In US, football is most popular, so coaches tend to stress it more (and make students take steroids, or is that a good thing?!).
Like I said in a previous thread (where I responded to something that was old, but hey, looks like you made the same mistake again) don't speak on matters you have no idea what you're talking about, because it's obvious that when it comes to football, you're completely ignorant. (Much like I am with other sports besides football, baseball, and basketball).
You could say the same thing about my comment about Tennis, I suppose, but that was only based upon the Tennis players at my high school. I'm mostly talking about high school athletes, not professional. Sorry for the confusion.

No, what I meant was that it annoys me. Running and falling down does not warrant rolling on the ground whining about it.
All I can say. Is that you must get confused a lot. I never pmed you saying tennis was girly. I watch tennis now and again, and play it. I play a lot of sports, and I do not think any sports are girly. I think that I would not be as good as tennis as my friend is. He would not be as good as football as I am. I do not like a lot of things about college football. Why would I say that there are not enough injuries. I have seen a few in college that could disable your whole body. I have even been plagued by a few injuries during the offseason. It does not mean that there should be more injuries.

Yes, you are saying exactly what I mentioned. Tennis is not as supported in US as football. If you are going to argue that football is equally supported - it gets the most money. There was even a Supreme Court case about it being uneven to female sports because they do not have football.

First of all, I know people of great courage who are really bad with pain, and people who are fine with pain but wuss out at any form of danger. I advise you to not disrespect people who respond to pain. It's more of a genetical thing than anything. It is perfectly normal. In fact, you have no idea how that guy felt. Just because it looks to you he just fell doesn't mean it didn't hurt him. Hits in the knees are very painful. So are in some other places. There are some martial arts people that can make you cry just by stabbing in sensitive dots on your body...
You're sort of like Chaos, Equinox. Even if you're wrong, you think you're right.
You said I called you an idiot, NO, I called you ignorant, which you ARE in regards to the sport of football. You keep on forming opinions on things that are WRONG, and take them as truth. First, it was that football players hit people with their heads, and that they hit "carboard" things. Someone with the smallest amount of research or knowing into the matter would know otherwise. Then, you say that football coaches encourage players to use steroids. 100% false. Where do you get this BS?
Like I said, I'm not going to waste anymore time. You'll somehow turn your lack of knowledge in football, and your opinions based on those false facts, into something that I did wrong or something that is wrong with my way of seeing things.
First, it was that football players hit people with their heads, and that they hit "carboard" things.
My former friend told me that he personally, at football practice, hit things with his head, and it was a regular training thing. I was later told that it is prominent in some football-crazy areas. So I was not wrong here. Whether or not were those things cardboard didn't really matter in my argument, what mattered is that hitting things with your head that contains your brains is not healthy.

Then, you say that football coaches encourage players to use steroids. 100% false. Where do you get this BS?
Certainly not 100% false. All coaches of all sports do it, but since football is more popular, in football it will inevitably be more prominent. I saw a lacrosse coach edge on lacrosse guys. I always hear this "I was under a lot of pressure to take steroids" from weight lifters on this very forum. I saw a couple of coaches behave in ways were they were throwing indirect hints to players that they should perhaps get additional help in their sport. A lot of them gnaw at players like those are supposed to overcome their limits or something... and every proper coach knows the human body is limited. MOSTLY it's not coaches. But steroid use in America, especially in heavy sports, is very common, by statistic. Where does it come from? Peer and administration pressure. It may be exerted in many ways. You don't need a coach to come up to you and give you pills to exert pressure.

I don't remember bothering you so far, except on the pain part, but I'd bother anyone.
In my own experience, I've never been around the "steroid scene" as it's called. Nobody on my team had taken steroids, and we were the state runner-ups this year (I guess we should've taken those steroids to help us win eh? =P)
On the professional level, I could definitely see it happening, but I also think there's some false information out there.
Me and a lot of other players did take supplements, such as whey protein. Nothing like steroids, mind you. I've never been around or seen a coach ever entice a player into taking steroids. If so, that coach should immediately be removed from their position. Steroids aren't the answer, and they often do more harm than good. Maybe it was due to our program, but we were one of the most in-shape and strong teams in the state, without steroids.
Besides, most of the time players that use steroids become bulky, slow, and lose flexibility, which often makes them more prone to injury. Steroids are more harmful than they are good, no matter what the situation is sports wise. I can see people being "pressured" into it in states like Taxes and California, where it's really dominant. But it's not like it's something that happens everywhere. In fact, I'm comfortable in saying that is doesn't happen very often at all.
But, I dunno. Can we just agree to disagree?
EDIT: Oh, and the part about hitting heads. You probably misunderstood what he said. You don't hit each other with your "head", but the facemask of your helmet. I guess it looks like you're butting heads to other people, but it's more like butting faces. Besides, the helmets they have now protect against such things. They better, I had to pay over $200 for mine. XD

Winning, especially in a team game, depends on too many factors, and steroids are too miniscule here... unless the whole entire team is taking them which is not something I imagine happening in high school and college.

Actually, I wasn't really talking about people hitting each others helmets, that's relatively passive to me, from what I have seen of the football helmet it's pretty good at blocking damage, can't say same for other gear.
But I was talking about football players, while wearing helmets, hitting, uhh, constructions made out of some hard material with their heads. I saw it in a movie, my friend confirmed it. Not hitting other players.
I think most people take steriods because they are usually pressure into taking them because of their coaches nagging them to get bigger. I think when a coach tell one of their players they need to get bigger than sometimes the player might misinterpret that and think that they need to resort to steriods insted of taking the time and the effort to work out and eat right. And the thing about people hitting their heads against carboard at practices I find it funny, but from my football exp 98% time when I made contract with somebody else it was usually head first.=( I would hate to have to use a leather helmet.
the player might misinterpret that and think that they need to resort to steriods insted of taking the time and the effort to work out and eat right.
I am certain this is partially true, but I also think it may be still incorrect to pressure the player. Some people are limited to their body shape due to the thyroid or small bones - we discussed this in the Fitness thread already. I think many times coaches push on players when the player can't do nothing, and some guys care about the game too much and may resort to dangerous forms of improving themselves. Not everyone is born an athlete, and many people are a lot more limited in their ability than one may think.

Graduation sucks, I can tell you that right now. You are crowded in a fucking classroom with around 900 + people and you have to listen to the boring speeches that those fat drug addict chicks do about people displaying good attitude. After that, they send people off 2 by 2 to get their diploma, most of the time with an asshole with no life.
I highly advise getting wasted before the ceremony.
