I saw some youtube videos but I couldn't really find a whole lot of information on the game. Anyone know about it, or was in the CBT?
Looks like Aion and Aion sucked, but it seems in this one you don't click on your targets, you have your cursor set in the middle screen, like AoC. Am I right?
*whoops, I put this in the wrong section, meant to put it in other games.*
I was in the FGT (Focus Group Test) for this game. The graphics are great, actually didn't seem to require much system resources. The main thing that stuck out was the combat system.
You don't target an enemy, you simply walk up and begin to attack it, the best part was as a warrior you have a dodge skill. It's not like dodge in a lot of other games though that's passive. It's ACTIVE. So when you see the enemy begin to attack with a powerful attack you can use dodge and you'll do a flip and land behind the enemy (the actual visual effects of dodge depends on race).
Another thing that was fun is on a spell caster, you have a "crosshairs" you aim with. So you can lob your fireball extra far, or short depending where you aim. It will also travel better if you take into account the curve of the ground. You can aim it straight at the enemies feet and just hit the enemy and ground OR you can aim it along the ground and it will travel for some time before disappearing.
The quests were, a little disappointing. Then again I think they were still being worked on some. The crafting system was disabled, but it looked very promising.
My one main gripe was there were very few skills it seemed while leveling. But they may have added some more. On every survey I took I left feedback asking for more skills and quest diversity.
I was in the beta test for Aion and it bored the pants off of me. This was a good deal more enjoyable.

So wait is this a free game or pay monthly game or what? i really dont want to have to compete against people who have the extra time and money to pay real money for in game items

I believe it's P2P. So it's basically like a Aion art style mixed with a AoC combat system and or Darkfall.
I refuse to play it because they are so damn expensive. I know many of my friends who have played WoW since it was released and have been paying every month. That adds up to a big pile of gold.
Very true, but if you look at it say budgeting your money, you have categories your money gets put into.
Food
Entertainment
Bills
for example, and P2P game could be part of your entertainment plan. I think the support noted in a P2P game is far greater than a F2P (Minus Aion).
This game sounds awesome, great systems and all that, but sadly I refuse to play something with a monthly fee :/ I hope some company makes a F2P game with this system. I have been waiting many years for games to start using this way to handle combat.
God forbid you pay an extra 10-20 bucks to play a game you really want. I guess that would be illogical.
your anti-p2p bias is quite sad. esp when 90% of games sell for 69.99 and have 7 hours of gameplay.
or u can come back to earth and pay 40$ for dragon age and have 40 hours?????? lol or, 30-40 for any ea game, and get a decent amount of campaign games with a good online (dont flame on this) play.
7 hours of game play = like 15 maybe 20$...
just take a chill pill man and dont go out harrasing pple who share different opinions. state your side like dirty did, and move on.
i personally dont want a pay to play, becuase i dont play ONE game. i like to have several games im hooked on at a time. for example, HoN and Savage 2 and dragon age. three games i really enjoy. it just happens to be, 2 of those are free, but the point is, if i pay to play, i wouldnt be able to get the other games (or at least as many). im not that guy who buys every game that comes out, but i do like to play many dif types. by paying to play, the diversity alloted due to the lack of "entertainment" money dramaticly drops.
dirty, i kinda think that way too, alloted money :). wat works for one doesnt work for all.
as for emilemil, ME 2! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A GAME WEHRE U ACTUALLY FIGHT!!!! not like wow (not bashing, just showing differnce) where u click, and wait, then go to next creep. then, later levels, click, then spam every spell you have in the right comp. i want it so that you have to DODGE, ATTACK, and MOVE AROUND to be able to win a fight. essentially, more intense and like you control a lot more. ive stated this a couple itmes i think, but a mix of savage 2 with diablo? third person/first person mele/range rpg. i would personally enjoy a third person mele rpg tho.
i havnt played aoin, is it p2p? idk alot about it (none actually). is it something like this? my friend said it was better than wow and had a lot of action.

