Finally he is putting out some stuff that isn't mediocre. He fell off on his last two albums.
But this, this is amazing.
It's as if I'm hearing him for the first time.
In terms of mainstream...Eminem has been non-existent. We have had to endure some pretty bad stuff for a while.
Honestly I now realize I was lowering my standards and listening to just about anything.
But once I heard this album I remembered what it was like to hear a NEW album that sounded amazing. An album that was so...inspiring.
You can tell that he pored his entire self into this album. He even sounds different to embody that side of him that he digs up that is so different from anything else.
His last two albums were stale, but he finally found that thing that made him unique.
I can't believe I was starting to think a guy like Lil Wayne was actually pretty good. In comparison to this new album, Lil Wayne's stuff just sounds lame and...artificial.
One of the coolest things about the album is just how incredibly dark it is. He can truly hold the title of "artist". As a lyricist he creates such incredibly vivd and dark images.
I suggest any fans of his older music to go out and pic this up. The album is FRESH.

What?!?! How?? I'll admit a few tracks are throw away. But the goods are there. If you can't see the clear difference between this and his other stuff from 04 then you must not be listening.
Maybe its the new voice that turns people off. But thats him being completely different. He is crazy and it sounds like it too. I think his tracks are ill.
Don't know what planet your on.

I dont like how he makes his voice like squeeky and shit... like in 3 am? "Its 3 EEE EEM in the morning"
Some shit like this... Oh and some of the songs are total trash, but some sound pretty decent after first listening to them.
De ja vu
must be the Ganja
Underground
My mom grows on you
hello
bagpipes from baghdad
medicine ball is FIRE
Insane is good too
Those songs listed are SICK.
If you can get past the voice thing and listen to it the shit is amazing.

Might sound like blasphemy but..I don't really like that song
For some reason it just doesn't appeal to me.
I have nothing specific against it or anything...I just don't like it that much.

He's right though in that you shouldn't let what a critic says deter you from liking it or influencing how you perceive it.

I don't care what critics think. I never said I did. What I did say is that I live in a world where a majority of critics didn't like it. I had it a few weeks before it hit, and it's not good. Not a single song makes me want to listen to it again.

Then why even make a comment about critics?

obv hasnt listened to it... and you couldnt have had it a few weeks prior because only em and dre had a copy up until a week and ahalf before release which is when it actually started gettin spread out online... and if the critics arent influencing you then why mention them? listen before you state.
Don't argue with me. Few weeks is a generalization. And I've listened to it. Before you, before everyone on here.
Now just shut your trap before you get yourself in too deep.
Officially defensive. You lose.
