Look at it this way. In 2001, Osama was responsible for the deaths of many people, he tore apart families, killed people's loved ones. Imagine someone killing your wife/girlfriend. Imagine how you would feel and how much you'd want revenge. Isn't it logical to be happy when the man responsible got what was coming to him? (note that I'm saying happy, not openly celebrating)
Imagine the number of people who died during the war on terror. Soldiers, civilians, all dead. And all those deaths would have been pointless if bin Laden didn't eventually get caught. Among those people happy that bin Laden is dead, there are countless people who feel that their loved ones have finally been avenged. That's not lowering oneself to terrorist level and it's an insult to the people who lost someone close to them to say something like that. You haven't lost anyone whom you loved because of bin Laden, so you are not to judge anybody. If you were in their place, you'd be happy too.
As for those openly celebrating and waving US flags in front of the White House and in the streets, partying everywhere...that's obviously people who haven't lost anybody, and who lack decency and dignity. If they lost someone, they would celebrate their memory quite differently.

I completely agree with Daemaro on this one. It kinda made me sick lookin at the youtube vid with everybody shouting "USA". I mean yes we did what was needed but at the end of the day someone was still killed. killing is only acceptable in diablo if you ask me. In the case of diablo the only thing that is killed is my social life.
People die every day, many of which do not deserve to. Even if you didn't count all the awful things this man did in his past, up to the very moment of his death he was firing his weapon at U.S. soldiers.
People celebrating in the streets at someone's death, this is hardly just done in the U.S. It's more of a human reactionary mass hysteria than just some cultural thing.
There are reasons to be happy at bin Laden's death and reasons not to be. We can be happy in some sense to finally have some justice. Yeah, sure, the anti-American sentiment purveyors will probably respond with how America is guilty anyway of lots of deaths and therefore we have no right to be happy about Osama bin Laden getting killed. Seriously I'm waiting for someone here to say something like that. But we find and punish people for their crimes as best we can. Nothing is perfect and yes, lots of people get away with their crimes. It was simply nice that here was one less person who got away with his crimes.
I do think there could be some backlash to bin Laden's death. Possibly a new terrorist attack somewhere. But who knows how much al-Qaeda was dependent on bin Laden's financing and networking. I'm sure for some time he's hardly been idle and that he's been preparing other people to take over and run the organization in his stead.
That to me doesn't seem like a celebration of peace or justice. It seems like a celebration of death. Hell add a keg, which I'm sure is somewhere near the crowd and it's a party.
Like I said before I think these people are idiots without dignity and intellect. They deserve to be scorned and mocked because they are the lowest of the low and I hate idiots like that. However, there is nothing wrong in being happy that Osama's dead...in a private and dignified manner. Throwing a celebration like that is not my idea of honoring the dead who have finally been avenged.

I don't get how killing Bin Laden means that the war on terrorism is somehow finished, or that they killed off someone very crucial to it all. I think all that they accomplished in killing him, is that they pissed off all those idiots who follow him. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of those "crazy" people who think Bin Laden is more American than fucking KFC and baseball, but a lot of the people following his doctrine are indeed complete and utter morons who defame the entire religion and the region.
They have to be innovative and think of a new "bad guy". Kill some Nazi zombies, some USSR zombies, JUST KILL ZOMBIES.. EVERYONE LOVES SEEING ZOMBIES DYING
Shame on you, american citicens! Cheer upon the death of a "so called" terrorist ...
I don't believe this story anyway ...
Have you ever thought about what the USA has done to the world (and is still doing) in the past 80 years? You are one kind of a terrorist, murdering, greedy nation. Shoot your own faces and stop killing innocent people around the globe. Douchebags.
Lol@Cracked banning me because I said exactly what I said in this topic. What the fuck? I guess I should only post "hurray for his death!" on every friggin' forum. :|

