Just want peoples opinions. If this topic offends someone im sorry. Just trying to have interesting conversation.
My view would be that if a person wants to end there own life there should be a public way to do so. Would help alot of people out that perhaps might be homleless cant find a job no family and there kinda just out there.
There are probably alot of cons to this as well but someone will post them all. Just looking for some opinions and other peoples thoughts.

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
As long as I can get my money back by tying a string around my finger and yanking my coin back out, I'm all for it.
I dont think it should cost money to use if they made one. I think it should be as easy as visiting a place or building. They put you in a room and give you like letha injection or something quick and painless.

You have been watching too much Futurama. If people really want to kill themselves they'll do it anyway, no need for government funded incentives to do it.
What? lol. There are already plenty of ways to kill yourself in public. Jump off a building, set yourself on fire, grope some thugs, shoot yourself, run in front of an 18 wheeler or something, hang yourself. Shouldn't waste money on public suicide booths. If they are really too lazy to jump off a building or shoot their face off then apparently life is still worth living.
I generally do not have anything against a person committing suicide if there's nothing left to keep them here. The thing is, if you really need to commit suicide you'll find a way.
Some people, though, have delusional suicide of the form where it's temporary and may go away after some counseling. This group of people may become shafted with the presence of suicide booths, since that will make suicide more accepted, as well as easier to pull off.
While I don't think a person should be punished for trying to commit suicide, anyone creating a device helping, and thus somewhat urging people to commit suicide shouldn't be allowed to do so.

So what if a person lives far away from high buildings and does not have access to a gun or knife. If he's broke living on the streets either he would have to be lucky enough to jump in front of a fast moving car/train. Also what if he survives when the car/truck hits him. That would defeat the purpose.

Just no. There's a million different ways to kill yourself, having legal suicide booths would make it become more accepted and more people will kill themselves without properly considering the alternatives. Anything that promotes suicide is a lame idea.
Well, if there was a booth it wouldn't necessarily create as a big a mess for someone else to have to clean up. So there's that. I mean, jumping off things or bleeding everywhere is making no one else's day any better.
Right? but all kidding aside i think the idea behind suicide booths is something interesting but should it be a public thing? no. If there's someone who wants to end his life without no way of changing his wishes then there should be some way to get the job done without failure, What i mean is, while there are many ways to kill one self there are many ways you might just end up paralyzed or with severe problems if you do fail at the attempt.
I don't know. I don't necessarily agree with people shoving mortality into the faces of others; people are already aware of mortality in one way or another, but it's quite distressing to have that image of death put blatantly in public.
It wasn't even funny in Futurama (which is where I know where you got the idea).

I hate the way you cling to ignorance and pass it off as innocence
I agree with crittercutter. I'm actually really disappointed in anyone in favor of it. Clearly none of you took the least amount of time to think about it or struggled with depression.
"What happened? I thought you two were getting along really great."
"Oh ya...we were. Just that she was late and wanted to call me. Her mobile was not working at the time. But instead of a phone booth she got in a suicide booth."
"What? But suicide booths are yellow and phone booths are green! How could she have made such a mistake!?!"
It wasn't even funny in Futurama (which is where I know where you got the idea).
It was when the knife thrusts forward and then twists to the side.
By the way, I make a Federal Sex Bureau joke from Futurama and no one pays attention to that? If you people want me to leave and never come back just say so.
Year 300 all you had to do to be killed was say you were a witch (or wizard).
Then you got burnt.
Now on that matter, I think committing suicide is an act of cowardice. And I hate cowards. So no, i don't like the idea of making suicide accessible. Mostly because it's something that you can't take back. And there's a high chance to regret thinking about it eventually when things start to get better.

I think it's more of a case of not thinking about consequences.
And not reading other peoples' posts.

Or you could stop drinking. Ugly way to die but it's there.
There are many different ways to die. If one seems too gruesome then perhaps you are not ready to die yet.
The only exception to this is maybe jail.
