So now when Torchlight is up and running and there's all kinds of fat loot to gorge in so why don't we take a minute and share your encounters and loot with the rest of us!
Brag about your loot and achievements, talk about awesome things and discuss the best tactics to take down that pesky boss!
Not true, all difficulties have the same drop rate/drop the same items. The only difference is how hard the game is... When you open the game data files there is a few lines that let you alter how drop rate is handled.
I counted 21 Sets, with well over 200 uniques. So there are quite a few items to find.
Have a level 30 alchemist using ember lance(nearly maxed) as primary skill...along with ember sentry and ember shield. Summons lookin really crappy so far. Maybe should invest some more points in golem. Wish there was a life bar like my pet for the minions.
The game is great. Finally stopped thinking and caring about that damn D2 patch.
Got a unique headgear...but it looks so shitty. Properties are good but my character looks like he is wearing the headpiece of one of those ancient diving suit.
Collected my 4th unique wand this morning. The latest got 493 as DPS. But am not likely going to run to bash monsters with that... Not enough health on me...
Finished game yesterday with my alchemist. Discovered some sort of weird tactic for the final boss Ordrak. It worked twice on him (had to go to town to refill potions) and I burned away half his life bar without him touching me.
So the trick: As soon as you get in the last level(35 i think), after the first set of stairs, u get a platform with a rock in the middle. Thats where i killed that guy.
So i lure Ordrak out of his chamber....up the(other) stairs...onto the platform. This will avoid the fight with some 50 or so dragons he's summoned. He'll still summon more of his pets but they are easily dealt with(Hmmm...i play on hard, so maybe it'll be different on v.hard).
Its best to kill the annoying dragons before setting him up.
Anyway, go to the south of the map, and make sure he walks toward you with the rock in the middle. Summons a golem on his right side and move a little to the right side your self. And so the big guy guy gets trapped by the golem and the rock. The best part is that he ignored the golem and tried walking towards me. For all I know he could have been moonwalking.
So I was there burning him with ember lance while my golem and my pet were happily bashing him....with Ordrak walking on the spot.
PS- I use elemental overload spell for some addtional damage + the frailty aura skill the alchemist has.
PPS- Would love to know how you killed him with other classes or otherwise an alchemist using another primary skill other than ember lance.:D
