I hoped for a higher resolution where they just drew the many monsters and items with more detail. Rather then expanding the area. Surely they could have done that in this time. D:
I guess I'll keep playing it windowed then.
Once again, resizing ever graphic in the game isn't about just resizing; it's about remaking. They were originally made for 600x480, however scaled up to 800x600 it still worked. But buttons, monsters, animations, characters, props... Every graphic would have to be remade to have a true resizing. And there's no way in hell Blizzard would ever go through with a project such as that. It's not profitable, and it might be close to impossible for Blizzard to accomplish at this considering the age of the game and the amount of original creators who have left Blizzard since launch.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I'm kinda pissed that there isn't going to be new "end game content". But that still leaves the rest of the game open for content additions. I doubt it though.
but I always thought it would be annoying because your character and items on the ground would be very tiny. I mean, look at the jump from 640x480 to 800x600.
Not sure what you mean about the jump... but an increase of resolution to me means everything is still the same we just see farther. So nothing is very tiny. I guess you play fullscreen so everything looks big on your computer but if you window it you get the real actual detail, which doesn't change with increased resolution.
Sounds like Blizzard programmers need some lessons about program design if changing stuff like aggro is a problem.

You will notice, Equinox, that I retracted my post about three or so above yours, here.

I didn't think you retracted your post, all I see is you saying "nice". I just found it really weird you regarded increase in resolution as decrease in size of things, which wasn't addressed neither in the post you replied to nor in the post you replied to it with.
If modders could do it in a few months, I don't really see at this point why Blizzard couldn't do it.
Modders simply adjusted the resolution of the game. They did not create new spirtes and terrian tiles or whatever you wanna call em for the resolution.
The problem I see with pulling back the pov is that most of the screen would be black in many cases. Fixing that would require increasing light radius which I doubt they would do. Plus they would have to increase the targeting distance for monsters so that they could defend themselves from players at long range(this would cause problems for people who cant use the higher res, think about it). On top of that it would make the game easier since you would be able to predict ahead of time what kind of enemies you would encounter.
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.

And, which mod is that, anyway?

Im sure they could but the question is are they willing to spend the time and resources in doing so? The answer is almost certainly no
