To be honest I was actually a tad sad about the omni blade. But that's because to me the omni tool is just supposed to be an engineering thing. You can do all these constructive things with it or hack stuff with it. It's supposed to just be a computer on your arm and it's got all this wonderful nerd appeal. But when they made that into a weapon I was like, meh....
I really liked the cover system in ME2, they want 3 to be more actiony and less cover sometimes and I'm not gonna lie that does frighten me a bit. Don't wanna be running and gunning all the time.
I think Bioware is merely an example of how productive and beneficial a timetable could be.
Did you play DA2?
The only thing Bioware proved so far is that they still seemed to care about quality while being raped for getting their games out fast and in a profitable manner.
Its hilarious that you point at extremes like Blizzard and say Bioware is doing it right. The hell they are. No more than Blizzard.
As long as you acknowledge that other extreme which is Blizzard. And what I know is there wasn't a very long time in between Mass Effect 1 and 2 and 2 totally kicked ass.
If Bioware isn't doing it all just right (which I never claimed they were) then they're at least doing things more right than Blizzard.

Just how were they getting raped anyway? I've seen you complain about the evil entity EA plenty of times and while I certainly lament many of their business practices, I don't feel it's affected the Mass Effect series in any negative way. Sorry if Dragon Age 2 was so awful for you. And no I haven't played it. If it was so awful and you blame that on EA, then I'll bite. But the same company Bioware also manged to produce really amazing games like Mass Effect so they've shown they can produce a really amazing game in as little as two years.
Best of all, unlike Blizzard, they don't constantly release news about their game's development only to say that they had to get rid of all that cool stuff later cause it just wasn't working out for them. No. They give you a few updates, some screenshots, then they shut the hell up for awhile and just make their game and don't try to defend later what they are doing or their decision to pull a feature from the game.
I'm really excited about both of them. Have you guys played the ME3 demo? The multiplayer is actually really good, I'm glad they included it. Kinda like horde mode.
I was playing the demo last night actually. Didn't get into the multiplayer though. Actually I was playing the demo on my PC so I didn't play a very hard difficulty level cause I really prefer a controller for that game. I'm sad the PC version once again won't have controller support and I always have such bad luck with all that Xpadder, etc. business.
But all my saved games are on Xbox so I'll just finish it all on the console. Actually, I think this will be the very last game I buy for the 360 then it's mostly just PC gaming for me from here on out.
I love the graphics of the game so far and the game has set a really nice tone as well. I think my only complaint, and this will sound very nitpicky, but the Reaper's destructive capabilities of a planet seem kind of wimpy. Like everything should be totally engulfed in flames. Even the atmosphere should be a ruddy orange/red color from all that's happening with those giant Reapers disrupting everything. Remember when the Collector ship landed on Horizon in ME2 and it totally fucked with the planet's atmosphere? Like, that seriously felt like an invasion. Now there are Reapers everywhere and it's just like....c'mon....fuck our planet up already!
I actually convinced myself that maybe they're not really trying to blow everything up, but just subdue it. Like, since they do assimilate races and technology and reap everything...I try to tell myself that's simply why they're not turning the planet into a ball of glass. But still, they just seem to be doing a sloppy job of their invasion. It seems like people have tons of chances to escape the planet or generally just avoid being captured or killed.
Anyone play Halo Reach? Remember that mission where you're flying around in that helicopter thing from building to building and the whole city is one fire? That that was a dramatic invasion scene! Like there's a part where the Covenant fire this intense beam into this group of buildings and the whole thing just blinds you and there is this huge shockwave and everything is on fire and it was so beautiful and was just amazing.
But don't get me wrong. The site of the Reapers all over Earth is still very dramatic. And maybe they really are doing something far more specific before they torch the whole planet. But it just seemed like they were just randomly destroying buildings here and there while husks sparsely ran around the planet doing their thing. I don't know, there just feels like this lack of urgency...But I have faith in the overall story and tone of the game. It does feel like everything could end for Earth regardless. And all that aside the game really does look beautiful. I simply can't wait to play it. Ashley looks hot too. She actually looked hotter than my Shepherd and I was a bit jealous so I went back and tried to make my Shepherd look more hot. LOL
