Soooo...does it mean that my 1st hit on Diablo will grant me about 2 million HP? Since it says "Steal 3.0% of Target's Life per hit", Therefore, Diablo's Life. Annnnd Diablo doesn't lose 2 million hp, am i right?
And i believe this amount of life stolen drops as Diablo's life gets lesser and lesser.
I bet its a typo and it should say something like "Steal 3% of the dmg u dealt to the target", like do 1000dmg and stealing 30hp, or steal based on YOUR hp, im hoping for the last one
Even if it works that way, and it is not a typo...Well, like crushing blow in D2, it was reduced agaisnt bosses(1/4 on normal, 1/8 on bosses). And remember, this is monsters CURRENT health, so you do less and less damage with this. Or, like static field in d2, it had a hard cap
And as someone else said, there were diminishing effects against bosses. You could whirlwind into a pack of oblivion knights and hit just a couple to bring your life to full, but you don't get the same effect when hitting big D.
In beta, it was hard to see because the numbers were so low. Feel free to correct my math, but if you did 60 dps, and had 3% life leech, you get roughly 2 hp per hit. Of course, that's on average. You could crit for higher and get more life back on the crit, etc.

You could get 2x crossbows, or 2x any weapons really that each did 1.20 ll. I don't recall the other item, belt maybe, that gave ll. But yes the number was really low making the effect hard to see.

I see it, but has it ever worked that way?
I don't remember it working that way in D2, and imagine it will work the same way as it did in D2.
Tbh, if there is confusions bout it here, then someone should probably ask on the official forums and try for a blue response.
In D2, it was a percentage of the damage that you deal. So if you deal 10,000 damage with 10% life leech, you leech 1,000 life per hit.

It works with all damage skills, melee, bows, spells, etc.
It does in D3. It does not work that way in D2.
