Do note that when breaking immunities, lower resist effects only work at 1/5th of their actual capacity. There will still be creatures immune even if you use Lower Resist + Conviction (Hell Oblivion Knight has 180 Cold Resist, so it would take 81*5=405 lower cold resist to make cold actually hurt him.
Still, giving a creature with 50 resist -10 instead really helps killing stuff.
Bump for Necromancers! I would like to see some other interesting builds. And btw, I checked out that Bone Wall / Bone Prison synergy mechanic. Thanks for the tip!
Outta some of the popular builds, my favorite is the Bone Spear based build.
20 Bone Spear
20 Bone Spirit
20 Bone Prison
20 Bone Wall
20 Teeth
1 Bone Armor

It's straight forward, and simple.
Stats:
Strength - Enough for gear (minimum base value of 75)
Dexterity - Nothing (Unless you are going for max block)
Vitality - Every other level (What is Bone Armor for?)
Energy - Every other level (I live dangerously in Hell)
First, you alternate Strength and Vitality, with Strength starting. Once you hit a base of 75 strength, put the points into energy. You need a large mana pool for the massive amount of Bone Spears.
Suggestions for wands are easy, look for Bone Spear. Other skills such as teeth won't help Bone Spear. Points to Poison and Bone skills will work.

Yeah, I am actually rolling a Bone Necro right as we speak. I made him a pretty pimp White wand and I've got a couple of Boneshades on standby for when I reach the level requirements. He is pretty powerful thus far, at about level 42. The only qualms I have with this build is the lack of extra skill points. I like to have most of the curses, though I think I will stop at Decrepify and maybe use the Trang set gloves for the +2 to curses. Other than the bonus to curses, it is hard to justify wearing the Trangs. What gloves do you recommend? Or what gear set do you recommend for that matter? Thanks guys!
But I don't have a build for it. As Venom says, it's just use what you find. My necro used an Ancient Plate with 24% FHR and two perfect skulls for the entirety of Nightmare. I found Duriel's Shell, which is an exceptional armour. Made it unique using the cube and it is DIVINE: high resistances, high defence and cannot be frozen.
Also, basically all my gear is +res. Bone armor apparently only absorbs physical damage, so gloams are still freaking deadly.
I find decripify to be incredibly helpful. Together with Bone Wall/Prison it stops pretty much everything. Mud golem is a nice distraction and also slows stuff down. I've never actually used confuse and the like to great effect, so I can't talk about those curses.
Also Decripify/Amp Damage together with Corpse Explosion is really cool. Use the bone walls to keep the enemies together and you can get a cool chain reaction going.
I was never a fan of corpse explosion. To get some decent resists, I would suggest a 4 socketed shield with 4 um's put into it to get 88 resist all. Throw on an ammy, two rings, charms, and other accessories and you could potentially get 75 or more on all resists in hell. The more part would have to deal with items that increase your resist caps.

That build will get weak towards the end of the game in hell, unless you have some GODLY gear. Even then, your damage still won't be that high.
New to this forum and this is my very first post. To me, that looks like an awesome build I can work out of. Sixen, or anyone that can help, can you please list which skills should I put skills in every time I level? I want to know when to distribute my skill points and where for maximum performance. Thanks!
This is a rather standard summonancer build. These are the general points you want to keep in mind:
Start by getting 3 or 4 skeletons. Max out skeletal mastery before you start maxing raise skeleton and skeletal mage; the numerical bonuses provide far larger increases in damage and survivability to begin with than the percentage increases of the raise skeleton. Max raise skeleton before skeletal mage after that.
Ignore Poison and Bone Spells until late nightmare, you only need it once you start to encounter physical immune monsters in Act 1 hell, before then the only physical immunes you will encounter are unique monsters that you can run away from: Immune Monsters (Diablo II)
Put one point in the curses when you get to those levels.
Go with either corpse explosion or poison nova first so you have them at decent levels by the time you enter Hell.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Back when I was hardcore into d2 I made all necro builds, my fave was always the psn nova necro. The best thing about psn nova necs is using revives in my opinion. I don't know how many times I'll be pvping and the other player would arrogantly make fun of summoner necs, then would prance over and I'll just nova them and then a second later they'll be dead haha. And I know this is a cheap move, but in pvp if you're battling say a fire sorc, you just get revives that are immune to fire, and then when you teleport they stack on top of you, so you yourself basically become immune to fire. Also, I remember the times when I would just go off and get 20+ souls from near baal and that coupled with infinity from merc + lower resist it was always fun when sometimes my souls alone would kill other players (or at least finish them off).
I always used the max dweb + enigma option + fire golem for pvp, only because teleport is so valuable with pvp, but with pvm bramble and clay golem is a awesome combo. Or even better making iron golems out of insights for pvm, but if you were wealthy (and crazy) it was always fun making them out of beast zerkers or something like that just to give your merc more auras.
For an ideal pvp psn nec you'll want a ridiculous circlet (i.e. +fcr +nec skills +res (2 soc *drools*) and +fcr +res +skill ammy (which I think the ones you want were always duped). And then keep a maras and shako in stash for prebuffing cta. Also it was always cool to keep a last wish in stash for the fade prebuff. +whatever other prebuffs you liked. And then engima, perf dweb, perf spirit, rings usually 1x fcr ring to reach fcr bp or sojs but can switch depending on what type of build you're battling. arachnids, and eth treks or even better shanks. Then just life skillers or fhr skillers for fhr bp and anni + torch. = very fun to pvp with :-)
The poison necs only 2 weaknesses in dueling were those barbs with insane amounts of life who would stack insane amounts of poison res and wear items that cut down poison duration which would result it almost no dmg. And gg wind druids who also had high life and strong res + lots of minions. But that's what I love about diablo, the pvp is like rock, paper, scissor. You always have advantages over some builds but disadvantages over others.
After they nerfed the Blood Golem + Iron Maiden and Amp Damage + Corpse Explosion build I usually stayed with Bone spells strictly for PvP. I tried a Novamancer on several occasions but never really fell in love with it and never played Summoner beyond level 12 for niche PvP.
The best part was going in to the cow level, casting Bone Prison or Bone Wall and hear the hostile sound several times because it would ruin the mob density and often meant crowded portals. I really loved to stir the pot back in the day...
Still, giving a creature with 50 resist -10 instead really helps killing stuff.

Went back to D2.
I hope the build is ok for patch 1.14d as well?
Thank you boss :O)
