This storyline is based on some "holes" in the story as far as i know feel free to clarify any fasle deductions, From what we are told the purpose of the soul stone is to contain the spirit entity of the evils once thier physical form is slain or else they will be manafested back into a physical form by feeding off the feelings from mortals of terror destrution hatred, smashing the soul stones supposeddly "destoys" the souls so they cannot manafest in the mortal realm, is anyone able to clarify is the word destroy is actualy used as it would be possible to loop hole cains wording into that when the stones are destoyed the souls are sent back to hell not destroyed, we must ask ourselves if destroying the stones destroys the soul why did the horadrim bury them instead of destroying them for good, When the stones are destroyed the souls all return to hell at which point the prime evils take control of hell again, however at this stage the worldstone is gone and the dimension between the three realms has weakend, allowing transition due to high powers, we start the game as a char in the middle of the sin war where angels and demons run rampant in the world, act 1 could be fighting on the side of the angels which would be a proper battlefield with angels and demons fighting similar to act 5 bloody foothills but more realistic, not like 3 barbs vs 100 demons, the hero would establish a reputation as being a new hope for mankind after slaying the luitenants of the evils, eg Belials Grimspike, the character who was discluded from d1 but can found on the discs mpq file, his power is described as "immeasurable" for those who havnt discovered all the extras from d1, after killing all luitenants, that 7 1 for each evil you will venture into hell possiblely with a sqaudran of elite angel mercs or something and you go to each of the 7 areas of hell where you find and pick off the evils 1 by one untill they are all dead, ofcourse everything would be way more indepth and have mint quests in it.

If the pigeon had a face shall the man walk a wolf?
hen the stones are destoyed the souls are sent back to hell not destroyed, we must ask ourselves if destroying the stones destroys the soul why did the horadrim bury them instead of destroying them for good, When the stones are destroyed the souls all return to hell
I still have to discredit this theory...the souls do not manifest back in hell after the souls are destroyed....because the soul itself is destroyed so the entire essence of whatever was in the soulstone is gone for good...as for why the horadrim not destroy is because they had no means in which to do so...because the souls can only be destroyed at the hellforge..which is in hell and the portal to hell was only opened by the three once they reunited
