whats uppp guys! i'm new to diablo and the site, its actually almost done downloading right now. i've been reading up on this game and all the different kinds of builds and stuff are confusing the hell out of me, are the different builds something i need to worry about right away or will i understand them more as i level up and just play the game more? is there leveling/gear builds i should pay attention to right away? idk, kinda confused. thanks in advance for any help
No, you don't need to worry about any builds going in. The first time you play though the campaign will be fun and easy regardless. Once you hit 70, you start looking into builds. Right now all classes have strong endgame, just some are stronger (DH) and some don't require thought or strategy (barb). And even if you want to change your class, leveling alts is much faster than the first time leveling. Going into it, I wouldn't worry about anything. Just enjoy the trip. You wouldn't know what people are talking about anyways until you have access to the majority of your skills/ruins.
indeed, just take your time finishing story mode and exploring your favourite class, once you get to 70 go to adventure mode and experiment some more, who knows you might discover a fun powerful build yourself before copying others.

Your endgame builds are, for most parts at least, tied in to sets. So when you get your first pieces of a particular set, you can work around their bonuses. Until then, use the most fun skills you find in your arsenal and forget about these things, they will come naturally and logically. I would advance further into the discussion if I knew you game status, Classic or Expansion as well. Anyway, have fun leveling and getting your first max level gear, it will all end once you are forced to do the same things most people are doing to be efficient. It will become an endless grindfest, that eventually seems more like a job than funtime. That's Diablo for you I guess...

yeah i figured that out a little bit after i made this post but thanks for the help! i made a dh played for about 4ish hours and im level 17 i believe.
DH is 1 of the hardest classes to level, if you start from nothing. There will be a point where you feel really weak, then you unlock some hatred management skills and get a lot easier. And at end game, you will feel really strong.
So, once you hit that point, don't get discouraged, just lower the difficulty and keep going
As for your time, just enjoy the trip and the story, as you will probably never return to story mode.
Also, go slow levelling the blacksmith/jeweller. it costs a lot of gold and can drain you pretty fast if you go all out. try to keep it within an area where the items you craft are within 5 levels of you and you should be fine.
When you hit max level and start running rifts don't forget to repair and repair often. Nothing sucks more than broken gear in a super-dense rift!

Good luck, happy levelling and farming.
Yeah I read a little bit about that so I won't be discouraged, thanks for the input though!
Just a tip, when you get a weapon or helmet with a socket just put your best red gem in as they provide best bonuses while leveling (don't save gems, they will be useless at near max level anyway)
