(a fragment that was broken off in the 2 previous splashes has now connected to the Frostmourne rune to make an entirely new symbol. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS? is this symbol recognizable, because it resembles more of an M shape. does this mean tommorows splash page will transform the HEL rune into something else and/or continue the transformation of the Frostmourne Symbol?)
"Everyone Will Be Really Excited" About Blizzard Announcement
This weekend the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational is being held in Paris. There will probably be some big announcements. But what could they be? At GDC Paris, Blizzard's Rob Pardo was asked about the "the new game" to which he replied:
So you want me to announce the game before our announcement? No offense, but I think there's like 300 people here, and I'll be ripped apart by 8000 people there [at the Invitational] if I pre-announce it — but it's going to be really exciting. I think everybody here will be really excited about the announcement.
I think we can safely rule out WoTLK. Sounds like Diablo 3, folks!
A hint perhaps? The pictures seem to hint at the following locations in Diablo II: Icy Cellar, Drifter Cavern, Frozen Tundra. Remove the words that we have been given and you are left with: Drifter frozen cellar! If I recall correctly, wasn't Diablo referred to as a drifter in the Diablo I closing cinematic? Could Diablo be locked in a frozen cellar?

The only reason that rune looks different now is the perspective of the picture has changed, thus where ice made the frostmourne rune look longer at the top right we now have an elongation of the top left of the rune. But this is still being caused by the "ice" underneath the rune.
The rune hasn't changed just the surrounding area, due to ice melting / cracking / falling off, or us decending deeper into the hole.
coming from you dude (The only guy i was defending to myself about the first symbol perfectly matching the Frostmourne rather than being the Nef/Shael rune) that baffles me. The first symbol is now an entirely different symbol man, there is no way of going around that.
i understand your point, but the ultimate meaning of your point doesnt make sense. The different perspective (the continuation of the blue wall breaking/melting away) now shows an entirely different symbol? understand?
Your explanation just further helps my observation of the transformation of the Frostmourne symbol into something new.
Hmm, the Hel rune from day 1 is pretty much 98% identical to the secon dday Hel rune. The first day Hel rune was a little sharper, that's it.
Protoss rune hasn't changed yet so...
From day 1 to 2 with the Frostmourne rune, the "tail" got longer at the bottom, it seems, by a bit. In image 3, the swirl to the left got much larger and the body shrunk.
What the heck are you doing Blizzard?
Maybe this is their way of saying that it has nothing to do with WoW or Warcraft, by shrinking it out of the picture?
Maybe this is just a sloppy addition, but, the rings near the top left around the Protoss sign are kind of flat, and it does not make a perfect circle, like the Diablo/Warcraft signs' circles are. Hmm.

Just the signs next to each other on days
if you wanna compare them to see how they changed:
Thank you.
this is exactly what my sister and i have been predicting this whole time. we are assuming that the HEL rune will be altered by tommorow and/or the Frostmourne symbol will continue transforming as well.
what this all means, if true...your guess is as good as mine.
Lets just put me down as being the first to FOCUS on the alteration of the symbol. you watch when it changes again tommorow, and the hel rune changes as well.
o.0 um... How would getting Diablo 3 suck?
but if it wasnt 'shakes fist'
1st symbol : Frostmourne Rune -------> Changed
(a fragment that was broken off in the 2 previous splashes has now connected to the Frostmourne rune to make an entirely new symbol. 2nd symbol: Hel Rune -------> unaltered
3rd Symbol: Protoss Rune --------> unaltered

It had better damn well be a joke.
Ok if this is frostmourne then the rune looks nothing like the rune on the sword at all.
where they hell did that url come from www.blizard.com/us?/diablo3?????? the diablo 3 gallery? thats weird.

Hellforge: Forging a passion for video games.
Can you do a fade of the "new look"
And I thought that damn sword was supposed to be licensed by Blizzard, how could the **** up the symbols so bad?
No matter what you put after the us?, it still goes to the same page. Whoever made that URL is just messing with everyone.
Edit: My bad, he was referred to as the wanderer.
I already covered this.

Thanks!
I did my best. I didn't think it was that great, haha.
Look at the picture in a normal standpoint.
Ice.
Ice is solid at less than 32F.
If there is steam it must be severely hot.
To my understanding, if this was WotLK the ice wouldn't be melting, something would be FORMING in ice.
This tiny hint of the steam is gonna keep my hope up until tomorrow.

There's a bit more too it than that frostmourne rune, it almost looks like an M now.

Does anyone else notice that there is an openning to the lower left of the circles that points directly at the opening in the little symbol beside it.
Also, there is a kind of J shape in the picture of the sword that fits almost perfectly together with the symbol.
Not sure what it means, just stating an observation.
looks a lot more like a shael rune now, its more than likely not but its less frostmorney and more shaely.
also does anybody actually find diablo scary?
