please, if you all could stop having flame and spam wars in my thread it would be greatly appreciated. that invludes spanishbard, chaosdragon, Jazz, Equinox, and blades. thank you for responding there Silver, but what happens when there is like 100 new members a day, and we start to get a ton of stupid threads that are really gay, and would end up causing people to have flame and spam wars with each other? oh, and Freak_of_Nature, although i dont know who your are, nor do i care to know who you are, thank you for having an on topic flame. Even though i asked you people not to flame me, at least he stayed on topic for his flame, but please, dont come back here again to degrade me and my ideas, thanks.
just to let you all know, i personally have no personal hate or dislike of any certain member here, because im not the kind of person who goes around flaming stupid threads, and hacing dumb discussions that cause people to get into love/hate relationships.
If you want to know what i feel classifies someone else as a new person, whether they have been here or not? its when they have dumb flame wars in threads like mine that dont require you guys to hate on each other. when i was new, i always posted my ideas on topic, and never flamed anyone. i dont think i ever flamed anyone until i had like 700+ posts (which for me was like a year later), and it might have been like once or twice. also, if you act mature, you will be more liked. spanish bards, johns, and Chaosdragons fight here made it clear to me, that they are all very immature, and they arent people that im going to associate myself with. I'm not going to hate on them, or dislike them, im just not going to spend any time with them. If you want good examples of members that most people like, look to Winstonthe4th, whiteghost, Elfenlied, SilverSurfinStud, Ferret, Carloseus, Jarhead(most of the time), Stormcat, and if there are any others that know you are mature, good members that i forgot, i appologize.
Whiteghost, i like your idea on the password for an area on the forums, maybe Umaro or Elfen will think it over and get back to us on that. props =)
just to get this cleared up, i said that from what i have seen of fbim, i have no problem with him, but seeing as how i have seen VERY little of him, im not going to make any judgements. stop flaming me on that please.

Isn't it against website rules to:
- flame;
- go offtopic;
- flood.
You all did all of the above. There are no rules on this forum. There are no moderators on this forum. Get on with it.
He's not an asshole, I am not a bitch. You just need to stop being such a wuss and take internet SO GODDAMN SERIOUSLY. Go outside, take a breather.
You have nothing but my opinions you disagree with.
Are not opinions the only thing I can go with? Since I do not know you in real life, aren't they way people view things the basis of wars?
The reason I think your a bitch is the reason you think you are not and why you think I'm an idiot, or a wuss, I am not really offended, I really just don't agree with your guys' opinions which is the only thing I can base you on as people in an online discussion. I don't see how you don;t understand this basic concept.... it's well, pathetic.
P.S. I think you're the one who needs to take a breather, I am very content with arguing, I don't get frazzled.
P.S.S I'm done arguing in this thread, since it is in fact disrespectful, you can create a new thread or PM me if you wish to continue.
Spanish I have ignored you, so I can't read any of your posts, just to let you know.

MSN? Email? PM's? And not PM's along the ways of "why did you say this", but just to get to know the person. Me and chaos did that, we don't hate each other, even though we disagree on everything...

So everyon person is a bitch because they don't think they are. OK.
Quote from "Blades11" »
and why you think I'm an idiot, or a wuss
A wuss in this case is a person preoccupied with internet life enough to care.

I really just don't agree with your guys' opinions which is the only thing I can base you on as people in an online discussion.
You don't disagree with opinions, you despise us. Which is ignorant.

I am not the one here chasing SpanishBard in every thread. I am not the one here pretending to be neutral when attacking SpanishBard, or suggesting he's a new mamber, which he's not, and, which, apparently, should make him lower than fbim.
Fbim: you're out of line for telling him to go fuck himself; you can say that you hate him in a more mature manner than this obscene insult
Spanishbard: as you said earlier that you can choose not to retaliate and therfore not instigate a flamewar. How is making a smartass reply not about to instigate a flamewar?
You are both at fault. This is a serious matter we are discussing.

