I'd love to see a part 2, my favourite culture we're the Egyptians, lots of cool myth units and I liked the way they we're played, Norse we're pretty awesome too, I like the fact that infantry built structures.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
I absolutely loved this game- one of my favorite RTS's, definitely. And the world builder was amazing! Perfectly user friendly with more interesting and flexable aspects (like cinematics and such) that you can set up from scratch if you want to (one of my favorite pasttimes- I spent days with this thing!) And, of course, I loved both of the storylines- nothing too overtly stunning plot-wise (if you're familiar with mythology), but that's what made it great to me. And there was challenge, too- on a strategic level. And the voices were perfectly picked. EA games hardly ever pops out a good one, but this was definitely an exception.
EA? wasnt it Ensemble Studios? (the ones that made Age of Empires). Anyway, it was a pretty decent game to me, even though i', not so into RTS. I prefered the Warcraft series.
love AoM! even though AoE2/the conquerors is my favorite "age of" i'd place AoM + the titans in my number two.
i've always talked about Ensemble Studios making a sequel to the game with my friends and we always hope the do. more civs with their mythos would be sweet, like ancient china and japan, persia, possibly hindu, celtic pagan (though that might be too similar to norse). plus an upgrade of the original 4 (greek, norse, egypt, atlantean). also maybe make the map editor a little easier to navigate. i tried to make tons of maps but i always got lost with the tools.
favorite civ is probably the norse (thor with dwarf bonus ftw), though i love every civ equally since the game is so unique.
edit: in the sequel i'd love to see more campaigns with an epic storyline. in the first there were 2 (with the expansion) and a mini campaign ES had for download on their website. a new campaign could be about anything, especiall with new civs introduced; the possibilities are endless.

thanks for the article, DGK. what the hell? it looks like MSG is shutting them down because of money! AHHGG >
Fortunately it looks like they're going to regroup as a new studio, basically ES with a new name. i hope this means more work on great RTS's in the future from the same team. unfortunately my faith in an AoM2 ever being made is kinda shattered.

the only future RTS i have liked is redalert 2 so lets hope they make a good one
haven't played red alert so i'm not sure bout that one. tom clancy's end war looked good from what i saw when the were developing it but apparently it's not doing so well. i like the concept of using a headset to command the units though.

yea i downloaded the demo on the ps3 and i must say its impressive but it looks like it would get boring after a while.
god technology is getting better everyday we can now command our units in games through a headset

yeah, and more expensive. i don't own a ps3, or any game system for that matter
anywas back on AoM i liked the fact that ES made another mini campaign for download on their sight. dunno if you discovered it, it was called "the golden gift" and it was about the dwarf brothers brok and etri and a golden boar made for odin. it was like 4 missions long but the maps were huge and very nice too look at; plenty of missions too.

ah i need to check that out, my friend has my AoM since i got bored of it but you got me all hyped up again
yeah, it should be on ES's website under the downloads section. they also have other user-made campaigns, maps, units, etc. that are pretty cool

Mine is Norse, because they can get high attack and they look cool.
I loved how if u were Loki your Hesirs would spawn myth units when they killed enemies.
Ensemble Studios made it, not EA.
yea its sad they are closing down, personally i think the AoE campaign was ALOT better than the AoM. damn i think im gonna reinstall AoM and play it

yes AoM wasnt as good as AoE2 but AoM had its perks
