Hey all! Since this is the introduction page, where best to introduce myself rather than here? No?
Hello I'm AnathemicOne (Well I wanted Anathemic, but it's taken sadly) and I greet you all from California of the West Coast of America! I'm an aspiring writer (hopefully getting a website up soon to post works), senior in high school (class of 2011 FTW), gamer, and a hardcore fan of Blizzard Entertainment to boot.
Warning: History of me Gaming incoming (skip down if you don't want to read)
Even though I am asian, my first game wasn't Nintendo-based, Square Enix-based, or any other Japanese game company-based; it was in fact Age of Empires II from the late Ensemble Studios (rest in peace!). From their excellent RTS I was introduced into Blizzard's own RTS of StarCraft. From there, I moved to Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction (No Hellfire sadly), StarCraft: Brood War, finally into WarCraft 3: Reign of Chaos.
From WC3, I transitioned into World of Warcraft (vanilla being the best MMO ever) and into Burning Crusade, finally into Wrath of the Lich King where I canceled my subscription due to school and the fact the MMO was going downhill, though Cataclysm atm looks promising.
So after WoW I decided to move onto simple console gaming on the 360 where I was exposed to FPS games such as the Halo series (CE still the best, though I played it on PC), Call of Duty series, etc. Console gaming ironically brought me to the great company of BioWare through Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins and I'm a huge fan of them.
However in time, I was bored and displeased with BioWare's direction of Mass Effect 2 (which I bought and was displeased) and Dragon Age, so I decided to go back on PC and look for other games, I found the game The Witcher from CDProjekt (One of the best companies ever!) and fell in love with it, and now I'm back on PC.
Warning: History of me Gaming ended
It was Blizzard Entertainment that sparked my love for creative writing, I loved the lore they put in their games and I wanted to created my own little universe. Since then I've been reading books both good and bad to improve my writing.
But anyways, Diablo was always my favorite franchise from Blizzard (coming in a second place tie beteen WarCraft and StarCraft), and I hope now that Diablo III is coming out, I will have a wonderful experience in this community and hopefully add my own creativity in here too!
The golden coast huh? nice .. You going to Blizzcon? You seem to have been around the block a bit and have not stayed in one gaming genre. That's pretty cool. Did you see the vids for the new fps coming out called " Brink " ? I've been looking at that one and it looks pretty sweet.

Heh I wish, though I gamed for quite a bit I'm more attracted to RTSs (tactical/strategy) and RPGs (lore), FPSs and other games (no offense, I still love them) are my brain-dead time where I don't have to do much and just pretty much relax.
Unfortunately I haven't seen any videos of Brink (or any updates for that matter), though I might check it out soon.
As for Blizzcon, no sadly due to school/college based stuff.
You get points for your enthusiasm. Most intro threads are almost exactly the same. But I can see you'll be a contributing member to the site. Hail Curse!

Why thank you too! =) It's good to be different, though I hope to contribute more than just being the enthusiastic person, we'll see ^^
Welcome to the forums! I considered delving headlong into the wide world of writing after high school, but I decided to take the military > college > law enforcement route. I'm currently a full-time university student and a Madden addict. Perhaps I'll go back to college after I retire from law enforcement, then become a high school English teacher. Although I can't seem to get into the Diablo lore, I look forward to reading your work.

I make sure people go to jail. The only thing more fun is Diablo 3.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
I considered writing a long intro on my introduction post but thought I would stick with the nice easy to read 'Hi There' approach... However welcome to the forums, I do a little writing myself so I am looking forward to seeing some of your work.
Lol sorry, it's this college-stigma sticking on me to act professional, yeah it's a pain.
I, as well, look forward to seeing your writings. What kind of books are you into?
And regarding the username, if you registered via Curse there is a chance that your nick is only taken there but still available here on this forum. Try going to your settings and use the Change Display Name-feature. It worked for me!
I'm into the fantasy genre mainly be it science-fiction or fantasy fiction, I've read the Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Harry Potter series, The Hobbit, almost all the WarCraft books, etc. I'm atm reading Twilight (to see what not to do in writing and plan to read LOTR trilogy + Silmarillion, A song of Fire and Ice series, The Witcher, and other fantasy books.

Cool cool. So am I. The LOTR books are a must for sure if you are into fantasy. Along with Simlarillion I also recommend to read The Book of Lost Tales 1 and 2 if you get into the Middle-earth thing. Some really good stories in there.
Other than Tolkien I really recommend my all-time-favourite author Robin Hobb (it's a pseudonym fyi). All her books are just.. awesome. Should be read in order of release to get the most out of it imo. It's quite a lot to read, but if you have time and get stuck you will blast through them :). At least that's what I did, and I've re-read them three times now. They are not really your typical fantasy-stuff, but more like a "normal" drama novel with fantasy elements added. It's definitely fantasy though, but more "mature" in lack of a better word.
Welcome to the site. I usually ignore introduction posts, but I like you. o.O I don't like many people, especially on the interwebs. Especially especially people that I disagree with on major things with. You can feel special now.

o.O Reading both Harry Potter and LotR...
Now, what is it that Spock says... Oh yea, that is illogical.
No, but seriously, stop what you are reading. Stop. STOP! Alright, now go pick up The Legend of Drizzt.
Yay I'm special! I think that's a good thing... :sorcerer:
Anyways, I've heard about the Legend of Drizzt, but not enough to take an interest in, my primary goal is to get through A Song of Fire and Ice after I read the mainstream novels for I heard that the series was one of the best and is excellent in the fantasy genre.
