really though how can you make a movie about a game that is about one person using spells and changing their armor every ten minutes? It would be too hard to do to keep it like diablo games.
You don't have much of imagination, do you?
One person - More heroes together? More dialogs than the game.
Spell - CGI, of course. ILM!
Every ten minutes - How much just 3 times in the movie? Or 4-5...

Yea like if they make an animation movie that is like for adults you know, with blood and gore lol... It could be good, with a good director of course.
I personally wont really mind how the movie will turn out, even if its not so epic i will be happy.
I would prefer a Live action take on Diablo, not Animation!
As for Epicness, I think Diablo has to be epic it's always a game with HORDES of monsters, and that's the way I like it to be in the movie, as well.

Live action, with 'reasonable use' of CGI! Something like the Lord of the Rings! Some of the characters in Diablo are really cool and should be played by a real actor, rather than being made in CGI!
Yes!
I would also love to see Diablo movie to have smth like LoTR feel.
Not pure animations, but with great CGIs and great storyline.
I have been waiting for this movie for years and I really wish someone would take it up and direct it!
First 30 minutes - Introduce all the Heroes, Main towns people (Cain, Pepin, etc) where they come from, and what Evil is Diablo bringing!
30 minutes in - First enter the dungeon
Dialog/Exploring/Finding loot/Read up on Horadrim history/Some NPC give certain quests - 10 minutes
Battle with Dungeon monsters easy ones like the skeletons and zombies - 5 minutes

They enter the Catacomb with Harder monsters like the Horned Goats, etc they are out of food and healing and they are very tired. They create a portal back to Tristram

(55 minutes in)
Back to the Catacomb

Battle with Catacomb monsters - 7 minutes
1:15 they enter the Caves with the much more difficult caves monsters threatening their life.
But they killed a few, then Finds some Unique weapons. (5 minutes)

heres a better topic to talk about in this thread. which game/book do you think they should base a movie on?
diablo 1 i think would be awsome. starts the basic development of diablo and with the tomes in the catacombs i think it would be awsome. simple and easier to produce then diablo 2 movie.
how about marius as the main character, or udyssian?
Then have russel crow as the udyssian, and i think david spade of jim carrey would make a great marius! lol

Russel Crowe WOULD make a good Uldyssian, but please for the sake of making Diablo a serious move don't let in David Spade or Jim Carrey! They're both pretty funny, but neither could take on a 100% serious role. However, Andy Serkis would make a GREAT Marius...
I dunno, every time I watch Marius he feels like Gollum to me. He's got this twisted, confused personality and he moves around a lot. I think Andy Serkis would do a stellar job as Marius. It wouldn't be too hard to give him a bit of make-up to make him look older.

Marius = Narrator.
Main character != Narrator.
Main character/characters NEED to be those that fight Diablo/Monsters.
And, frankly, I DON'T want to see Diablo as a Narrated movie, at all! At least not thruout the entire movie.
"So, the Barbarian enters the cave. He sees a unique sword on the ground...." Oh hell NO, keep narrating to a MINIMUM!!
Tomes, or the Horadric books can be narrated I guess, but that's about IT.
And Jim Carrey has DONE serious roles. He can act serious for sure.

I think that the paladin should be the lead character for the movie... And throughout all of his party members die off... Maybe have the Necromancer seem like an evil character then in the end he saves the Palidin by taking his own life for him.
What are your thoughts on this upcoming project by the successful film company Legendary Pictures that has a unique partnership with Warner Bros? I have mix feelings about this and I'm not sure if this will be succesful enough to produce future sequels or even prequels. Based on the fact that alot of movie-based games are either cool or just plain garbage. I hope that they hire the original thinkers behind the Diablo I to work for this one and follow the way the story goes.

Mathematics is a penumbra, those who hold such an affection to this noble field would find themselves into the realm of the Heirarchy of Abstracts and Paradoxes.
It's Blizz. They won't let it release if it isn't good.

Blizzard isn't a professional movie-making company. If anything, they'd sell temporary rights to a professional company to make it and then continue to make deals with merchandise.
I have heard about them making a Diablo movie for some time. I honestly don't think it will happen. If it does though it would be pretty rad, I would be 1st in line

This would be worse case scenario. I would hope they would retain some of the rights so they can put in their word if it seems right.
