Did no one notice in Cain's Journal the Witch named Adria?
"There is someone else, however: someone who has come, while others flee. I am not sure what to make of this Adria, who openly calls herself witch. She has access to all manner of arcane knowledge that even I do not. Why has she come here now, at this heinous time? I feel there is something amiss about her." - Cain
"Adria is a witch who lives in the town of Tristram. She buys and sells scrolls, staves, spellbooks, and potions, and seeks a rare Black Mushroom for one of her concoctions. Her fate by Diablo II is unknown, though she was likely killed by the demons that invaded the town."
Does anyone think she will make a return in Diablo 3?

Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"
Well then it sounds very promising to see some of the old faces, but how long was it from D1 to the end of D2? If it was too long it would seem they should have all died.

She's pretty much the only character from Tristram (except Cain ofcourse) who's believed to still be alive, and survived the onslaught.

It has been said... that in the end of all things... we would find a new beginning. But as the shadow once again crawls across our world... and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind... the people pray for strength and guidance. They should pray for the mercy of a swift death... for I've seen what the darkness hides!
... I don't think it's safe here.
Hoping for Pink Chain Lightning in D3!

Well in the Lore and Environment video (or somewhere else) we're told that we'll be seeing some old faces from the Diablo series. I wouldn't rule out that we'll be seeing Adria again in the New Tristram.
It has been twenty years, but I would take a guess and say we'll be seeing two or three of the residents from Diablo I's Tristram in Diablo III's. I would guess we'll see Adria, Griswold and someone else. I have a sneaky suspicion it could be Ogden but we will see.
Griswold is dead. Cain and Adria are the only survivors.
Gheed, Warriv and Adria are the ones i'm thinking will be back in tristram...
I think you're confusing Tristram with the Rogue Encampent. Adria is from Tristram in Diablo I, while Gheed and Warriv are from the Rogue Encampment in Diablo II. And instead of Adria, I think you're thinking of Akara.
Funny how there always seems to be a wise or mature female with a name that starts with A.
Adria from Tristram - mysterious witch gives very wise advice
Akara from Rogue Encampment - she's the leader of the rogues
Atma from Lut Gholein - owner of the Tavern
Asheara from Kurast Docks - Iron Wolves leader
Anya from Harrogath - One who gets trapped in ice by Nihlathak
Its also stated in Cain's journal that everyone died except for Griswold, who was cursed to remain undead and have an insatiable hunger for flesh. It don't believe it states Adria's fate though, it just talks about her (from what I remember).
She had better day that at least once. That line is so classically Diablo. Just like "Stay a while and listen." and "This does not bode well (for you) my friend."
There was talk of her as a trapped soul in act 4 awhiles back, hopefully that was just a rumour, I want her as her D1 self, or at least more like it, she would be 2o years older. Wonder if she still has a thing for black mushroom?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Witches/Mages/Sorcerers of any kind will always be at the base of a good RPG- not to mention they always have the coolest attitudes (Ormus, Akara, Adria), and I'll never be able to forgot Adria's quaint little hut at the far edge of Tristram. I spent so much time there- in comparison to the rest of Tristram- buying her spell books and such.
*Cries* I missed that sense of belonging as a caster within the world in Diablo II (partly also because of the lack of ROBES, damnit!)
If I don't see her return, I will be adequately pissed.

Indeed. So many cool mages in RPGs games. Edwin Odesserion in BG. I love that egotisical, sarcastic, manical, self absorbed, power hungry son of a bitch. But back to Diablo (for a second). Mages rules.

Come play Baldur's Gate II. You get tons of robes, it's about the only thing mages can actually wear. They can't wear armor, or the get penalized and can't cast spells. No Sorceresses wearing enigma in heavy plate mails in that game.
I miss my witch on the outskirts of town with all the good stuff. Books of inferno, flamewave, town portal, stone curse, elixirs of magic.

She was just that witch in the town of Tristan. <sp>

Worshiped throughout Greece, she was the goddess of love, marriage, and family life; she was also worshiped as a war goddess, as a Sparta, and as a sea goddess and patroness of sailors.
AND NO I WILL NOT MAKE MY SIGNATURE SMALLER, GO F.O.

Indeed, none at all. And if there were, Boo would eat their eyes out with his great hamster fury!
I am lost in your words, Boo thinking you are just plain ducky, onward!!
If Adria is back I am glad. We need more character like Adria in games, so mysterious yet so wise.

Agreed. I would like to see her play a big role in D3. Perhaps a sinister role like Nihlithak (sp?) and helps bring the prime evils back? Now that I say that it doesn't sound as good.

I can't wait to see her. I've always wanted to find out more about her. She's so cool.
Don't worry man, Adria is soo back! She's so wise and mysterious, I love her.
Of course she'll be back, you can't go to Tristram without buying mana pots from Adria.

But with a appearence in cain's journal i think we are going to see so importance with her, whether she be dead or alive.
Making Controversial points one post at a time!

I'm actually excited to be returning to Tristram.
