No, actually, there is simply no point to making a Fallout, because they cannot make a Fallout, nor will they make a Fallout, so why not they pick a new name? Why bother with the old brand? Advertisement, nothing else. But is it Fallout? No. Not at all.
Why not pick a new name?
Why would they want to pick a new name?
It's good publicity. Fans who lost their hope long ago are ecstatic. It's a loved franchise. It's a loved universe. It may be a new game, but it's only a new approach. One that better fits today's standards, and the new company making the game. Not to revisit the Fallout universe would, in my opinion, be a terrible thing to do.
Only reason not to would be that there always will be people saying it will not be 'Fallout,' that there's no way another creator than the original one can replicate the atmosphere of the original. Interplay is dead. Bethesda is not. It is true that they are tackling a legend, one difficult to match, but I'm confident they will pull it off.
I said it before and I'll say it again: only time will tell.

Well, if AO developers won't screw theirs game it will be incredible too... but it doesn't make sense not to screw up a game, you know?
Wait, what? How does that make sense? At all.
Are you saying there is no way a game could not be screwed up?
Your pessimism is extraordinary. I will not even try to understand it. There's no point.

"So I like climb out the window and I fall because we’re on the third floor , but it’s cool, because I land where my arm used to be, but it’s not there so it doesn’t hurt. And I’m thinking, yeah, man, this no arm thing is kinda chill."
I agree. It's as lame as this picture. Look at how the Barbarian has his ass totally kicked while these douchy Warcraft characters barge in all ready to fight. Hella lame. It's even insulting.
They're all Playable Characters. One lost, Three have more of a chance of winning.
I want an MMO where there are skills that are unique, as in only one player in the entire game can have it and it can only be spread through the teachings of that player.
These skills can come randomly at any level, found in books, by completing some weird achievement, etc.
There was an mmo in the works called Trials of Ascension that had this feature, but they shut down do to lack of funding.

That's how it should be. Customization of characters is very important. And it should go as far as skills, appearances, etc that are totally unique for that single player.
A western MMO based on clint eastwood's man with no name series.
That's actually not a bad idea. I kind of wish there were more Wild West style games with maybe some sci-fi elements. I love the movie Pale Rider with Clint Eastwood and I think a setting like that could potentially make an interesting game. Potentially. It could also turn out very boring if not done right.
I reckon the first person shooter MMO idea would rock..
but has to based on duke nukem or doom.
I would like to see an MMO where you either became criminals or crime fighters and then became super heros/villians... and you could design your own costume.. and powers...

I'm not so sure there's that much going on in Duke Nukem or Doom to make an MMO out of it. Those games are meant to be just these straightforward FPS games.
If they try something FPS style I think the closest we're going to get would be very similar to Mass Effect. The way you level up in that game would have to be tweaked a little bit, but the skills and how your character functions at any given level would translate well I think.

Mass Effect could potentially be an awesome MMO. Personally though, I'd rather see a Mass Effect 2 first. One that is much more challenging. That game was too easy to beat.
There's a game where you can jump into the role of a Hero/Villain.
And you can design your own costumes and powers ;).
It's called City of Heroes/ City of Villains :D.
is it any good?

E.g., the best we got on this forum so far is this: http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t125/Uber_Doppelganger/Diablo_blackwhite_01.gif
I'm just saying I wish the forum community was a bit more active in drawing. I mean, look at goodguy.
I'm just going to take that as a compliment.

It's a reference to WoW, not Wc3.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

I think I read one of those, it was Merchant of Death or something. I always mix up Pendragon and Penhaligon.
Not a bad setting from what I can remember.
is it any good?
