Yesterday I logged into GW2 for the first time in 5 or so months, and tbh, i think it's an amazing game!
Fun, hard, fast-phased and some fights are real brain melters!
But something is missing.
I know the the real "end-game" isnt there. But that is not the issue for me. I have since 2010, when i acculy stop hardcore raiding in wow (raided since moltencore) slowed down my gaming abit. To a more casual level in pretty much every game i play.
I know that one reason why i quit was that the learning curve in GW2 is CRAZY! (imo atleast).
I never understood (and still dont) what currency is used for what, and where to get these "points".
I found WvWvW highly confusing, with ppl killing everything and everyone without a clear objective to me.
Exept these 3 points i just made, i dont know why i quit! The game has what (it seems) no other game have today- a super friendly comunity and playerbase. The game is amazing and fun and i'd love to come back to the game. But i just cant find it in me to play a game that makes my feel like such a noob that is close to unplayable. I search for the epic feel, but to this point, it feelis like i'm mostly hunting a rabbit with a stick.
Enough of me.
My question to you who read this is:
-Why did you quit guildwars? What made you decide that the game was not for you?
-Why do you still play guildwars? What's keeping you entertained?
Other then that i wish you a great day! Til next time!
(If you have tips on how i can improve my understanding of the game- please go ahead and throw it at me :D)

You are not anonymous on the Internet.
And yes, you're a fool if you ever thought you were.
I enjoyed it for a few months when it first came out. I never got a character to max level, probably because I had so much fun just running around WvWvW. I am the type that gets enjoyment just from watching swarms of people fight, then jump into the fray when I'm feeling bold. Then one day I kind of just stopped playing it, not because I didn't like it, I just had other things to do in this game called life you know. Oh yea, and most of the dedicated pvp guilds on my server transferred to the jade something server. I thought it was kind of stupid since jade, blackgate I think, and my server were always on top. Then my server sank to the bottom, I think that is when I took a break, haven't gone back since then.
I had lots of fun though. If I went back now I would feel like a complete noob too. Hmmm, I might have to jump on my warrior now and see what's going on. Run around wvwvw holding a battle banner pretending I'm commanding an army or something.
I still play it, been playing since early access.
I play it because the game offers me challanges that I havent found in WoW or SWTOR.
The pvp is much more superior, due to the fact its gear balanced and everyone is a counter class to anyone else, so it simply comes down to skill.
The WvW, is quite an amazing mass pvp compare to anything else in other MMOs.
Most ppl quit, because the game plays differently then WoW-like mmos, the dodge mechanics, the removal of the tank/healer/dps trinity, the way quests are given and delivered, the pvp, much harder dungeons, pve while lvling is harder.
At first I've been playing the game like it was WoW clone, but then when I saw that obviously I'm doing something wrong, I kinda started to study the game within the game.
I can only give tips for condition builds for thieves, since I focus on making videos about that.
Thank you for the kind words and the support
About things that are missing, I do miss raiding, but even without the raids, the game offers me a really good challenge.
Played WoW, SWTOR, that did offer me raiding, but lacked the balanced PvP that GW2 has.
In GW2 I feel much more involved in the fight and the actions my char takes then in WoW/SWTOR.
