I literally loled with the title XDD
No the first line of my post says that i wasn't planning to right the wrongs in this topic cause i don't feel like it.
So i just said a couple of things on topic
Still starcraft 2 and over 200 fps
What testing methodology did you use? Run the game in 1vs1 for 5 secs while having a CC and 5 scvs on screen?
We agree on the rest
Dude, he's just excited about getting a new computer, give him a break.
Hey, everyone let's pull him down on a web forum. I never understood the gratification in that?

im not talking like during crazy fights n 4v4 obviously. i still get like 40-50+ fps during that though. during custom games i was playing like tower defense type games, when i first installed everything i glanced at my frames n saw 206 and was like woah in "gem tower defense" i think its called. there was a few units attacking n stuff going on but nothing crazy.

well thanks man. i was really excited to get it and use it and see how powerful it was. not trying to claim its so superior to anyone elses. just that its a great system for how cheap it was to build. but some people always find things to argue about. lol

I'm jelly of your SSD =D gonna have to get me one just to put my OS on
ya i really wanted to try one out but their stupid expensive. 300g SSD is like 500-600 bux so i was like... ya.. just want enough space for my OS, few games n programs and a little cushion then dump everything to a shitty slow HD that is just for space. its working pretty awesomely. WoW installed in like 4 seconds? although the initial installation for WoW is quite small. and starcraft2 only took like less then a minute. the write speeds are insane compared to the 7200 RPM ones.

@hifiboy first of all i'm not trying to pull down anyone,in fact my rig is worse than WHHB's specwise so that's that
@WishedHeHadBeta As i've already stated a couple of times you have a VERY SOLID gaming rig,i just stated the obvious in my posts
Again i wasn't trying to be rude or anything congrats on your PC and all that.
P.s I see that you think that i have sth against you,we can resolve that via pm if you want.
no no i dont have anything against you. i /facepalmed when i fell for one of your sarcastic posts and got butt hurt but its all good man. lol
but on the other hand if your going to come into a thread and say "a lot of wrong information" its kinda sucky to just say that and not elaborate. i mean if something here is wrong ID sure like to know. i know theres a lot i dont know about computers so im always up for learning new stuff about them.

The reason why i didn't elaborate is because this info got edited in several posts in page#1
Nothing that you said tho
The only thing that was a bit misleading in one of your posts was the 200+fps in SC2 without you mentioning what kind of benchmarking method you used
P.s If you want you can add me in SC2 so we can play in a few days(after i've finished upgrading that is )
well im kind of a noob at the regular games. i really like playing all of the custom games lol.

Summon and kill...Summon and kill
It's really fun if you try it
I generally like td games but haven't really tried any in SC2
ya in WC3 tower defense games were awesome. but i havent seen many well-made TD's in SC2 sadly. and that stupid "popularity" system is really lame. Gem tower defense is made from Wc3 and its pretty good. you played vampirism or island defense? essentially the same thing just different themes.

No I haven't tried vampirism or island defense
I didn't explore all kinds of maps in the game yet
island defense is like the 4th most popular game under "custom".
you start the game and someone is randomly selected to be the "titan" and then everyoen else picks a certain type of builder and runs/hides builds a base n builds defenses while running from the titan (unless your base is strong enough to kill him). sucks for titan, not many people like being it. its like tag lol. and if the titan kills you , you turn into one of his minions and help kill everyone else. vampirism is the same thing only the titan is a "vampire" lol. its a lot of fun and gets intense sometimes running around dodging him

do not. i repeat. do NOT buy a pre-built computer!!!!
I couldn't agree more and here's why. I head up the IT department at where I work, we have an account with Dell and a great relationship with them because we spend a shitload of money with Dell each year for most of our needs. The relationship makes sense when you are buying thousands of computers, plus we need service level agreements (SLA's) for audits we undergo. As a result we have the maximum 35% discount on all their products, that's as good as it gets with Dell when you spend millions with them.
So when the time came for me to get my new home system I thought I would quote out the specs on our corporate account for what I wanted for home. I thought given that purchasing power advantage I might possibly get a good machine for less than what I could build for myself and save some time and effort on top of it. I called our rep (nice guy BTW) who went to bat for me and even got me an additional 5% off the price of my home system, a whopping 40% discount!
Then I went to Fry's Electronics and priced out all the components for a good build-it-yourself PC.
Installed: 3/9/2011 12:02:28 AM
OS
Windows 7 Professional (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601)
Video card and Monitor
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 [Display adapter]
Samsung SyncMaster [Monitor]
This was all for about $1,300 out the door at Fry's, I sent over the specs to Dell to see if they could match or beat it with those awesome corporate discounts. In the end Fry's still had Dell beat by $300. If that isn't proof building your own system for home is the best way to go, I don't what is.
Well here at least.
I don't know if it's related with the whole Thai factories setback and i don't really think so
but y stores have higher prices for ssds now
No it's definitely the flooded Thai factory thing, I have servers on back order now because of that. I have even had to settle for 10/K rpm SAS drives because the 15/k drives are simply not available. SSD's have also been affected. That has really jacked up drive availability and cost.

really? what custom games do you play?
whats battlecraft?:o
woah that looks nuts. so you just summon units to overpower the other player?
i play more of the tower defense/survival type games (elemental TD, gem TD, squadron def) and island defense/vampirism .
ya in WC3 tower defense games were awesome. but i havent seen many well-made TD's in SC2 sadly. and that stupid "popularity" system is really lame. Gem tower defense is made from Wc3 and its pretty good. you played vampirism or island defense? essentially the same thing just different themes.

it was on the second page not too long ago so maybe thats why.
really? the prices were raised?

But when you start buying sub $500 machines it begins to require more effort to match the Dell price and probably isnt worth the bother.
