Just a quick question... How many people on this thread are actually involved in underground? I'm talking about tape trading and zine trading? no one??? Thought so... You will never understand my views on music. So I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain why Cob sucks along with all the other sellout shit mentioned. and for all you people not involved in underground i suggest u get involved. Music goes beyond a record deal by a major label. And when you realize that you will be opened up to a new world of music not just metal!!! and you will better understand my hate for commercial music when you hear some of the crazy shit in underground being sold for basically nothing.
Mephisto u said u liked Ragnarok. You should check out Taake. Ragnarok is just a side project.
My sense of humor is fine, and I wasn't questioning whether it was funny or not (it's not), I was questioning the fact that that's actually what you came up with.
Just a quick question... How many people on this thread are actually involved in underground?
And what qualifies as "underground"?
Nobody prevents those people from using internet and piracy to their service, by the way. There is absolutely no need in tape exchange, that's just silly.

Ok we get it. Your an uber cool underground kid with incredible taste in music that obviously surpases our understanding of what could possibly sound good.
Quit being such an elitist about it. You act like it's your right to talk to others with this passive condescending tone by inadvertintly saying that anyone who listens to music you label as trendy (btw by you reffering to the underground and mainstream the way you do you are only furthering a trend, you act as if your being different from everyone else but really your following a large group that acts like their music is way better cuz it never gets air time) is a complete tool that has no concept of real music.
But anyway..to get a little more on topic.
I personally hate the underground metal scene. The thing that seperates them from being classified as "metal" is that their genre is a parady of metal. Its undeground for a reason, because it played out. Just because they play harder faster and are more metal doesn't mean that are doing anything original because it is not. Who inspired those underground artists? Old mainstream artists! There can be an argument for the underground that they choose to not live within the bounds of media constraints but for these branches of metal I just dont see that as being the reason why they are underground.
Originality is what these genres lack.

Having long hair, thinking you're an elitist, and gloating does not make any more "Metal" than anybody else on this planet. Being the person that you claim to be, you shouldn't even give a shit, and not talk about your taste anyway, since you're so anti-establishment and gr1m. I have long hair, a fairly large music directory full of different bands, both underground and mainstream, though lacking any gay or horrible bands. Before you go about blurting complete nonsensical bullshit thinking you're any better than that elitist around the corner, check out your own flaws and inconsistencies. In short, if you don't truly know the person you're conversing with, you're better off remaining silent, which is the case here
They happen when the person has nothing to respond with.

To Qualify as "underground" the music has to be released in the underground. It can be any kind of music bad or good. Most underground bands/people advertise new material through fliers. A lot of bands get their start in underground. for example: Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Incantation, Death, Sadus and a shitload more. That of coarse that is just music there is also art and zines (magazines) available in the underground.
I suggest reading Necroscope metalzine. Adam releases a new issue every 9 months or so. I'ts a very good way to find underground bands. It has hundreds and hundreds of pages of undergrond metal reviews. And it only costs about 9 bucks.
This thread has moved from Black/Death metal to underground and that's not why it started.
Who else here think Axel Rose could have an awesome black metal voice?? His screeching would be intense. lol

So what is underground? Is it like sewers or something?

Why do I need to read a magazine to find some metal bands? What happened to the supreme power of the internet.
And $9 for a fucking magazine is a ripoff. I'd rather sign up for Popular Mechanics or something...
