Have their ever been any angels or notable demons that have died and stayed dead? It seems like they always come back.
Their essences are immortal...hence..cannot be killed. They can only be sent to the Abyss (where they come from) or to the Void (which is described as complete nothingness (but they can return from that as well like we see with Lilith.

Lilith came back?
Are you talking about when you kill her on Bnet on D2? I heard that wasn't canon.
Nope it was already like this 3000 years ago in the Sin War trilogy.

i think it is from the worldstone, and i think the stones changed colors because of the souls they carried
I'm pretty sure that's how things are, Malic used a shard of the Worldstone to transfer his spirit from one person to another, so it works pretty much like the Soulstones.
Maybe but Astrogha is a favored pet of Diablo so that's pretty much a biased point of view.
Well who's point of view is that written in? Because Astrogha would be referring to himself as a different entity (third person right?) if he wrote it.

The book is written in third person so there is no reason to think this was in any way from Astrogha's point of view...
I think Duriel And Andariel, die permanently, but it's just a thought

i think the novels, in the Sin War
Yep...exaclty right.
The Lilth we see on B.net isn't the real Lilith...and you are right, it isn't canon.
But the Sin War books are. Lilith was banished to the Void in the Sin War (you find this out in the first book) but she managed to find her way back.
Exactly. Inarius is a prime example. Mephisto trapped him in his room of mirrors for all of eternity.
Yeah, but what is eternity if you can put an end to it
Well played sir, well played.
Well The soulstones power were meant to be eternal, but they weakened over time
Wonder where the soulstones actually came from, I know Tyrael gave them to the Horadrim.
Some people think they were part of the worldstone, but I'm not so sure.
I mean they were all different colors right? The worldstone was all red.
Unless that's just a plothole.
Red cause it was corrupted maybe

From Scales of the Serpent page 72
"Astrogha was a demon of ambitions. He had sat near the taloned hand of Diablo, greatest of the Prime Evils, and had learned well"
So Mephisto is the oldest, Diablo the greatest, and Baal is...well...Baal.

Well if its from a outside party writing it why would they really lie about it?
I always assumed Diablo was the most powerful anyway, maybe not by a ton, but some.
