Then, it needs some kind of miracle so that life can al of suddenly spark into existance, which is also EXTREMELY unlikely.
This is an assumption though. Since we only have Earth to base our ideas on, we don't know how big of a chance life has to come into existence. it may be (as some propose) that life is inevitable if the environment allows it.

all you guys are making good points, but who says these beings need water or air to live? why dont they brethe in dirt or eat rocks? who says they need nutrients to live how do we know?
Scientists have looked at alterantive means of life existing, and so far life based on silicon instead of carbon seems a likely candidate. Of course, we don't know whether it would work or not, but life probably doesn't need carbon and water to survive.

intergalaxy travel has been deemed impossible, if the big bang theory is true. apparently the universe is expanding at the speed of light, nothing can travel at the speed of light. now think of the universe as a balloon filling up at the speed of light, causing galaxys to move further and further apart at the speed of light.
In the end yes; but if we had the technology at this point in time we could very well travel to Andromeda without breaking any laws. However we could probably not get to the end of the Unvierse.

Hmm... I never thought of that... But if you think about it, we don't really know that light is the fastest since we know that if you throw a ball while running, the ball goes faster. But what happens if you run and turn on a flashlight?
It still goes at the same speed, as had been pointed out.

its said that in 2012 ther will be apocalypse or enter a new period of enlightenment... w/e... and my astronomy prof whose been doing this for 40 years... lawl at that... has taught us and shown us that space expands at its own pace... faster than light... light only travels so fast thru space because friction and other factors only allow it to travel a certain speed.
Light travels at 299,792,458 m/s in vacuum. There's no friction in vacuum, so I don't know how that adds up.
Space does expand faster than light though.

There is a blueprint (if you will) of a space/time travel process that involves exciting an atom until it becomes a quark gluon plasma, then stabilizing the quark until it is possible to pluck out a wormhole, the wormhole would consist of two particles that would be expanded to any size and then placed at two different points. You could slow down one,s time by introducing it to a extreme gravitational pull which would bring its time to an almost complete stop. In the end you would have one molecule at two different space times.
If I'm thinking of the same theory, doesn't that version still prevent you from going back in time to before the wormhole creation?

I The number of stars reached nearly infinite. Based on that the chance for there NOT to be other intelligent life in the universe is astronomical.
I've read there are (estimate of course) 80 billion galaxies out there.

Ooh a very fun subject. Aliens probably do exist. The odds of them being able to visit earth are slim. In the event that earth can be visited by aliens and that they are capable of television thought up speeds of travel then our physics are wrong. Always a possibility.

The size of space of space continuum is infinite, thus everything and anything you can possibly imagine must exist someplace, somewhere. The best part is no matter how large you think you can imagine the size of it all, it is constantly expanding at an exponential rate that is too high for even earths most powerful computers to even begin to calculate.
I think a better question lies not with their existence, but how close they actually are to our minuscule planet. Or maybe they are already here?

it is most certainly not expanding at a rate greater than we can calculate. If it were, we would be unable to see anything out in the Unvierse, for no light would ever have had the chance to reach us; space would have expanded faster than light (which it isn't currently).

eh lets put it this way... at the rate that technology and intercountry relations are going...the human race will probably destroy ourselves before we contact somthing

Federer lost Wimbledon. Why? Becase none of you bastards cheered for him...
A very big project released talks about how there is a ton of proof of Aliens and UFO's by Very high ranked officials, and the project is about them getting the Government to finally just say that they are real.. so yeah, there is absolutely life out there.
nothing like earth... we all evolved from one ancestor thats why (the majority) have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 nostrils, one mouth so i woldnt even be able to fathom what an alien would look like from a scientific perspective
I would think there are different kinds of aliens types. There are the nice ones that look like they think it is. (You know the green skin) Then there are the ones that are vicious killing machines.

I still believe in a higher being, and I believe that god is the one. I think that is greek mythology. that he could be all the gods. I am just thinking here.
