Hehe thanks... this is actually true about so many games. I would actually love to "un-read" so many books. Or un-watch movies. How awesome would that be, to watch Sixth Sense a hundred times? ;-)
I'm at ~25 hours now and went to hell yesterday; got about 30 defense, a nice Blood Butcherer and max HP/mana. So I guess I'm not totally noob anymore and beyond some of the exploration - also have to admit that I just had to look up some stuff at the wiki. But it's still awesome. Moving my "homeland" now from my small initial level that I explored quite extensively to a new, large world with a big badass castle. Gotta farm some stone now ;-)
I have seen the lava traps in maka's game, but no idea how to build them. But I'll save that for later - there's still more than enough stuff to do now!
I have a ton of hours in the game. Love it but haven't played in a while. I managed to craft everything (back when I played, not sure of the new stuff since I haven't really played since the beginning of the year). Made a trap area for doing the different monster waves and bosses. I'd definitely join you guys to run around in and give some tips too. When you start finding the different items you can combine a lot like the balloon + horse shoe etc
The lava walkers are almost mandatory for lowest levels.
Be careful once you hit the bottom. You can tell when the whole bottom is nothing but lava pretty much. There are these flying demons that sometimes carry a little doll. If you kill one and the doll falls into the lava it will spawn the wall of flesh, which is required to turn the world into hardmode and significantly more difficult. But it allows you to summon new bosses for more phat loots!
My Steam name is Dr. Sad Face so add me! Here is my awesome trap area I made. Also, I wired up most of my main map with teleporters so I can travel quickly to different sides of the map or down to the bottom. Took effing forever to lay all the wire out!
Yeah, the thread title isn't true anymore, I have A TON of hours in Terraria as well. Have absolutely every item (multiple of them) and build several home bases, farms, liquid generators, different arenas for all the events, and yeah - also wired up everything.
Small advice for your trap area: remove the lava. Mobs have an internal cooldown that will be triggered by lava, and it will prevent mobs from taking (some) damage from the other traps. You also want to be able to shoot monsters down there for the Frost moon event (especially with North Pole, which is an insanely strong weapon).
My steam name is the same as my account name here - feel free to add me. I'm not sure if I'll play before 1.3, but it would sure be nice to get some more people on the list. We actually thought about starting a new DFans game in the not too distant future (I host Terraria maps on my server).
