havent watched his Doom 3 video yet. what's priceless in his "let's play" vids are his reactions, really. always wanted to listen to someone playing Doom 3, i know my reactions were from surprised to scared. always played it in the dark with surround, though...
not sure my vocal english skills are good enough for me to make those. and videos where you just play are plain boring so i wouldnt do that unless i found something really rare/important.
Well I got one of those smooth phone operator voices and one of my jobs is a phone operator. :whistling:
I still plan on trying all of this. Now that I got the game working great (I run the cycle fixed speed at 9000 in dosbox), I still gotta get a new headset cause my last one totally broke.
i used to be in sales and i'm quite smooth talking... in greek
anyway, Let's Play videos from me are out of the question cause of that, unless i find someone to make a commentary (which is useless unless its a PvP strategy game). I'm not that awesome in many games anyway... except Witcher perhaps and Gothic 1 and 2
Well I'm not awesome at any games either except games like this one that I've probably played through twenty times. So did you guys really invent baklava? Or was it the Turks?

can't answer with any objectivity on this one as a greek. i read somewhere that ancient greeks used to make it but i havent confirmed it, so your guess is as good as any
Pretty sure feta cheese is ours, though!
i'm usually good at action-rpgs, Diablo games (obviously), Gothic series, Witcher, Assassin's Creed, Fable series (awesome, especially on Xbox). "decent" at Dragon Age: Origins, Planescape Torment, stuff like that. Surprisingly i was extremely good in Spiderman: Web of Shadows too
I'd like to think Lands of Lore influenced many games since then, but since they deviated from the whole D&D system (a wise choice), more games have been like D&D by far. With the whole chaotic good, lawful evil, etc and the priests and scroll business.
can't blame the majority for being unoriginal. i like alignments. i really like pen and paper d&d too. Bethesda did things a different way with Morrowind and Oblivion too, right? (havent played the previous ones unfortunately but i did remember Stonekeep that might be interesting to play with Dosbox now)
I'm not into the alignments so much just because I think how you play the game should be deciding what kind of character you are. Lands of Lore is kind of self contained though. You can't make any big choices in it like in LoL 2.
alignments in Planescape Torment (which is in my opinion the best game that uses D&D rules) werent chosen by you. they were defined by how you decided to play the game and they affected how the party reacted to your leadership aswell - which was amazing for a game released 1998 (i think). Too bad Black Isle closed down, was a great studio.
the way Lands of Lore went was pretty linear (with the exception of LoL2 that i only played as "the good guy) but the characters were interesting and the whole events made you wanna play more.
nah, quit for the night in the draracle's caves and started checking the net for news about Diablo III and anything other of interest for now. will continue tomorrow
I'm in the catwalk caverns now. I really hate this place. It looks cool though and I like it's music, but all that puzzle solving and those energy draining pixels drive me crazy.
i dont mind the pixels, what i hate are those goat men in Opinwood. i HATE them. can't get to rest anywhere without getting 2 shot and they need 1 spark rank 4 and one rank 3 to die too.
They really are tough. On normal difficulty they can kill you in one shot. I just fight a few and head to the swamp as fast as I can.
I've reached the end of the Catwalk Caverns. Should I help the bearded floating brains?
Or the vagina octopus creatures?
Killing the Xeobs has a better reward, but they're significantly harder to kill. Well the rewards are the same except the Xeobs give you +1 to everyone's fighter skill and the Knowles give you +1 to everyone's magic skill.
fighter skill is overrated
just became "hero of the swamp" and now i'm going to the mines. finally the weapons are very very decent (finished the Larkhon too) Baccata is one kickass sidekick (Fighter 4, Rogue 3 and Mage 4) and Ak'shel is doing well with his skill ups (could use some more hp but armor and mana are solid so i can heal). Found the valkyrie crossbow too and its doing quite well (1-2 shots the hornets in Upper Opinwood).
pretty sure i'll miss a few spells, though. so far i'm up to Lightning.
You'll find fireball just fine. It's in one of the desks in the first level of the Urbish Mining Company. Those hornets are pretty good to get your rogue skill up so don't destroy their nests right away.
And looks like I'm going with fighter skill anyway just cause I kind of like the Xeobs better.
