odd but there are even points to support it. Ever been to a place that you thought you've seen before? Even found how some things work without any previous experience?
anything's possible, really, our human brains arent utilized as they could and we limit our potential.
even what appears to be the craziest idea could have some truths inside.
this question kinda made me agnostic. I wont really know for sure till i die and i cant live my life torturing myself with this question
I do believe there has to be more than the flesh i am. The way i think and sometimes communicate with people without even talking or making gestures is reason enough to make me think there's more. But can I know? Not really!
Well actually there is more to you then just flesh.
"The most tragic thing about religion is that evangelical people who have such a degree of blind faith, who do and believe terrible things because they are sold as the will of God. Unfortunately this is almost half of America and leads to such things as electing George Bush, twice..."
Well you also have to add in electricity. With out that you would be no more then a lump of meat.

Personally I believe in science because science is the study of fact and is reasonable. To have faith in God or the afterlife is very warming and reassuring to a lot of people and so is not necessarily a bad thing. The problem lies in the manipulation of religion by those in power to launch holy wars or propagate the ruling party's agenda. The basis religion is founded on I believe to be a set of ethics and morals that people should abide to in order to lead and sustain a happy life within their society. Unfortunately religion has turned into a much darker, scarier animal.
IMO since the split second after the big bang, there has been no divine or higher intervention. But before that, who can really say?

---- And the evil that was once vanquished shall rise anew! ----
Life after death is a mystery which today's science cannot answer yet. For me, the question is closed.
LOL oh, come on. Your no fun

Maybe, we are put on this earth to learn everything we can, and take what we learned with us, to the next life. Seems odd... But...
I've often argued this. If there is more to life than we know of, I think that this would be the main reason for living.

What is normal? Normal is a concept that everyone or a majority of people are the same or similar. However, we know that everyone is unique. If everyone is unique, then everyone is different. If everyone is different, then everyone is weird. If everyone is weird, then everyone is normal.
I would like to know what your views on religion are, or if you have any good advice for me.
Religion, I believe I'm generally open to possibilities, though I'm a Christian. I'm definitely not a Christian who has "faith", I kind of just follow the teachings of Jesus because they're generally good. I do believe there is a god and that there is probably life after death if there is a god.
My "good advice" would be to just be open minded to religion, but don't just follow because you need something more in your life. Look into it as much as you want and then make your decision on whether there is a life after death. That's all I can give for advice.

This is something I sometimes contemplate. What if it was just that a higher being set things in motion at the beginning and had it all perfectly planned out or something and then, well to quote the bible, "saw that it was good"?
I am Aethiest, why? I downgrade all religions that have to do with this 'all-powerful God'. No offense to those who have the religion(s) but it is true. I even went through History events and there is no sign of 'God's mercy' in there. World War 2, World War 1, Holocaust, Racism (still present), and alot of other events. Come to think of it, all these 'miracles' happen in only one document, the 'Holy Bible'. How do we know if it is all true? Maybe was written by a group of people with false intentions? Maybe...
Yes, that relates directly to my point. However, spending too much time destroying god has left me to believe that there is no god, and when I die I will disappear.

Don’t take this the wrong way, for I'm not flaming you. This is a legitimate question.
Isn’t a belief in god “faith” in itself?

Well I was referring to my belief in Jesus. My belief in god is not from faith but from my own conclusions that it makes sense that there is a god.
So are you saying that “God” to you is a hypothesis rather then a fact?

Basically, yes. I don't want to say for sure that there is a god, just because I don't have proof, but my own gut feeling tells me that there is one or even more than one perhaps (just for you LinkX:)).
Are you sure you are Christian? Because, you actually think for yourself and well… I think I respect you.

Well, I follow the teachings of Christ which defines me as a Christian, I'm just willing to accept other things that might be the right answer. I know a fair amount of Christians like this, but there are definitely some that follow pretty blindly.
I'll believe in god if she is a girl, and is flaming hot!
