Well I can't image more than 20 will be needed then.
DiabloWiki.com - PlugY PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

    Block calculator added!

    Edit~

Erp, almost forgot- I fixed that data association error, apples.

Question: why do you have the bars go up to 100% when the max is 75/25%? I think it'd be much easier to see if the bars were simply filled at 75/25%.

Also, perhaps add a button to add the block percentage on some common shields?

I did it that way to stress how much of a chance you don't have to block without having to state it specifically. That's an easy fix, though.

That's doable. My only concern is that it could get very complicated... Are there any shields with variable % to block modifiers? Like, say, a unique?

Spirit ward is the only one, all other shields, including runewords, have set block values. Though with runewords you'd have to specify a base item as well.

    Precisely. That's my concern

Edit-- Idea. I can have a box, right, and they can just type in their shield name, right, and then that opens as a link to the shield's page in a new tab to the wiki. Can just look it up themselves. That would make it a little easier.
  • #47
That's not going to be all that hard though is it?

Somewhere on the page have a list of shields,, their names in the left column and their block values in the right column. These can be wikilinked if someone wants more information. This list can include al shields, both normal and unique.

For Spirit Ward, simply have the right column show an interval.

Runewords are a little more problematic, but are doable. For example, runewords could be included in the same list, however when moused over, the block values of the normal shields which they can be inserted into could become colored blue, while the shields that are incompatible with said runeword would be greyed out. It would be extremely simple I think.

You would however need to tic a box somewhere stating which class you play, as the block values vary depending on class.

Exactly. And then I have a clusterfuck* of a GUI and five hundred more lines of code. Custom logic would need to be programmed for Spirit Ward and then additionally for each runeword, and then additionally for each character. I would need nearly an entire item database to get this simple information.

I don't really think it's worth it when you can just go to the wiki, search for the item, and pop the block percentage into the calc that you guys already provide so completely and generously. I guess if I see it's getting an immense amount of web traffic in analytics, I'll consider more user-friendly functionality. But, as far as I can see, there isn't a block calculator out there that goes much beyond what I did. (http://diablo3.ingame.de/tips/calcs/block.php, http://www.baronsbazaar.invisionzone.com/ppr/block_calc.html)

I'm trying to think of a midway point, though, between reinventing the entire inventory system in our web browsers and getting the information to users.

    * Nothing personal. I just like that colloquialism :hammy:

    Oh none taken.

Can you just include like a textbox with just a bunch of links? Ieamn you'd really only have to link to DiabloWiki.com - Shields (Diablo II) Shields (Diablo II), DiabloWiki.com - Unique Shields (Diablo II) Unique Shields (Diablo II) and DiabloWiki.com - List of Shield Runewords List of Shield Runewords.

i dont see any issue with %block modifiers since you do have the %block input box. however, you might want to separate base %block from +%block modifiers (HS, GAngel). i have a link to someone else's calculators, i think they are pretty accurate so lmk if u want that link ;)

Yes, I saw that other calcs were built like that. I can do that.

    Update

Clicking on a link from a search will now take you to the guide's profile on Firebolt. I plan to add some more features to this area, but it essentially lets you preview the guide in Firebolt without leaving the site (the guide's website still gets traffic because of the mechanics of iFrames). (See Screenshot)

This feature has been tested in the latest stable versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

    Coming for this Feature

    -Show guide's keywords on profile.
-Allow report guide function from profile (currently on search results.)
-Show guides with related keywords (sorted by number of related keywords and then number of hits.)
-Provide banner image from profile that can be posted anywhere to advertise each guide.

    Other Updates

The search results now have less clutter. Removed total hits (moved to guide profiles). Got rid of some excess verbiage.

Riiiight. So, I discovered something dandy. Some sites have iFrame protection, meaning that they don't want their web pages to be displayed on another web page through the usage of frames. Three hours later, I've finally nailed down a solution. IncGamers was the culprit here. So, any links to IncGamers or any of its subsidiary Diablo sites will come up with an error in place of where the page preview would normally go:

It shouldn't otherwise affect any functionality with guide profiles. *phew*

(I was tempted and am fully capable of bypassing this silly security they have, but if they don't want this to be possible, I guess I should respect that wish.)

    Edit---

AHA! And now there's yet ANOTHER bug with the patch I made to fix the original one. *sigh*

    Could be fun

I can't actually look very closely at your project atm 'cause I'm inbetween games, but I like doing logo stuff <3

Edit: Ok I actually took a look at your thing, seems like a cool idea :)

Anything specific you're looking for, or should we just go nuts?

If I played D2 anymore that would be a god send! Great job on it! I really look forward to the D3 version ;)

Give me some preferences for this logo, any things you want it to be based around, colors, text, size any details.

I just actually finished the rough version of the logo for a lifeguard company I'm partnered in. Which btw I'm super pumped about, I can legitimately say I'm a VP in a business at 21 years old B). We've been working on paperwork all winter and just became official with the fed, and state! Already have 6 employees~

    Here's the logo if you're curious~

    COSR Logo

It's supposed to represent a few things, a watchful eye on you, the ocean, the red cross and life saver meaning safety.

That's the MS paint version lol.. Trial of CS5 ran out, time to move to my household's computer and start a new trial :)

Anywho, yeah let me know what you want out of your logo.

What do you think of this? (Look below for my updated concept)...
  • #59
Oh man, I gotta post my most recent logo job then, so I seem EQUALLY professional.

    Sassafrass Ranch Logo

It looks a little rough in places 'cause for some reason they decided to upload the ridiculously high resolution version to their site and it scales down funny in-browser, not because I'm not awesome.

Also, my fake business card logo I made for pretending like I was legit at GDC:

    I AM SO LEGIT BRO.

Edit: AUGH, people are already posting their submissions!? I AM ALWAYS BEHIND.

For good logo design simplicity is the key. You want something people are going to remember, easily recognisable at a glance. I think Jetrall's is good for a rough draft.
