There probably will be an asian city in Diablo 3 because if you look at the World Sanctuary map, near the top right on the diablo 3 website you will see an island with a name that sounds asian.
This would be pretty cool actually. If there were something like the Assasin homelands up in the mountains with monestaries and stuff. (Sort of like the Shaolin Monks or something).
I wonder if the Assassin wasn't first designed with Asian influences in mind? I do recall seeing artwork of one with katanas at her side in the strategy guide, I wonder if I can find a link to it online....
Also, as LinkX pointed out, the 'sin is fairly similar to the ninja... and she has black hair, but that doesn't neccessarily mean anything, heh.
Perhaps this time there will be an Asian inspired class. There could be a new variation on the Assassin (not that I'm counting on it). I hope it is a monk, though, instead of a samurai. Don't get me wrong, samurai are frikkin sweet, but a bit overused in my opinion.
Edit: Well, come to think of it, monks kind of are too. Well, I guess I just prefer them. Haha sorry.

Remember the String of Ears
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
Just a few things I remember learning in ANcient History class:
-> When Rome was at the peak of its power, it had a key trade route with China to obtain Silks and I think spices (hey it was half a year ago!). Also at that time, Rome considered China to be the Eastern Rome, in the fact that the Chinese empire was dominant in the east like how rome was in Europe.
-> When I first hear Druid, I do think of Celtic stuff and all that - no idea why. Mainly UK stuff, I don't know why I think of it because I don't know much about it. But also I learned that Shinto was founded in Japan and was one of the early religions. Like Elfen said, it had to do with animals and guidance. It was basically a naturalistic path of life, with shamans and whatnot. I wish I had my notes for this. o.o" So it is a slight possibility that Druids could be seen as Japanese. However someone mentioned about what would happen to their Barbarian ancestry? All that would get mixed up and be confusing. Hmm maybe Blizzard will find a way to make sense of it all? x_x'
But I think Asian culture and architecutre would be great to see in a Diablo game, as long as it is done *properly*. But this is Blizzard we're talking about, so if they made it, I'm sure it will turn out great.

Seeing the introduction of the witch-doctor and all, I think blizzard is looking to expand the amount of cultures in Diablo's world. So a Samurai or an Asian themed Character/Act doesn't seem to far-fetched at the moment.
I see stick huts in the video!! I am still right!! Ha Ha. But yeah, that makes for a more interesting culture, however I feel an asian one is easier to do in Diablo. There is even an asian sounding island in Diablo Xiansai.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
It is Xiansai.

But it might only sound asian.
its just your opinion that they are. and i do not agree with you

Who says an African themed act means tiny stick or mud huts?
An African themed act could be rendered like this:

Haha well obviously. I said at her side.
Obviously she's not at all very Asian anymore, but perhaps they were considering Asian influences at one point. Not that it matters.
