Why does the PS3 cost $600 upon release and run every game for a long time while a $1000 PC will run games for a year? And TV's have much higher resolutions then a 17in monitor...
Anyone know? And also consoles are so much smaller and don't overheat as much!
Also, does anyone know what kind of card the PS3 has? (GFX Card). Like 4x 8800 Ultra's?

Well, these are simple.
The PS3 was $600 which was much cheaper than the actual hardware costs to produce. Companies make no money on consoles. The money is in the sale of games. If they were to sell it in a similar fashion to a PC, it would indeed be pricier.
Games on consoles don't make leaps and bounds over the lifetime of the console. The games are made for the hardware, where as PC games are made for the hardware thats not out yet.
Not all TV's have higher resolutions. A 24 inch computer monitor is the equivalent to a 1080i/p television.
PC's only overheat if the owners don't take proper precautions. Consoles do in fact overheat.
The PS3's graphics card is weak in comparison to current high end pc cards. More like a single 7900GTX.

Because it only needs to run games and nothing else. Since they also need not worry about compatibility between different processors, cards, motherboards etc., they can just mass-order one type of everything. Or so I suspect.
It also runs every game for a long time because it has to. A developer can't developa game for the PS3 which the PS3 cannot run, it won't happen, and I'm sure you realize why.
But a computer game can keep pushing the boundaries constantly.

Well sure, but my TV also has a crappier picture quality than my monitor. And a good TV costs a lot.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
