No. Just the game. Or at least that's all I got. Saved me a hell of a lot of time downloading it on my crappy connection, though, and you don't need the disc after you load it.
well thats cool. Honestly, mine downloaded really fast.
So hammy, have you beaten the game?

No I'm just past the seals into the Estherian Ruins. I find myself picking everything up and sending it with my ferret... I'm a gold hoarder. That and I only really got to play it a lot last night since my computer's been all fritzy (you saw the thread), and when it finally got fixed I was back in to my college routine... *sigh*
Personally i think that this game is crap... i mean i finished it in like a day and then i didnt have that urge to play again... Sorry but thats just how i felt after geting my vanquisher to level 40 something... The endless dungeon is bullcrap too... I dono, maybe when they release the MMO it would be worth it.
Honestly to say that the boxed package is basic empty. I got the Disk in a paper wrapped-like sleeve. Also comes with a single sheet paper that is 3 x 5 inch, showing the "installation" step.

Ferret?!?! You can have a ferret pet?!!? How?
I'm on like floor 30. Been there for a few weeks but I've been busy. Level 29 now I believe as an alchemist. what class are you?

I have heard very little about the whole mmo thing. Most of the info I have heard has been very vague.

It has terrible skill balancing, there is only one spell you need with the alchemist, I pretty much just used the same skill from level 2 - 10( which is slightly slower level up than diablo), blowing everything up around me in one shot, ON HARD DIFFICULTY, and the other spells are pretty much useless in comparison.
It has lame diablo1 wannabe, put you to sleep acoustic guitar music.
Its hard as hell to tell what your looking at, if despite what I say you still play it, set it to notebook mode.
All of the dungeons are the same, and slow moving, there is a place where you can buy dungeon scrolls, for a 1 time deal,
I use one, it actually takes me to a place that looks cool, what happens? a monster appears right on top of me, in trying to click to attack it I clicked the stairs up thing, and left, that was it, I saw 2 seconds of a level that actually looked decent, once you use one of these scrolls and come back, you never see that dungeon again.
there is ONE good thing I can say about the entire game, and that is when you blast monsters, you can actually knock them off of ledges and stuff, thats the only redeeming feature, I am in fact downloading RS as we speak, I tried it a while back, seemed ok, level up was kind of slow after level 6 but i think it beats stupid Torchlight
oh, and there is a chic who uses guns, how lame is that? I didnt try her, but meh.
PS I know I was rather harsh just now, but if they fix the skill balancing, then it redeems it self, but I dont see that happening.
If you have the Steam version, and the game crashes on you on startup, I found a solution. This happened to me several weeks ago, and I finally figured out what it was. When using certain mods, it can cause a corruption of data being saved to the Steam Cloud. That being said...
This fix will erase your saves
Here's how to fix your game:
Make sure that there are no appendices to your game (i.e. safemode=1 and other startup "fixes" [these are located by right-clicking on the Torchlight game in your Steam window, and clicking on "Properties", and then clicking on the "Set Launch Options" button])
Start Torchlight by double-clicking on the Torchlight line in your Steam Browser.
When the window comes up saying "Your local files are different than the ones saved on the Cloud, do you want to update the Cloud files to reflect this" DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING! We will come back to that.
Open up "My Computer"
Windows 7 // Vista:
-Double click on the "C:" drive, then "Users", then <Your computer name>. Click on the address bar at the top and add to the line "AppData", (ex. C:\users\OathofChaos\AppData\ )
-Double click on Local and Delete the folder "RunicGames"
-Go back to the Torchlight Window and click "Yes"
-Boom! Working Torchlight!
Windows XP
-To be honest, I'm not exactly sure where the Steam files are saved, but you can do a search for AppData, and navigate there. The rest of the instructions are the same.
How does it work?
Essentially, what we've done is started clean slate. All files that would have normally been saved to the Cloud have been erased, thus removing everything that could've been corrupted. Now, there can be some tweaking here. You could copy the RunicGames folder somewhere else (and re-name it), then one-by-one deleting each file until you can get it working (thus determining if one specific file is the source of the corruption), but this other way is simple, and effective.

blowing everything up around me in one shot, ON HARD DIFFICULTY
I'm sorry, but that's just a complete lie.
no lie, from levels 2 - 10, on Very Hard difficulty. BOOM everything around me dead, maybe the big ogre things took a few more shots, but thats it.
There is nothing wrong with going BOOM dead, but you can spam the spell pretty easily,
( of course since everything is dead, you wont need to)
and I did try the other spells out, with multiple points each, no comparison, sorry the games not balanced.
I guess the ice spell has its perks with freeze, but thats about it.
The basic mechanics are there for a game with longevity, but the necessary balance and polish aren't. This could largely be solved with modding, but far as I've seen there has been little attempt at comprehensively addressing the issue, instead of adding random new classes and skins.
oh btw the skill im referring to, well apparently it actually sucks at higher levels, and ember bolt is much better at higher levels, which still makes it unbalanced.
having 1 skill suck at low levels, and good at high levels, and having skill 2 rock at low levels, but be completely useless at high levels doesnt make a game balanced either ^.^ sorry
plus wtf is up with attack speed? every time I use a skill it does not include attack speed, always the same no matter what weapon I use, so attack speed only means jack @#$$ when your doing a normal attack, which you wont be because you will be using skills to enhance your damage, so the whole damage per second thing doesnt mean anything
Oh, two handed weapons are pretty useless as well, every time I find a two handed weapon better than my 1 handed weapon, there is a 1 handed weapon right next to it that does the same ammount of damage, so two handed weapons have slightly better crits, big deal.
im just finding more, and more things about the game that are lame, I could even go on farther but, Ive hammered Torchlight enough I think.

The MMO version is coming with an overworld and additional characters, so I'm guessing more pets, too.
