The name's Zarando, call me Zara. I'm new to this site, but I haven't wasted any time in brewing up some sh*tstorm threads =D I'm a bit rough around the edges, but I'm plain and speak my mind. I'm currently enrolled in university in Toronto, Canada, and studying Politics. I've played all three of Blizzard's major IP's. My favourite game of theirs remains Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne. I played Wc3 for years and years, since Reign of Chaos beta onwards. I was part of an early WoW fansite called WoWLands, later WoWOGaming, later taken over by yet other conglomerate media companies. I was given a beta key during Family-Friends Alpha Beta, so I played the game pretty early on. I mainly played vanilla, and then I was late for BC, I skipped Wrath and when I tried Cata... I realized the game had turned into a complete grind, and I didn't have the patience, nerves or time to invest into it. I think WoW has turned into a horrible game now, the PvP is decently fun but even that, you have to play endless BG hours to achieve gear, etc... so I have no more interest in that game.
As for Starcraft, I never truly played the original. I mean I knew the units and races but I never played online properly, so when SC2 went into beta, I was lucky enough to get chosen for a spot at random. I climbed to diamond in beta and then diamond league again in 1v1 during the first 2 months of release. After, I got burnt out on the whole RTS thing and to be honest, SC2 seemed kind of easy. I know I am no pro, but it took me years to get decent at Warcraft 3 and it took me a few weeks to be able to beat some experienced players in SC2, mainly because you can attack move with a lot less micro-intensity than Warcraft 3. I like the hero dynamic of War3 and I don't like the macro-intensiveness of Starcraft II. But I do appreciate the game for its values, its dynamic and has its own flavor, it just doesn't fit my tastes. Bnet 2.0 is great, I hope the next Warcraft RTS has those great features.
Now onto Diablo. It's actually the franchise I have the least experience with. I passed the game on single player my first time through. I love the story the most in Diablo over WC or SC (and I know a great deal on the WC story, SC only through the campaigns). I played a little online with a friend who is very hardcore (he was #1 in the ladder during patch 1.10 or 11, im not sure) but I mostly enjoyed the gothic and dark feel of the series. I liked the hack'n'slash style but never became one of those true battle.net players. I disliked many of the repetitive aspects of doing "Baal runs" and such, and so when I saw the direction D3 is headed in, I decided this is a game I'm going to follow. So I'm very into the Wiki you guys are developing, and I think I might just install the game again and play through it for fun. I'm not interested in crazy items and such, but rather just playing at my own pace. Let me know if you'd care to join!
As for the things I like to do.... I don't play much games anymore. I play FIFA 11 for PS3, I play COD Black Ops on PC (Steam) and that's about it. The occasional game of Warcraft III but it's not installed on my main computer. I got a 40" Sony LCD and a pretty damn good PC ready for Diablo whenever it arrives, so that should be a nice experience. I like basketball, I like working out, I like girls butts and I am very into quantum mechanics and philosophy of science. Thats about it!

Yay!
You could always check out mods if you want to change the Diablo gameplay focus from Baalruns. There are several out there, including Eastern Sun, Median XL or Hell Unleashed.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Haha I really do wish God gave me some technical ability in mathematics... I would have loved to do physics research. Unfortunately I settle for reading these layman's books on QM and all the exciting new stuff on the horizon

I'm down. I will be in no rush to finish Diablo III, and I will be going at very much my own pace.
But I do intend to master it.
And to Ophion and Umpa, OWNED
Anyways, Hello and Welcome.