Hah, thanks. But if you're looking for a game where you control your character, Age of Conan is exactly what you're talking about. Also Darkfall (but it's horrible), but both are P2P.
Aion also is P2P and no, it sucks. It's basically a Korean version of WoW which means you just grind a lot.. I mean really grind, I played and had to grind for a week straight because there were no quests for me. And sometimes (actually a good amount) the quests aren't even worth doing because they give you so little exp and by the time it took you to do the quest you could of grinded out more exp than the quest gives you. I don't know, I mean I played the game when it first came out for a month and than quit because it was soooo repetitive and the items weren't unique like they all carried the same properties, each archetype of weapon had a set speed and a set amount of times it could hit in one attack.
But for Tera, the game looks cool but Aion really kind of set me off from the Japanese/Korean MMO type games seeing as they really are kind of sequacious with each other.
and a plus for wc3/d2 is that it can be played on almost any laptop big plus for me at school a lot.i got lucky that hon scrapes by at 50-ish fps on all low settings at 1440.
agree also on the feel of obligation to play. i would feel like i wasted that 15$ or w/e if i only played 3 hours one month. 5$/hour.... hell, pple get payed less than that (non legally...).
thx dirty for the sugestions and ya, i also heard aion is a grind hore game. odly, thats y my friend likes it... wierd...
Those are the only games I have been playing regularly for the last few years. Every game has virtually infinite gameplay. Console games are not included. And the good thing is that I can play any of those games just one hour a week if I want to, while with MMOs I feel that I must play it constantly or it won't be worth the money.
15 Dollars is 1/6 of your monthly income? You make 90 dollars a month? You should find a new job if you're only making that much money.
Gameplay maybe, content no. With a MMO you pay 50 cents a day to play as much as you want. Sadly no good MMOs have come out in a long time.
Also you may get the feeling that you NEED to play to keep up, but in reality you don't. I go at my own pace and I still keep up at endgame with all but the most hardcore 16 hour a day people. Occasionally on weekend when I'm free I go on gaming binges, but that is a rarity.
maybe he doesnt have a job, (and 90dlrs is his allowance) and i played wow for 3 months and i played like 1h every day since i have other stuff to do and i felt like i was wasting money, if all i did was play wow i would pay that price np but paying that much for that little gameplay to me sounds like a waste.
I dont like game that require me to change my life in order to be good at them, i like to play on my free time not live in my playing downtime.
so, just cuz i make 50 billion dollors means im goign tospend it all on videogames zoombie?
90$ is a substantial amount to spend on GAMES ONLY. that is 2-3 games a month. so, i doubt he makes 90$ a month and i doubt all his money goes into games. just from personal experience. i dont think enough games are made to spend a full time salary on them.... not including all the consoles n such.
I do not like mmo's as well. I prefer single player. I also do not like the idea of constantly paying for a game. Then again I have only bought a few games since the other games I tried (demos) did not impress me.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
Looking at your profile I think it might be likely due to my age and when I started gaming back in 1982 or was 1983. I did play with my friends on the atari 2600 and then later on the commodore 64.
In the past decade sometimes I did get enjoyment online but it was rarely since I do not like to rush in a game but take my time.

As for the feeling you need to keep up with the rest of the people playing, you don't have to, you just feel you need to. WoW is the most casual friendly MMO on the market to date.

Secondly, paying to play one MMO is practically the cheapest entertainment you can get. Even if you only play a few hours a week it'll still be cheaper than say, going to a movie with your girl and paying 15 bucks for an hour and a half to 2 hours of movie.
He's probably a kid in high school or middle school so it's not like he has anything to spend his allowance/income on besides his entertainment.
Oh and it's Zoobi, not Zoombie.
This discussion is way offtopic by the way. I fail to understand your thought processes, if you don't like MMOs why do you come into a thread about an MMO?
As for TERA I'm in cautious anticipation of it. I beta tested AoC which was supposed to revolutionize MMO combat, it did in a sense, but it falled flat on content. We'll see how TERA turns out.
