The books for Willow (well, they were after the movie) were actually pretty good.
Personally I don't like MMO's anymore. I'm sick of the grindfest and intense lack of storylines and also the fact that most of the time they make it so that you absolutely NEED a party to be able to advance.
For the sake of the thread though, it would be cool to see an MMO set in the Star Ocean or Suikoden universe.
This is why I talk about Rakion, getting bored of the same auto-attack (well you didn't say that but you probably think it :P) - there ar egood storylines and it's not true that you will always need a party - just for boss quests O.o and it's not hard to get parties at all. More then one = fun. In lots of ways...
But anyways, Rakion MMO PLEASE! Or something of the like. Click your mouse and character swings sword. - simple, do like WoW; item upgrades, tuns of spells, but add one thing - more combo moves and different attack styles (num pad 1 will set one attack style, 2 different again, 3, 4, 5 so on) maybe good for against melee, ranged, both or just for something different.

Well, I was interested in that Fury online one, but reading about it kind of put me off. I seems set up more like Halo's online deathmatches than it does an actual MMO with a story to it.
I don't know, maybe I've just been playing the wrong games.

im in total agreence on both points.
prehaps this thread should encompass of possiblity of online RPG, not necessarily massive multiplayer, that might be better. some thing similar to say LOD, you'd still have hundreds of people playing it, but not all together, and you can solo if you want to.

I am comparing it to Halo, but only in how matches are set up and that there isn't really a world you can go around in and explore. Although truthfully I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. Perhaps you can explain the gameplay better?
I'd like to think Dune would make a good MMO. But they've already made so many Dune video games, some decent, some not so decent, and they've kind of slaughtered some of the plot continuity and characters in the books. But the size of the Dune universe and the way battles are fought on the ground make for good video games.
I've never seen Star Ocean, but surely Crest of Stars could make a cool game. Probably not an MMO, but an RTS for sure. It would be really cool to play as the United Mankind.

If they did a Crest/Banner of the Stars RTS surely you'd be able to play as both, I just think the United Mankind would be the harder difficulty. I'll stick on the Humankind Empire Abh side, thank you. I think it would be an interesting setting for an MMO though, but it would be really hard to pull off.
If you enjoyed Japanese RPG's like I do you've love Star Ocean, but alas I am at heart a megalomaniac.
And Chaosdrache, what is this madness you speak of? This_is_Spartaaaaaa!
There is a DBZ/GT MMO being made I think. It is really hard to find information about but that was a show I like when I was younger and I still enjoy the games from time to time(I plan to get Tenkaichi 3 whenever I buy a Wii)

Just throwin that out there.
i've played some of the older dbz games... the controles really suck, so if they ever did make something like that, they would definitely have to work on the control scheme

is this the original star trek were talking about? or all the bullshit that came along after it?

star trek??!! that is the....weirdest....show that I have ever come across to....p,s i think the acting sucks...no offense ^^
I could debate for many hours with you on the constantly overlooked merits of Star Trek. But I shalln't do it here in this thread.
I will briefly say this, though. I've never been really a religious person in my life. But if there are some teachings that I've often kept close to my heart, they are the ones derived from the tenets of Star Trek.

Wait are you talking about this? - if you are you can't compare that to Halo...