What?
Self-proclaimed terrorist with a shitload of money(yeah he got disowned..but I'm sure he saved a few pennies)? Yes.
Dangerous extremist ideals endorsed by some brainwashed/dead dipshits? Yes.
I think what he's saying is that what America says on TV isn't always at face value. Look at what's going on all over the Arab world. Nearly all the masses are revolting against their leaders. Most of those leaders oppose US policy, oppose the existence of a Zionist state, and support Hezbollah. Oh, and guess what, the ones revolting are being funded by America. They're now fighting off Quaddafi. I wonder why they aren't fighting off Assad yet with him killing off his people. I wonder why they didn't butt in in Lebanon when people where dying by the hundreds. They only do what's best for them, and they're almost never truthful about their actions, or there's an ulterior motive behind the action they're taking. They don't want to help anyone but themselves, and I totally get that..why the fuck would anyone want to help out someone else when he can benefit himself? Totally justifiable. What isn't is the lies they mouth on television, trying to look like Earth's saviors.
Point is, America is like every single one of us here on this forum. They like to play games. They're doing Baal runs in random places hoping to level up to a level that enables them to do everything they want with little to no repercussions. They're doing Meph runs to get The Ring of Oil. They also have an Enigma plate, seeing as how they jump from Afghanistan, to Iraq, to Lebanon, to Syria, to Libya, to Egypt, to Israel, to Tunisia, butting in everywhere they want to.
It's slightly tough to really voice my opinion regarding this matter because I doubt anyone here would take my argument for what it is, rather than go all patriotic on my ass as if I harbor some hate towards the American citizens themselves. Well, I do hate those dudes with the accent that want every Muslim dead, or something. Want proof? IT WAS ON BORAT!

It's common for every powerful nation to try and weaken their opposition at all costs. An alliance between the arabic nations would be a danger to the power of the US. That's a fact. And that's what Iran was trying to achieve. Thus rebellions were founded in Egypt to begin with, then Libya and Syria. I'm not saying the former leaders were good, but they managed to have stability. Especially in Iraq, after Saddam's death, more people died after the war than by Saddam's actions.
As for Osama... it's also known that the CIA trained him to rally the Afghani people against the Soviet Union back in the day. Then he was an excuse to justify the war in Iraq after Saddam tried to sell oil to the European countries in euro (with US Dollars out of the equasion the US would have a huge economic disadvantage).
As Mephisto said, it's justifiable. You want to ensure you'll keep the power you have and increase it. That's pretty much all there is to it. What's on tv is simply propaganda. Because "some" might not like the reasoning behind it. Because for "some" this might feel close to tyranny and would be opposed to such actions.
*edit*
It's a hot topic alright, but let's all try to keep it civilized. Nobody is accusing nobody and it would be a shame to have to close a thread that could give us a chance to see how other people think about such a topic.

You forgot Bigfoot and Loch Ness. Alright, the latter may be a bit too Scottish but he makes pretty good stories you'll have to admit.
You know what's as bad as propaganda? Conspiracy theories. I do not doubt there are bits and morsels of truth in some of your claims but the extrapolations you make from there are just ridiculous.
Not trying to heat things up here but let us keep to what we know and has the most credibility in an objective manner.
The theory I proposed IS the most credible..Every single person in Lebanon shares the sentiment. I'm surprised the other Arab countries are so fucking dumb and oblivious.
Please try not obliterate this thread with Anti-America hate without proper elaboration and explanation that remains respectful all throughout.

Just saying, Nekro, that "what the politicians tell us" isn't always (more likely rarely is) the truth.
What i do look at is who gained something and from what i posted, you can clearly see who got something. I wouldn't be surprised if Osama isn't dead at all and they simply declare him dead. He played his part. But again, since he played his part he's no longer useful either.
As i'm not a politician or someone who'd have something to gain from all this, i want to make it clear that i have nothing against citizens of the US (or anyone for that matter). My problems are with the way politicians (globally) serve themselves instead of the people they're elected to serve and usually the middle/lower classes of the society end up paying the price. With either money or with blood.
It's funny, the american government claims to have killed Osama Bin Laden right now when obama's election campaign just has started. It's also funny they already threw him into the sea, so noone else can identify him. And it's hillarious how they did it, throwing people into the sea is not even near any muslimic tradition. It's even more hillarious their proof is a dns analyzis which isn't even possible to be done in less than 2 days.
If you believe this LOLstorie you're the same naive, brainwashed guys like him:
