First off, the DNA analysis isn't obviously yet complete (some media incorrectly reported it as complete).
Secondly, it's as obvious Obama had his personal reasons to this as well, but it's not as super shady as you make it think. CIA simply found out where he was, and Obama took the present given to him. It *might* be plausible that he delayed the attack so it would be closer to the elections.
Thirdly, throwing his corpse into the sea is totally logical. Sea burial leaves no grave. No grave means no place for all his followers to pay their respects. And I think that's exactly how the US government wanted it.
You do know that his followers can just go to that sea and pay their respects. They can create any sort of shrine and pay their respects. People are generally really imaginative, especially the crazy ones.
Yea, but Saddam was stumbled upon by a squad of Army guys, not CIA people who went in knowing it was a covert operation. Yes, the Army guys were looking for Saddam, but it wasn't supposed to be just forgotten about in case of failure.
You know, I'm having a very difficult time believing that Bin Laden was found and neutralized with a SEAL Team Six squad like it was nothing. If you're an internationally known and wanted terrorist, so much so that children aged 6 years, and the elderly aged 90 years know you and what you've done and would gladly shoot you on sight, would you really hang out at a place that is any less secure than a military base? I would guess not. Yet they're reporting that ONE team, and FOUR helicopters took him down. Now imagine the 4 helicopters landing somewhere that's within earshot of Osama's sentries. That would have alerted them, and I'm willing to bet that he has more than 20 guards with him at any given time, fully armed and ready. I don't know, this all just seams way too video-gamey for me to fully buy.
I know this may sound slightly, or even completely implausible to some, but I believe that we're on the verge of something that will significantly change everything we know. The entire Arab world is changing, the entire world is taken away with Bin Laden's death..all these extremely significant occurences, in my opinion, must lead up to something similar to an M. Night Shyamalan kind of ending. Let's hope us Arabs, specifically Muslims, and more specifically, the Lebanese people (seeing as how Hezbollah is Lebanese) don't end up being the butt of it all, or even slightly affected. God knows everyone here is sick of all the childish bickering over every single fucking thing.
Although it's interesting news, I don't really care that much. Ultimately, the organization is what is killing people, and killing their leader is just going to incite them to further violence.
I don't think it's wrong we captured or killed him, but it's certainly not worth celebrating.
But I agree with some of the posters, that being happy about his demise and actually cheering makes us seem like savages.
I am however pleased that he won't reek more terror, unfortunately there's always the chance of repercussions :(.
Everybody should make peace.. by playing DIII instead of killing people.
The holy truth. Hope blizzard realizes that it has world peace in its hands now and they best make soon sooner.
And the politicians will bask in the afterglow. I hope we are on high alert... retribution by these fanatics could be huge.... just a thought.
Yeah that is the main concern to be honest.
On another note, the latest updates from John Brennan is going to be like sweet nectar for bees for the conspiracy theorists out there. The sudden, hurried burial of the guy with no pictures released and all. For an operation that was being monitored/watched 'live' by the White House, there are too many questions that had fuzzy answers.
Bleh.
I do think osama is dead but these people do need to make a better job in showing that.
I also like how the US basically grabbed Pakistan's ass and got away even before they knew.
Bin was staying a few hundred meters from a Pakistan military base. LOL.
well you have to ask yourself .... was he killed now or 10 years ago ... and why did they buried him on sea ...where is the proof of his death ? They braged how good they are and how they killed Hussein on every chanel and showed footage of his death , but now nothing ...
the photo they sgowed is as fake as Obamas birth certificate.
I am not happy at all of his death an no civilized ppl should be .... just wait untill they craft another lie like 9/11 , only this time it will drag more innocent ppl down the rabbit hole because we are to them nothing more than cattle.
open your eyes ppl before its to late , you can call me a conspiracy theorist or a lunatic or crazy it dosnt matter , something is not right about this ... all of a suden he is dead , killed by some 20 ultra soldiers ....
Be safe !
PS : interesting how he was declared dead in same day and month as THE FUHRER Osama 01.05.2011 Hitler : 01.05.1945
I'm kind of an existentialist when it comes to worldly affairs. I just don't have any personal connections with this whole situation so it really doesn't effect me. I think if maybe I knew someone who was in the armed forces or someone who was killed in 9/11 I might care more but...

Well apparently there were pictures taken but they have yet to be released. Probably because he was shot in the head, so theres that. Not to mention that showing images of him and his burial (which have apparently been taken) could make people more likely to retaliate. And in order to identify the body they compared it to a bunch of his relatives that were on file and had one of his wives visually confirm. And the President was watching it real time, along with his staff. So thats how any superiors knew what was going on.
As for why he was buried at sea, apparently a group of nations were asked to take his body and turned it down, so a burial at sea was the only option for a speedy burial, which is part of Muslim tradition.

It didn't happen like it was nothing. They received a report in August saying that he might be near Islamabad, and it took months to find a way to confirm, which they eventually did through tracking a courier known to be one of Osama's trusted messengers. And most people in that area wouldn't shoot him on sight, which is why he was there in the first place. Not to mention that securing a place as well as a military base would make you a prime target for Predator drone strikes or cruise missiles, which you can't really defend against. So he probably had to balance between not having too much traffic in and out of the area, or it would become a target even if the US didn't know Osama was there, and being defended. And its pretty hard to defend against well trained Navy SEALs with air support when all you have is a group of guys with AK47s and RPGs.
I want to ask everyone here a rather controversial question:
What exactly is so sad about the death of person you never personally knew?
You do realize that humans are nothing more than intelligent animals? And the world population of this species of animals is about to hit critical mass? In Minnesota, United States (where i live), we actually get asked by the government to go out and kill deer in order to thin the herd. The reason: because, overopulation leads to suffering. It has been determined that it is more humane to kill them outright then cause them suffer through starvation and quasi canibalism.
As the world population continues to grow, we are going to hit the ultimate rule of economics. There is infinite demand for finite resources. Human suffering will grow exponentially, and all of you mourning death now, will see how dreadfully wrong you are.
Now to get back on topic: I for one am glad, and I am proud to have cheered / cheer the death of Osama. This man did not deserve to consume his share of this world's finite resources.
- One of his wives identified the body after the raid.
- They will use the DNA of other family members to confirm DNA relations. DNA has been collected from the bin Laden family members since 2001.

Why don't you go ahead and kill all your loved ones. Because, you know, the overpopulation will lead to suffering, and we don't want that, do we ?!

He must have had a contingency plan in case he gets raided, and the sound of the 4 helicopters must have told him something was fucking up. I don't know, it just doesn't add up 100%. It might add up 99%, but certainly not 100%.
Yeah we're talking about the leader of al-Qaeda. I find it really suspicious how they say it went down also. The man has money, munitions, people at his disposal ready to die for him with no objections, and he chooses to hide in Pakistan, basically unguarded, where he had a home at one point, and a small force took him out in a firefight? Just seems like something you'd see in a Tom Clancy game to me.

I'm not sure what your point is at all. Are you saying that due to overpopulation we shouldn't be sad when people die because we need people to die anyway to compensate for overpopulation?
First of all, I won't deny for a moment that the world is too overpopulated. But the solution is not to give the okay for mass murder....I think that was the point you're making but I dare not be so bold I think. The best way to reduce population is to increase education and improve people's economic status as much as possible. The correlation between education and low birth rate is too high to ignore.
And to be happy about Osama being dead doesn't just have to be about feeling sad for those who died. To me anyway, it's more about the fact we killed a really dangerous man. And sure, someone will take his place. I get that. But just cause some bad guy will inevitably replace another that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to stop them.
Apparently they warned this back on the 25th, so now we just sit and wait to see what happens. I hope they're full of hot air, or we're really prepared.

I'm sure they are prepared for some form of retaliation since they announced one. Hell, they should be prepared anyways announcement or not. But they knew the warnings before 9/11 and look what happened.
