Why make a total conversion if you're happy with the project as it is?
Don't play dim with me, Phrozen. How many times people have demanded Diablo III on this forum? How many times they said they are bored of Diablo II? Same with the Thief fans. They want more, they have played the original games 100 times over and they want something new. Except those people go and make it, and the Diablo people just sit and beg Blizzard.
I could say "Why do you want Diablo III if Diablo II is perferct already?"
It's not popularity. Thief is much less popular than Diablo. It's quality of fans. Diablo is a much simplier game than Thief and attracts more simple people who are usually not able to support such a serious project as a Total Conversion. Thief, tho, is an elitist game, and has elitist fans.
Yet strangely the largest point of discussion in this thread was not about boobies, despite an overwhelmingly vast majority of members being male.
Should I feel bad for thinking there's nothing wrong with having Andariel in the game, but hating the idea of giving Diablo visible genitals?
That seems like two seperate parts of the same topic. People think less of breasts than they do reproductive organs, lots of female demons in games have their breasts showing and no one cares, the second you start talking about a penis, then you have people voicing an oppinion.

Until this thread I can't recall anyone taking any real offense and the fact Andariel and well every single Succubus in the Diablo games, are all walking around topless.
It wasn't until we started talking about nether regions that people noticed.

Or, the Diablo players capable of such a project realise that there will be a Diablo III. Thief's fans know there most likely won't ever come a sequel, seeing as the developer doesn't exist anymore. Realizing that there are legal issues with a Diablo project and the fact that a Diablo III (probably) will come and will be superior to anything fan-made in every way, the reward versus the time spent doesn't lend itself to a fan made sequel.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

[Option 2 is voting for every demon to have genitals, whilte Option 3 is voting for just minor demons to have genitals. So when tallying them up, 2 is added to 3 because 2 includes the people who want minor demons to have genitals]
No-genitals is catching up with yes-genitals, it seems.
I have one question for you Artumentis. Why did you make this thread? I am just asking. Was it because you were bored, or did you just want to talk about genitals.

That question is not legit, Stonebreaker. It's a forum. You make threads in a forum.

The hasn't been a sequel to Diablo for 10 years. There has been no hint of a sequel all this time. I don't see anything stable about Diablo III here. If you ask me, about time to start thinking about a fan-made sequel. And, with such a big time gap, D3 will just not be the same.
There has been a sequel to Thief (Deadly Shadows), except the fans did not accept it. Fans may not accept Diablo III, in fact, but they will just go away and die, they won't make their own Diablo III like the Thief fans, they are too weak. We saw that with WarCraft already, no one ever did anything about it.
There are no such thing as legal issues here - the heXen brand and the heXen company (Ravensoft), for instance, still exist, but the fans still named their TC game "Hexen: Edge of Chaos" and nobody sued them; moreover, Ravensoft supports their project. :rolleyes:
I was just asking him a question. Why he would make this thread.
What's the point of your question? He made a thread to sprout a discussion, to find out how people of this forum feel about offensive realism. I think you need to check the first post of this thread out. As far as I can see, you are just trying to flame him that he likes talking about genitals or some crap like that. And, to say such a thing about a wise poster as Atrumentis, is, at least, low.
If he didn't make it someone else would have eventually.

I was not trying to flame him, and yes I did read the first post. I just wanted to see what brought him to making this thread. Like how did he come up with it.

lol, I came up with this thread after seeing this picture somewhere on the internet. I think it was in the concept art thats in Tales from Sanctuary.
Well not as soon as I saw it. It stuck in my mind for a few days as it kept sparking thoughts about using more realistic elements to make the demons seem real, because I'm just having trouble imagining demons as being real. There's always that thing in the back of my mind that tells me that its just a game, or just a movie, or just a book. I am a thinker, Stonebreaker. I thought about it all for a few days before finally deciding to ask everyone else the same question I had asked myself. And I'm glad I did, this is an interesting discussion. I was afraid people would think I was just being immature and inappropriate though. But lucky they didn't.
lol, Stonebreaker, you seem to want some sort of personal information from me that would suddenly explain why I made this thread. The discussion isn't really about the sex side of it though, and neither are the motives for discussing it, so its not really that important. I'm not looking for an excuse to talk about/play something that is arousing lol. Just something that is more realistic.
EDIT: Thanks for defending me, Equinox, I appreciate it. But its ok, I'm fine with answering it. (It kind of ended up causing flame anyway though lol).

But then again people have never needed anthing stable to believe in it.

I know you dislike Warcraft 3, but most other people don't. In fact, a lot of people, me included, think it's a great game and vastly superior to WC2. Why would we want to make a sequel then?

Ravensoft and Blizzard are not the same companies, and Blizzard can easily shut down fan projects should the like to do so.

To me it seemed slightly ambiguous, that's all
No genitals -> 20 votes (Option 1)
Great Evil genitals (including minor demons) -> 11 votes (Option 2)
Minor-demon genitals -> 12 + 11 = 23 votes (Option 3 + 2)
[Option 2 is voting for every demon to have genitals, whilte Option 3 is voting for just minor demons to have genitals. So when tallying them up, 2 is added to 3 because 2 includes the people who want minor demons to have genitals]

No-genitals: 28

Sorry, Phrozen, yes-genitals sped up.
best I can figure is
NO: 20
Yes: 12 (26)
