghost wouldn't qualify as an 'announcement'. In that sense, the 3 games are NOT going to include ghost, even if ghost were to ever be released, which looks unlikely. Blizz tends to scrap material that aint top quality.
Yeah that's true about Blizzard's standard of quality. Personally I thought Warcraft Adventures looked like a really fun game. But that game was scrapped mainly cause it wasn't meeting their quality standards. It's actually a very honorable thing to do for a game, even though we as fans probably wouldn't mind playing it.
My impression of Ghost from the beginning was that the timing seemed strange for it. Especially for the kind of graphics it was displaying. As far as the gameplay, the trailers didn't seem to do it that much justice. And it kind of looked boring. However, I think if you're interested in games like Splinter Cell, this seemed like a good game for you.
As for the character Nova, and I know I've already discussed it in this thread, but she seemed too soft and pretty. I imagine the extensive training and the use of their psychic inhibitors would wreak havoc on a Ghost's appearance. And Kerrigan was a great example of this. Sure, she was mildly attractive, but at the same time she had a look on her face like when presidential candidates campaign heavily and then loose and they look all spent. I liked how Kerrigan was (pre-Zerg, obviously) level-headed, sensible, and cynical.
I understand that we didn't really know much about Nova. But I didn't like how she just appeared as some female James Bondish caricature with her elegant looks.
I also understand that I'm focusing a lot merely on her appearances but it seems to go a long way with Blizzard games and their character development.
Consider Arthus from Warcraft 3. Obviously he's supposed to be this sort of handsome and charming prince, but just look at him on the cover of the box: he appears kinda ugly and dirty, doesn't he? And that just seems realistic that he would be scarred and rugged cause he lives under the type of conditions that would make a person look that way after years of that kind of life.
So, back to a Ghost. When you read about them in the Starcraft manual, it doesn't exactly seem like they have a pleasant life even though their status and value as agents is very high. As children if they exhibit psychic abilities, they're taken by the government at a very early age, implanted with inhibitors and trained to become lethal instruments of death. So you would expect a life of that to really show in their asthetics.

Please excuse the double post, but I didn't know how to edit and then put the quote in.
It's important to keep in mind that they'll start marketing and advertising games even if they're not finished. Cause Warcraft Adventures was being marketed all like it was this game that was totally gonna be released soon. One Blizzard game, and maybe someone can help me out with this, actually provides a trailer for it on the start up screen. But in the end, Blizzard proved that can still mean nothing.
The appearance of Nova in that image is way to barbyish (even with the cinematics... she merely has a 'toughy', 'blown-out', 'minorly grim' look, nothing more... this girl is supposed to be a fuggin' killing machine, and yet she looks like some young-teenage role model, backed by the motto of 'try hard and you can accomplish anything!' (none of which is fully true). I find it hard to explain, but Sia made it obvious. In the book, she mentioned again and again that she wanted to die... I'd see her more as a rough, very awkward (as in un-typical... very much like human-Kerrigan), intelligent, calculating girl; yet 'cute' in a 'warrior' 'Arlene Sanders' theme (Arlene Sanders = bad ass woman in the Doom Novels, with a light, like-able personality, who doesn't mind being called a 'man'). The femme-fatale look isn't revealed very well at all. And I always imagined Nova as the kinda girl who hangs out with the guys (who cares if she was on a dropship in the damn cinematic, guys). She also needs the 'secretive' look, that Kerrigan always put out, socially, or even physically. She looks too bold and confident; which also means arrogance and a very unlikeable personality, for anyone (the only reason Fagin or anyone else hated her in the book is because she kept saying and revealing shit... not because she's a stuck up beauty pagent goer).
The book didn't give her nearly as much uniqueness as Kerrigan in human form, and I would've imagined her to look less childish, modelly, etc.
Less barbie, less Milla Jovovich, more secretive/alone Kerrigan/Arlene Sanders personality. I don't mind a vaguely Laura Croft personality (then again, that'd just be cheap). Level-headed, cynical, etc. Those are the kinds of traits (already mentioned) that I'd expect from Nova, too.
Bah, I'm rambling here. My mind feels too dull right now to string together a piece of writing that's mechanical and easy enough on the eyes.
And once again, I agree. Looks mean alot to any Blizzard game.
Have you ever noticed how boring Kerrigan actually becomes as a character once she's infested? She just becomes all, "I'm gonna kill you. I'm the queen bitch of the universe. I'm evil and annoying in the worst sarcastic way ever."
For the most part I agree with you, SolidS. I like heroines that are tough and calculating, but they also appear to have weaknesses and emotion. Uma Thurman in Kill Bill is kind of a good example. She's obviously a badass, but she also has real issues and a past that makes her motives real and less contrived.
I don't think a Ghost would necessarily need motives other than they were trained a certain way. But you just gotta reveal the humanistic characteristics of any fictional character. Otherwise, you just think, why do we even care what happens to this person.
Zeratul and Artanis kind of bugged me in Brood War. Because they just became so naive (and I know the Protoss' biggest weakness is how stubborn and stalwart they are) that they just believed everything Kerrigan told them. I'm thinking to Zeratul, "Dude, you're like 800 or so years old. You are supposed to be a headstrong rebel who thinks for yourself." But instead Zeratul is more like, "Really, Kerrigan? We should help you cause you insist that the UED is our common enemy and will kill us all? Okey dokey then!"
And in that campaign Aldaris (who in the end appears to be the one who gets it) says to everyone else, "Uh, she's a Zerg? She's killed tons of our people. Why are we trusting her?" Unfortunately he also had to say he was betraying them because he still felt it was a mistake to collaborate with the Dark Templar. And this reasoning managed to make him one dimensional all over again.
Sorry to get off topic. I guess I should start a new Brood War conjecture thread or something.
Great post there Siaynoq. While I'm staying off topic in saying this, I have to say that I liked Artanis, even though he was kind of, well, stupid in listening to Kerrigan. He just seemed to be the young, naive warrior who, as Dax from Star Wars said "[Felt] like [he] could take on the whole Empire myself".
Ultimately, this attitude lead to problems.
But yeah, agree on pretty much everything else.

I hope this can be proved false, but meh.
I'd be more excited for D3 or Sc2 anyway.
And the 'screw this' stage, can also be defined as the point where they can safely say "We aint makin' it, bitch. Run along and play WoW, now."
