Yeah, if society turns oppressive then perhaps throwing a jolly revolution is the answer. Things just aren't bad enough yet to nessecitate the attached risks of anarchy.
There's still time to use the current system to improve one's state of being.
i was talking more about an "ideal" society. I did say before that if the people were ready for it, there wouldnt be a need for it. There was a Maya society i think that didnt use money and it worked pretty well till the spanish invaders wiped them out. Thats one kind of Anarchy. A society without a system in which everything "would" find its "natural order". The world aint ready for it yet. Not ready for Communism either. It looks like Imperialism and consumism or how u call it, is the only way to have a system that actually works. But we dont have to like it, do we?

Man is destructive, egoistic, and greedy, and that is the way man will always stay somewhere at the bottom of his soul. I don't think complete removal of human instincts is possible in any society. That means that an anarchic society will hardly ever work the "good way". IMHO.
I made this topic, so I pretty much decide what is offtopic or what is not. We are in a discussion that came from the movie Fight Club, so we are not so offtopic...
The thing that I don't like about horror movies today is the following:
a) the random bangs and loud sounds all of the sudden
attempts to use disgusting stuff to scare or intimidate (doesn't work for me, probably because I happened to watch a very gory movie at the age of 6 in a cinema because conductors confused the ages for the two movies, lol)
c) absence of an atmosphere
d) unoriginal plot that doesn't really draws you in
e) stupid behaviour of main heroes
f) ...
Hmm, there hasn't been a decent horror flick in some time. I think film makers are too hung up on gore these days.
That's a good observation, actually. Horror movies these days lack subtlety. It's either lots of gore, or a stupid woman walking backwards for some reason and you are waiting to be startled.
Movies can be scary in unexpected ways though. And this is what I do like about The Shining. The scene where the wife is running from her husband through the hotel and she happens along the room with the guy wearing the suit and someone in a bear costume.
There was always something extremely unnerving about that scene. Maybe it was just the brilliant direction of Kubrick, who did many other great films. But you don't see horror scenes like this anymore.
Out of context though, just looking at the picture, it may seem kind of silly. But I'm sure anyone else who has seen it understands what I mean.
Well, considering how many times have I mentioned it, I can as well add it to the Great Movies list:
The Thirteenth Floor - this is one of those movies about, um, virtual reality and stuff. What I really liked is how they showed everything. The scene where the guy came out of the car and just saw that even gave me a small shock. This movie came out a month later after Matrix, but has nothing to do with it except the basic idea of an artificial world, but that is as far as I'll go about telling you about it.
You should count how many times I mentioned lexx or anything related to it, lol. And that is the last movie anyone should watch.
Anyway, the best movie for anyone would be Knockin' on Heaven's Door, believe me. That is the movie about which I can say, if someone doesn't like it, "man, you are out of order"
but 13th was a good one. I can't find it now. I really feel like watching it.
I read a little bit about Lexx on Wikipedia, but it didn't spark my imediate attention. And I've heard of this Knockin' on Heaven's Door before, though not in great detail I admit.
If there was something I would have anyone watch it would be an anime called Haibane Renmei. Except it's not a movie so I didn't mention it here. Until now that is...

Indeed, but the crowd gets what the crowd wants, and that appears to be blood.
Though I thought Saw was pretty good, but that was more because of the elaborate scheme he set up and excuted rather than the disgusting scenes.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Sorry i am late on this one. But ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!
You had better be joking about not knowing the greatest comedy legend who ever step foot out of Glasgow!!!!!!
Best movies ever made:
Beverly Hills Cop Series
And Robing Hood: Men in Tights
And I never rememeber the crew members, unless I really love something.
I reallly like The Shining. Definitely a movie you need to be in the mood for though. Not something you can just watch casually.
And I only kind of remember The Thing. Except for the video game on the Xbox. That game was hard as hell.

Possibly one of my favorite comedies was The Big Lebowski. "Are we gonna die Walter?" "No Donnie, these men are cowards."
Hehehe, silly nihilists.