Ok, so... as you all know, Umaro sold the domain name to Blizzard, which kinda pisses me off, seeing as he never consulted any of us. but, seeing as though he doesnt have to, and he probably made some money, im not gonna be mad about it.. althought it would have been nice to know
There seems to be a lot less ads though. Whether or not the ads return, I guess we shall see.

so yeah, back on topic, whats going to happen to us? maybe we could have our own little similar forum thing like what the mods have? or something? im not someone who is going to enjoy having 100 new members a day, things would get confusing and i would get mad and leave, which is what i will likely do when we get over populated... unless something is done to keep our little community that we had before the domain was bought, the same.
I'm not entirely against this idea. But I also am afraid of alienating newer members who may really have great things to contribute to the site, either in their artwork or even just their quality of posts. Everyone deserves a chance to establish themselves. And they should let their activity on the forums speak for itself.
And just because we have lots of new members with tons of posts already, this shouldn't be too much of an issue, except for the mods where we may not always get to cleaning up the amount of spam that we'd like to. The things is, it doesn't take long to develop a reputation around here. So you may have a particular person with over a 1,000 posts who has been here for not very long, but if their quality of posts aren't great, the members that you find worthwhile are likely to catch on to that as well. But I know some member who have maybe 200 posts, and whenever these people post, I pay really close attention to what they have to say because I know they usually don't post as much unless they have something really worthwhile to say. And that kind of reputation is far more valuable than number of posts. While others with tons of posts with rarely anything good to say, they're just kind of hurting their own reputations and ensuring that no one takes them seriously in the future; this also makes people typically skim over there posts anyway and get to the better ones.

oh, and the reason i put it in here, is mainly because most of the people that i care about and care for their opinion look in this section of the forums. plus, i didnt want to put another post into the stupid general discussion thread that is over filled with stupid conversation.
At any rate, perhaps you should give us an even clearer idea of what this section would be like and who would be able to participate in it.
The way i see it, those that are considered "original" members or part of the veterans of this site will know that they are, and will know who else is.
Hey i got an idea, i don't know if this has been said but on my other forums they have certain threads that require passwords to access. We could do the same.
Don't really know what the point is though? What are you going to discuss in there? How horrible newbies are? The good old times?

I think the whole idea seems rather unuseful. The moderators have a separete forum for obvious reasons, but I do not see why that should be the case for "veteran" members, whatever that means. I am of the belief that anyone should be able to prove themselves, regardless of how often they feel like posting here or when they stumbled upon this site. No one should be alienated based on join date and post count.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I am also a member of a band forum and they handled this situation very well. There was a kind of probation period of 1-4 months. When you first join and even before joining you can see all the threads relating to the forum in this case Diablo. Then after the probation period there was a new section reveled call Interact. In these interact threads was a place where the older members could post to each other with out being bombarded by new people. It allowed more of a trickle of new members in to the interact because most people didn't stick around that long. This also cut down on the Aliases (people that got band from the forum) from disrupting threads of the more loyal and "old timers" of the community. I now I am one of the new members that you are talking about. But I still understand where you are coming from. I wouldn’t want my forum overrun by new F***ers ether.

This is BS if you ask me. I never saw a forum overrun by anyone as long as there was no inter-forum rivalry of some kind, and I don't see it there. As long as mods take care of it, no one bothers anyone.
It's like you are saying "you all outside of SICK deal with the new members on your own while we chill out in the private section". Maybe privatize the whole forum, then, and make a few small sub-areas for the newbies?
alright, never mind, this was a bad idea, i appologize for making this, and causing any disputes between members to happen, apparently, people took this the wrong way, and new members along with old members started bashing others. phrozen dragon had a good point saying that "what would we talk about?"
Ferret had a good idea, but i will leave it up to him to bring it up to you guys, or to the other mods.
Please, if someone who has the power to do so reads this, close this thread, thank you.
