Guilds/Clans and D3

  • #1
There is a really good talk going on in the D3 section about whether or not Guilds/Clans will have some sort of, if any, support system on Battle.net. You can check it out here.

    LamesMcGee had this to say

If there is going to be a system and it supports large guilds, there had better be a DiabloFans guild.

Needless to say my guild Brotherhood of Destruction is definitely going to be active upon the release of D3. Hell, we're active now.

Well, like I said, count me in. You can also count me in for D2 when the new season starts.

Just wondering who else is going to be playing hc when d3 comes out I don't think its going to be easy at least to start with so some fellow BoD members to play with should help. At the moment i'm planning on making barb (male) as main and secondary DH (fem).

I will definitely be more active in the guild come D3. I really hope there is some way to signify what guild we are in in-game. Even if it is just under an "inspect" option of other players.

I've been having fun playing HC in D2, and I'm sure that I will continue in D3. But it won't be right away. I'll try out SC first, just to get a feel of the game. My biggest worry with D3 is if it will be realm specific like Sc2 is and how that will effect BoD. I'm sure it won't effect us that much if at all.

This would be cool. Guild Wars, you wear like a cape that has your guilds logo on it when you are in town. But some way other than putting a tag in your name would be nice.

I'm not sure I want some sort of guild tabard/cape. I never liked it in WoW and it always took away from the look of the character and their armor.

I don't either. But in GW it went away when you actually enter in the game play area. It would, however, come in handy in group pvp.

I will be playing Hard Core right away and if I can adjust the players setting it would be at max.

I would likely be focusing on building up the artisans since I always had better luck with crafting than with finding uniques.

I will also be playing 10 characters right from the start. Male and Female of each class and I will likely be levelling them at the same time.

I hope you will not be excluded from playing other players from other parts of the world.

I will also likely be in a Tournament as well. I have a feeling Metropolis Man at the Phrozen Keep or myself will come up with a tournament when the game launches.

I will likely have my Craftsman Tournament for D3.

Would be good to have a guild/clan marker something to signify your connection maybe an extra tag separate from you char name, with different colour bit like the monsters have.

If the artisans are char specific then I will level a char specifically for them once level'd and artisan quest related stuff is done he wont leave town again.

Will also be playing sc pvp later on once I have got to grips with he game and feel my builds are ready..

That's actually an interesting thought. That would be nice.

It would be great if this site had a European division, i once made a thread discussing this:European Division

Im pretty damn sure that D3 will be like Sc2 where b.net is split into realms and you can only play in the one of the copy you bought.

Anyway, i think these forums have enough European members to form a solid guild. I would be happy if i could join Bod around the time of D3's release.

Yeah, we have a Europe Division. Plan to keep it when D3 comes out as well. And if D3 is location specific like Sc2 is, we'll work around it and figure something out. And you and any and all Europe players are welcome to join BoD at the time of D3's release. :D

I think they will give you options to choose were you want to play.

I do not really see a need to restrict which realm you can play on based on location. It would be just better to have it all in one realm and just use the available servers to serve the game. Since Diablo is not an e-sport.

Yea, so I don't really play D2 anymore except for LAN parties, but I'd definitely want to play with a guild come D3.

And yea, area specific realms would kinda suck in D3. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they ended up being implemented, as both WoW and SC2 have them, but your connection won't be as important as in SC2, so it would at least be plausible.

I distinctly remember you being on the "no LAN D3 is totally OK" side in the LAN discussion :P

    Funny how the world works.

And? I only played SC1 after a few months in through LAN parties and with SC2 I'm still able to the same thing (as in sitting in a room with a group of friends) through B.net. It works fine, and no one's able to play the game through LAN without paying for it like you could with D2.
