So with unrealistic i mean that i don't see Hellgate London as being a realistic fictional game and thus some things can be unrealistic in function of what hellgate wants to be (sexy bitches or extremely cool guys slaying hordes of demons in a fictional alternative futuristic London)
Agreed.
All of this is saying like.
Take transformers for example
"ROBOTS IN DISUISE, WTFLOXROLER"
Its like calling a starwars flick unrealistic.
This is a a Action MMORPG with guns that shoot posion pods.
Sent in the future in a Hellspawned earth filled with groups of heroes
fighting evil from the planet.
you: THATS UNREALISTIC.
But then, you bring up that fact that you have yet to see this game as unrealstic. Females being portayed as perfect skinny sexy crack whores.
I'm allergic to bad rap videos that expose women.
So this arguement is just based on the fact on the female character.
which..look in a magazine
and see how many skinny sexy crackwhores you can spot.
sex sells.
and women are portrayed very poorly.
that I agree with.

You are really confusing realism with fiction here.

Another thing that bothered me about one of those Hellgate trailers was some of the cliche lines like, "I won't leave you!"
Or I hate how that chick is protecting that little girl and she tells her to run away while she fights this big fuck off demon and the agent chick gets slammed down to the floor and the little girl looks back and screams her name. I think it's more likely a little girl like that would just keep running.
What is fiction.
Fiction is a made up story that involves a reality similar to ours. Or a reality that isnt related to ours at all.
Realism is our reality.
What am I confusing it with.
I think the point is is that yes, there is fiction. But when it comes to the more simpler things, the things that apply to common sense no matter the more global fictional setting, there can still be things that are unrealistic. Know what I mean?

LOL. Realism is basic laws. Such as emotions, the laws of physics, and other things. The kind of fiction that I prefer takes reality that we know and makes changes to it. Take Azimov:
What did he do? He took the idea of humans having artificial intelligence work for them. But he didn't just add robots and that's it. He created three laws that would make those robots make sense. He modeled the way humans would behave in relation to having robots around. He modeled how some humans hate them and some love them and they create two opposing factions, ones using AI, the others using non-intelligent robots. And so on. He adjusted everything, modeled everything. That is realistic science fiction.
Anything without explanation at all is either surreal or allegorical. If it isn't, it's probably crappy fiction. Dark Tower is surreal, for instance, nothing is explained.

Yeah Im sorry I said that wrongly.
Everything Stephen King writes doesnt explain itself.
"What do you got for me King"
*grabs lamp*
"A HAUNTED MONSTER LAMP OOO OOO WOOOAAA"
To just further explain my point, just think of it this way. If you are fighting demons in a post apocalyptic setting, why would you not cover your entire body? Why would you take the chance of running through an alley and scrapping your thigh on a nail sticking out of a board somewhere. In other words, all I'm saying is that it is not very realistic to appear ultra sexy in that kind of setting because I would think a person would want to have a certain degree of protection from the elements. The kind they cannot get if they're running around like they're in some sort of lingerie fashion show. In other words, it just seems to defy common sense; or what is realisitc.
I understand sex sells. I do not have a problem with that. I just wish sometimes the makers of games like these would rely less on that sort of thing, that's all I'm saying really. I don't think you have to completely scrap sex appeal, just don't rely on it to the point where it gets too unrealistic.

Stephen King is a pretty bad writer. But, his Dark Tower, one of his good works, is surreal allegorical fiction. It's a study of a man with a useless goal, who sacrifices everything in his path for that goal. It's an allegory, that is why its fiction does not require realism.
That's from Family Guy, lol. Pretty much underlies my opinion of SK, he's a belletrist for me.
Yes its not realistic at all, but i'm kinda getting sick of "realistic", its just as getting sick of "sexy bitches".
Hmm. Are you sure you're not just sick of people complaining about lack of realism? Cause I still don't feel like there's enough of it in video games. I'll admit though, that is just my preference, to have as much realism in a game as possible.
For instance, I think it's funny in Oblivion how you can sneak up to someone in a dark dungeon, fire an arrow at point blank range into their face, and then have them run around for a bit looking for you, then resheathing their sword saying, "I could've sworn I heard something..."
too bad Stanley Kubrick's movie was totally different from the novel.
I liked the movie, but I didn't read the book.
But the worst case of not-close-to-the book was The Lawnmower Man. The movie had nothing to do with the tiny short story Stephen King wrote, I actually read it to see what it was about. The movie had TINY element from there, tho...
Back then I thought it was the first about virtual reality. I wonder who started with all the virtual reality, though.

Im not.
I said that the arguement was about how the WOMEN were portayed.
Siaynoq's Playthroughs
yes.
Very close to my thoughts on it.

Hehe. "When can I have it?"

I really don't think any of the 3D artists were thinking about this.
Because this world of sex, we were raised on it.
They just, made the best damn sexy bitch demon slayer they could XD.
And, they were definatley all males.
You were the one who started saying it .
That's from Family Guy, lol. Pretty much underlies my opinion of SK, he's a belletrist for me.

The greatest book he ever wrote..
Stephen King's The Stand
I loved it.
It was a masterpiece.
I also have to say.
This was the most rapid posting arguement ive ever been in.
Siaynoq's Playthroughs
Well, I have the opposite problem, Sianoq. I shoot an arrow a mile away sitting in a dark corner and they instantly know where I am. WTF?
I didn't read the Stand, but I heard it was good, too.
too bad Stanley Kubrick's movie was totally different from the novel.
King made his own TV special on it, I own it on DVD.
Its more true to the story.
I also liked Cell.
Who doesnt like mad raving cell phone zombies.
