i looked at the sticky here, but it seems outdated, about 4 years old. the Summonmancer there sounds godlike, 100k damage from one skeleton? granted, the necro's skills were nerfed since then, but would be cool to try it out anyway. i also have a huge list of D2 builds that i got from dii.net and some from Strategy Compendium. Those are years old, too. So i was wondering if anyone can recommend up-to-date builds where i can almost easily solo against the Ubers.
I played maybe a Frenzy Dual Sword Barb, and had about 25% base life steal when i soloed against Lilith, but failed miserably. my resists were either 75 or 85, yet her poison attacks were too devastating.
it seems like that build is far weaker in terms of damage output. decrepify and dim vision don't give the skels more damage. it would take far too long to kill monsters and uniques in hell with those curses.
what about the druid? would he be able to solo against ubers better than the summonmancer?
Decrepify does exactly the same as Amplify damage, -100% physical resistance of affected creatures i.e. double skeleton damage. It also slows down monsters, and makes them deal less damage.
Dim Vision is just an useful tool for separating hordes of monsters. You only use it on mobs you aren't killing right now, and to make ranged creatures not attack.
Also get a nightmare offense act 2 mercenary for a might aura.
Melee characters are the best for Tristram.
Even with all this, any boss with area of effect (AoE) Damage, would just utterly annihilate your army of skeletons?
Plus even though a Boss is slowed down, he still has cast speed for spells... Unless that is affected as well?

Decrepify has the added bonus of slowing down the enemy, and reducing their damage, which can be very helpful against bosses that would otherwise chew through your skeletal army. (Unless you run around with +40 in skeletons, but you need some good gear for that.)

From a summoning perspective, the Druid is far weaker than the Necro, for a number of reasons.
He can't have as many summons, and unlike skeletons, who benefit from a lvl 20+ skeleton mastery, +skills won't increase the druid summons nearly as much, since the animals give each other bonuses through synergies. Since synergies only work for hard points investerd, that means that once your bear is lvl 20, even if you get +50 in Grizzly, the damage bonus the grizly gives to the wolves will only work as if he was lvl 20. Same for the wolves the other way around.
You also cannot have as many as the necro, and lack of curses is a very big handicap as well.

Actually it's -50%, but the difference rarely matters unless you need to break an immunity. The main bonus I find of using Amplify is most of the time the longer duration, meaning you don't have to recast as often.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
if you do end up making a pally for uber smiting, i can help u with this, i uber almost every day, and i have 13 organ sets left ifu ever wanna come with me on non ladder east
phrozen, i knew that. i was just trying to think up builds to solo against the ubers. most people say melee characters are best, and the werewolf druid is a melee char.
right now i'm trying a feral rage druid, i'll see how that goes against Uber Andy.
nice, the druid is starting to become a real tank. i still need to choose between a might merc and holy freeze merc

what items have life tap?
is there a searchable database of items where i can search for which items have life tap?
http://www.diablofans.com/gallery/album/42189/125-wallpapers/
20 skele mast
20 skele
20 mages
20 revives
1 summon resists
1 bone armor
1 corpse exp
1 in fire golem
wouldn't summon resists in hell be fairly useless? what about amplify damage or life tap or any of the curses?
