Meph, I'm surprised you don't want to bio-engineer a virus, bacteria, or parasite (Basically a R&D project for you.) so you could turn the entire world into your sex slave. Good thing too because I'm not letting you into my anus anytime soon.
If you take hematology, could you find a way so people who can't donate blood due to medical reasons can donate. I can't donate because I had Human Pituitary Growth hormone shots when I was five and if I donate that blood, the receiver could die.
You had the same illness as Lionel Messi? Awesome. Well, you know what I mean. I doubt anything significant could be found out by ME. I mean, Hematologists would have to study that SPECIFIC thing their entire career to come up with decent results, y'know?
Anyway, lol@when I was a kid, I really wanted to be one of those guys who wore body suits and fucked around with diseases..so I can spread it in my school and spare kids from taking exams. No I'm just really interested in blood, really curious about viruses, and generally really like immunology.
Lol, Meph, hating on me again.
Do you want to talk on MSN again?
Is the lack of my awesome voice/accent really affecting you that much?
Anyways, plans right now are to work for about a year or two, save up enough money to take a trip to somewhere in Europe, probably Ireland. If I don't have enough money left over for College/Uni at that point, work another one or two years, then head off for College/Uni. Still not sure which I'm shooting for to be honest, I've looked at their programs but I've still really gotta sit down and think about where they would take me, what pay I could expect, if I'd enjoy it in the long run, and all that shit.
Thinking of either going to become a teacher, or a doctor. I've got an 84 average coming out of high school, so hopefully those marks will be sufficient to land me a spot in wherever I choose to go to school.
If for some reason I can't get the schooling to become a doctor, I'll definitely become a nurse. In Canada right now, we're absolutely starved for medical staff. Over in Saskatchewan my Aunt knows a male nurse who makes a quarter of a million a year, shit you not. Our government is paying medical staff outrageous wages to keep them and to bring them in, we've got such a crazy shortage of them right now.
Why the fuck are YOU the one paying for your education? Don't your parents? What the fuck? Is this some "Canadian" thing? IS IT? TELL ME IT ISN'T!
I have no fucking idea. Plan was to become an "master of science in engineering", my whole mindset since junior high was pretty much something with math or physics.
Turns out that wasn't really what I wanted to do though. Next week I'm starting with economics instead, and we'll see how that goes.
id do pub health but, this is going to sound so bad, i dont give a fck about some areas of the public. like the homeless and all that stuff.
Yes it did
No it didn't. I know people who live in shit conditions, and I really don't give two shits. It's either due to their own failure in life, or due to a failure one of their ancestors had that resulted in them being fuck ups. In Africa, it's the West's fault for raping the entire continent. bla bla bla..it's so boring and bland.

So you won't be trying to cure AIDS anytime soon right??
Getting infected with HIV is almost always the fault of the person who gets infected. Interesting factoid: The chance of contracting HIV from unprotected sex is close to 1%.

If you go into Virology, I want in if you decide to develop a virus that reanimates dead tissue. Also, who the hell is Lionel Messi and I still can't donate blood. Also, I have one hell of an immune system, so if you need a sample, I'd be happy to oblige.

Do you know why you can't donate blood? It's because of CJD (or Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease). It causes neurological problems. The possibility of you having that is SOOOOOOOOO fucking unlikely, though. They can't test for it, and you may have it yet be asymptomatic, and that's why you can't donate blood. It'd take so much research, time, and resources to crack the mystery surrounding your case, which I'm sure thousands of others have, and not to be blunt, but in my opinion, it's not really worth it. Someone else in your family can donate blood if need be. Hospitals have blood units. It's nothing MAJORLY serious, really.
I'm one of those people with no plan at all. 3.9 GPA so far through high school and in my senior year now and deciding on which college to go to. I'm looking for a big-ass scholarship, but we'll see.
Why the fuck are YOU the one paying for your education? Don't your parents? What the fuck? Is this some "Canadian" thing? IS IT? TELL ME IT ISN'T!
Sadly, I'm not even sure my mother has enough money to help me pay for it.
She got off welfare about 8 or so years back, I respect her so much for not letting herself become a welfare mom after her and my dad split, she worked her ass off to be able to support us. Anyways, this has made it so she has not been able to save up money for a college fund, and I'd feel odd asking my dad for money since we are JUST starting to reconnect.
So, all things considered I'm probably going to be using my own money to fund my education. Of course there are programs to help students who need financial aid, but for the most part I'm the one who's going to be paying.

Intriguing. My friend works to pay for his own education, too. He gives his mom 400$ a month for food and household stuff (his dad is old, and can't work), keeps some for pocket money, and pays his own tuition in a relatively good university.
I'm really not sure what I would like to do yet, I have narrowed it down to two different things though
A: Go to college, and earn a Bachelor's in Political Science. After I graduate I really want to travel to Italy. Once I get back I'll go to Officer Candidate School for the Marine Corps and hopefully make it through becoming an Infantry Officer or an Artillery Officer. Do a couple tours of duty then come back to the States and get involved in politics, probably Congress...
B: Go to college and earn a Bachelor's in either Creative Writing or Journalism (most likely the latter). Go to Italy for about a year, come back to the States and go into either sports journalism, or... MUTHAFUCKIN' VIDEO GAME JOURNALISM /,,/
i want to say id like to choose a career that is fulfilling and that id enjoy, but somewhere along the line money is a big deal too.
im starting apps for med schools and grad schools now. seeking a degree in molecular cell bio.
The former part is so much more important to me than the latter. Luckily my career will more than likely have both. I like it, and it pays well.
Med school is such a turn off. All my cousins who went that route advised me against it. Not every doctor can be successful. Tons of studying, tons of effort. Really consuming. Think it over sista. Molecular Cell Biology? Are you SURE?lol
The article I read regarding CJD didn't mention that, so I wouldn't know, really.
Lol@how good I was with mechanisms and enzymes and all that in Biology and Biochemistry, but I'd get bored out of my wits after the course is over with that section.

"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
Are you going to be king of Imagination Land and have a horse named Shadowfax, too?!
I'd tell you to be serious and actually post something of relevance, but I honestly don't care anymore.
I didn't say you have it, I said they don't let you donate blood because you MIGHT have it and they don't have any way of testing for its presence.

and yes, mole cell is my favorite type of bio, i like working with enzymes and mechanisms.
and no, even if i loved teaching to death, if i only made 15k a year for it, i wouldnt do it.

well, if w/e job you wanted only paid a low amount, would you take it or do something less satisfying but at least get paid.
i <3 my enzymes. histadine is my fav AA.
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
I wouldn't know, since I've never been in that position. My job options were always either medicine, something in Biology, or Lab Medicine.
The least you can do is spell your favorite AA correctly! It's Histidine. Methionine and Tyrosine or get bent!
