I know some of you may be harsh here but its all good. I got thinking last night, imagining what the game play would be like for future Diablo games even though D3 has not been released yet. What do you guys think the franchise will look like in the future, if any, and what kind of game play would you all like to see??
I think I'd just like an expansion pack or two for Diablo III before we even start thinking about IV
Yeah, I'd like to see multiple expansions for Diablo like they've done with WoW, I think though that WoW has preference over Diablo many times over. I can dream though.
lol ya i would want a bunch of expansions for diablo 3 cause i think the graphics and gameplay for diablo 3 make it most satisfying, to my opinion i think if they got any better graphics and made it look like real life i would be pissed i like how they make animation looks
Agreed. I honestly hope by the time D4 comes out, if it ever does, that I'm totally through playing computer games.
Why? Computer games are something to do when your bored. Just a cooler fictional book lol.

lol wow if only 1000 dollar comps would be better than human race then thats way to cheap i would say 1 billion dolllar comps would exceed human race lol
I wouldn't put it past Blizzard to at least toy with the idea of a Diablo based MMO but I doubt that it would happen. The Diablo series is too strongly tied to lore to create a bastardized storyline for an MMO. I can see them keeping the Diablo Franchise as an RPG, Starcraft as and RTS, and Warcraft as an MMO (for now) but after they release the new MMO I can see Warcraft returning to RTS and both Crafts moving into RPG. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a Warcraft RPG be used as Blizzard's return to console gaming.
They have previously announced that Diablo III will not be the last game in the franchise but it will be the LAST GAME IN THE CURRENT STORYLINE. A new storyline in the realm of Diablo will allow a great deal of gameplay change. I would not be surprised to see a Fallout3/Oblivion/Fable2 style game produced in 1st person. So in short I doubt we will ever see a Diablo IV but we will see another title in the franchise.
How about this.... Diablo 4 will be set 2000 years later and fought in space. You're gonna have to kill some space imps and multiple lunar shamans Watch out for the protoss or the zergs now, they might come and get ya !
There was a lot of special FX that blizzard chose not to introduce into diablo 3 because they didnt want to require high end rigs to play the game.
Early on people complained about the rainbow like color that diablo 3 had. Many people talked about how they wanted to see a darker environment similar to that of diablo one. Blizzard noted several reasons why they were limited in just how far they could go to achieve the end goal that they wanted due to hardware limitations that still exist today.
Im sure that diablo 3 will make people very happy in terms of graphics. If there were to be a diablo 4 and if I were to get to see all the new improvements graphically I would pee my pants.
I do wonder how far they can push the game while keeping it isometric, and true to the first 2 games. In the future I see the game going fully 3D and taking some giant leaps in directions pretty far removed from what we've seen before in Diablo. Whether it'll be for the best or not I don't know, but unless they throw in some huge changes, I can't even see them making a D4. I find it hard to believe they'd make a diablo MMORPG, but nothing Bliz do could surprise me.

Working with adobe and/or java is like pushing a paper clip against a building and expecting it to move...
I would not want to play a Diablo game in virtual reality ever. I would have nightmares for weeks. And think of all the times you'd get killed in-game. It'd be a horrible feeling I imagine.
Plus I'd be very paranoid playing anything in virtual reality because if as you say, your mind would be disconnected from reality someone could probably just break into your house and kill your real body while you're playing. It's just creepy.
Hmm, yes it might be scary when a siege breaker breaks out of a wall and charges you But I think that dying would just equal the screen turning black. It would obviously not include real pain
It will be the future, we will all have leet alarms
There will always be someone who will figure out how to get through those alarms no matter how good they are. Besides, I might not be able to afford good alarms when I'm older anyways.
And I think being anywhere in the Diablo world would be scary as hell. Think about it, everything in that world would seem just as real as the real world. So essentially you would be walking through dark forests surrounded by horribly realistic demons everywhere. It would be absolutely terrifying.
And I'm sure they'd incorporate other senses into virtual reality as well. I don't know if they'd let you feel pain but you'd likely be able to smell and feel everything else. It would be strange if you were walking around in a world where everything looks realistic but you can't feel anything.
Anyway, mainstream virtual reality probably won't be out in our lifetime unless we are very rich. The technology is simply much too expensive for the average joe to buy. Besides, we'll all be dead by 2012 anyway.
You are really underestimating alarms. Just put up a motion detection camera that automatically notifies you when someone approaches the door.
The equipment you use to produce the virtual reality can prevent you from becoming scared, it can easily do it by electrical impulses. What is the point of buying a horror game if it is too realistic to play It would obviously turn you into this brave hero that never get too scared. Dreaming is once again a good example of when you can do things that would scare the fuck out of you irl.
We must drop this now or it will get deleted for beeing off-topic Even if it isn't... it is very possible that D4 will be in virtual reality xD
Alright, I personally will have to judge by Diablo 3 to see if I even want a Diablo 4 before I start thinking about its evolution. Who knows, maybe Diablo 3 will be terrible. I can't see it being in VR though that's for sure.

No 3d for me, then it would be a whole different game IMO.
But i would like to see some higher specs for running future diablo games/

On the same token, I would still play if it were still a hack'n'slash Isometric game.
I just hope that Richard Knaak releases more books about Sanctuary. I've read all of these almost five times over.
