You can have multiple auras when equipped on your gear. You just can not have them on the same item. You can have two or more items with the same aura when equipped mod and they will stack except for the Holy Auras(Fire, Shock, Freeze). If more than one Holy Aura of the same type is equipped they will be treated separately and not added together to be a higher level. The adding up the levels for an Aura is only between the items on the character or the merc. If both the character and the merc has that aura then the one that has the highest level will be active. If the character or Merc has the Aura active as a skill and is then using an Aura when equipped the level would be whichever one is higher level.
Many Veteran ES players choose items that have Aura when Equipped mod on them. Especially summoners. Common Mercs for them is either the Act 2 Prayer Merc and the Act 2 Might Merc. There are few items/runewords that have an aura when equipped that get boosted from Prayer or Might.
One problem if you play multiplayer is that there is a crash that is called the Passive Stat bug. If you have over 27 passive stats it will cause a crash in multiplayer, most likely for the other player. Active Auras, Skill Masteries and skills that are passive make up a Passive Stat. Tsuru added some tricks to make it less likely to crash.
I did some testing for Tsuru a long time ago on the Passive Stats.

If you are looking for an Elite set or Elite Unique you can do the base upgrade of the lower version of the unique or set and with three of them you can then do the change to a set or unique.
ty hans for the info. hey is it possible to break cold immunes, i have winter orb (-25%) and if i used the offensive barb with ancients call or whatever would i be able to damage them???
The best method is the Arch Dimmeran Gemword in 4 socket helm. You will have it as an oskill. You would be limited to using your main skills on the left mouse button.
Do you have secret scroll #2 or is it #3. With that scroll you can convert a magic armor to a normal item. Then you can use the socket donut with that item along with 4 gems the grade of gems will depend on the item.

It depends on the situation. Any of the curses that increase the damage of the summons is good.
Amplify Damage has the best damage % but no other benefits.
It also depends on what kind of summon build you are using. The Cindermancer is based on Hydra and the Vamps. Lower Resist would be the curse in question.

I am trying to make the runeword memory in a mana blade but cant seem to get a mana blade to have 3 sockets. I dont know why it isnt working i used a socket donut and everything and everytime i can only get 2 so if any clearification on that would be great.
Secondly, how does one go about getting a socketed charm or socketing a charm. Is there any runewords or recipes for this. Thanks all.

Not sure about the mana blade.
It might be that you have to use a higher grade gem (as per the recipe on Scroll #16), but it's also possible that you can't get three sockets on a mana blade. I don't use them, so I'm not familiar with whatever socketing limits there might be for them.
You could try Larzuk, as well.

Secret Scrolls #45-49 have the recipes for socketing charms.
