This concept has been floating around for quite some time, and maybe something like that in the future will happen. I'm not sure if you remember, but, Nintendo stated that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would be the last Zelda of that kind. I'm unaware of that specifically means, but, you never know.
Nintendo also originally said that they were keeping the Gameboy franchise...

TP is the last LOZ game to use the traditional game pad, future LOZ games will only use the wii remote, or DS stylus.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

One day we are just going to plug our nervous system into the game...
I don't think it had to with that, if it did, then they could just have easilly said that the Zelda games are only coming out on DS and Wii. I feel like there's something more, when TP was originally going to be a first person game.

Just because it's on wii doesn't mean it can only be played with the remote, like I said above, you can play TP on wii with the regular 'old fashion' controller, like you did for games like OOT, MM, TWW, and pretty much and game prior to TP and PH.
