I dont believe i have seen many threads in this regard. I may do a series of wc3 threads if i can get the community to voice if they play or not. If i see interest i will follow through.
Basically this thread will be for discussion of warcraft 3 and you
To begin give a introduction for us to your wc career of havoc.

Main AKA: Umpa-ofthehorde
my other aka is much better because i made it after i learned, my original is the one i play the most, it's why the % isn't great
Percent wins: around 50% overall
other aka: 4tw.umpa
Percent wins: 60% exact i think, or at least it was last time I checked.
Race: Orc, I'm an orc player through and through but I am currently learning NE and it is very difficult trying to change how I think about WC strategy.
Everything I know about how I play the game is wrong from the standpoint of an Elf because of the play style. It is sooo hard for me to put forth the effort to wisp scout. I have trouble not making burro builds rather than moon well builds.
But i must say, MICRO wise i am adapting to elf well. I am learning their micro patterns well. For instance, i love how NE keep their archers and such spread out. I recently won a game by microing the crap out of archers by spreading them out so much that it made the other player scared to commit to one unit. And after a while i was puting out all the damage and the other put out close to none.
Realm: Azeroth
Favorite strategy: For 1v1 it would probably be wyv's and spiritwalkers with BM against NE. The key is to not let the NE know you have wyv's, avoid the NE as much as possible. When they see beastiery and a spirit lodge they automatically think raiders and walkers, but the wyvs catch them waayyy off guard. When you fight bring in peons to spirit link, keep the wyvs alive and win with some good old fashion micro. But of course the strategy is subject to change due to circumstances obviously.
For 2v2 I love being the support caster guy. Massing heal wards spirit walkers and shamans mastered is SICK. All you do is extend the game, expo, mass tower so that you have the time you need to master all three. It is a crazy strategy i dont think i would use in a game affecting my real % but i like to do it every now and then.
For 3v3, who doesnt love mass shadow hunter and ward rush? its so much fun
So, i want to see some warcraft players come out of the cracks of diablofans.com

I used to play it quite a bit. After the campaign, I would just spend time on custom maps and put all these premium items at my camp so I could easily beat the computer.
I didn't like playing against humans cause there was way too much micro involved and there's too many geek-a-nerds out there that I wouldn't even stand a chance against. But I have a lot of fun memories with the game.
If I play it now, I just cheat my way through everything. It didn't hold up for me quite as well as Starcraft did. Mostly because of all the micro though. I like it to a point, but if you're not utilizing every special ability of your race and all of its spellcasters, you're just kind of screwed. And sometimes I just like having 12 of the same units, and knowing I can do some good with them.
But without using your spellcasters to back them up, numbers count for nothing. In Starcraft, if you wanted, numbers really did count for something and you could deal with all the serious micro opponents.
i would love to help anyone interested in playing
I'll offer what knowledge i have of the game and offer the best resources for getting started.
I know what ya mean Siaynoq, thats the key difference in the two's game and players. I have yet to play starcraft but i think it would be somuch fun focusing on macro for once.
Ya, most sc players dont like the micro thing too much lol.
But for wc players it makes the sport in "e-sport"
its like, the flashy moves of a running back.
And with heroes micro is even MORE encouraged.
i think the strategy and skill it takes to actually be decent at this game is INSANE and very reawrding when you win lol.
I've been playing....what.....5 years? and im barely OK.
Oh and your best bet for a nice game of MACRO for wc3 would be to go to the online custom games and play footmen frenzy. its a fun game that uses TONS of units. its kinda like sc with heroes. You focus on the type of playstyle that sc is

used to play on W3:ROC I lost my touch on TFT.. climbed up to rank 150+ solo pre-TFT..
Main AKA: ZharTheMad
Percent wins: 85-88% can't remember but AT's and random team games increased my %
Race: UD
Realm: Lordaeron
Favorite Strategy: Spiders/Gargs/Fwyrms(if necessary..), Ghouls/Aboms/Necros/Banshees (they weren't fucked up in ROC)
I loved those buildups, and I love going against NE's
Main heroes were DK/Lich or Lich/DK/DL
whenever i see a hero Nova+Coil+focus fire of spiders = dead hero.^_^
Or nova + chase with ghouls then trap running units/heroes... I can't seem to remember my build order though..
I loved the 3v3 / 2v2 random teams... In which i'd make lots and lots of necros or any random unit and still win the game LOL.. Most of them quit when they see hordes of Undead monsters or lag till they DC..
I have always had an interest in WC3. But I never could get it down.
Maybe you could help me learn the finer points. ;D
There's no easy route, dude.. You have to play it til it hurts I had 3 accounts with less than 60% win rate but you need to play with tons of guys to get the hang of it..
A good idea though, is to practice starcraft: broodwar, coz SC2 is coming!

Bad bad memories...
SUNSHINE AND LOLLIPOPS!
Ok, all better.
Personally I always loved the Orcs. Orcs and Night Elves.
In WC3 that is. In WoW, Night Elves are worthless little...that need to die...the whole lot...
