I have mixed feelings about Act 4. Aesthetically, I actually think it's really cool. But I know a lot of people expected it to be more dazzling because it's Hell. But I liked the idea that some areas of hell really are just these desolate plains with lost souls trapped randomly here and there.
But I do hate a lot of the monsters in Act 4. Especially those demon vagina things that spawn the little wyrms. Or the damn leapers, as if they weren't annoying enough in Act 2. Or Souls. Who doesn't hate the Burning Souls.
Forge and Izual were great quests though with some of the best rewards the game had to offer.
I do think they should've spruced up the Chaos Sanctuary more though. It really did just look like some run of the mill cathedral. If you're gonna have tons of blood and gore like in the first Diablo, this might have been a good place to put some.

It has some good experience, and it's fun. The leapers make me want to slam my head against the table though..it takes each one of those fuckers 5 spears for 1 to hit them. It pisses me off..
Oof, and the maggots that spawn the baby maggots. More annoying creatures from Act 2. But apparently it's justified as long as you change their color.
Diablo's death was kind of anti-climatic for me to. Sure his actual death was kind of neat, but then he just lied there and the music was barely audible, more ambient. Everything around you is quiet and empty.
Yeah, such bullshit is such a bad waste of my Mana. It's sad how they kept on changing their colors. I mean, if they were just in Act II, I could live with that. They just kept dragging them on in acts III, IV, and V. For fuck's sake, at least have them leap less :\
Lol, I know. I'd be standing there, thinking "well..I pretty much ass mauled their plan to conquer and destroy, and now The Lord of Terror is dead..and..well..umm..what the hell ??". I guess one has to disregard such flaws, and move on.
It actually shows. It had so much potential. It's like premature ejaculation; if you had more time, it would've been better for both parties, y'know? They blew it up..it could have been far more superior, and far more entertaining than it already is. It also pisses me off how they screwed over the Succubus..
I picked Act III. Why? Because I love South American cultures, and the architecture and practices of the residences most closely, in my opinion, mirrored it. I loved it once I got to the Bazaar- you started to see the stonework and masonry everywhere, tons of sacrificial altars like those that were rampant in their real-life counterpart. I also like how long, twisting, and color-saturated the jungles preceding it were, like a real jungle would feel.
Although, I think that would have been a good act to have more than one town in. Oh well.
I had heard though about Act 4 that they were in fact kind of rushing to get it done.
In my opinion, it shows... I've always found it weird how every act has 6 quests but Act 4... I admit Izual and Hellforge were cool quests but if Blizzard spent a little extra time on them and the environment of Act 4, they could've made it an insanely cool act.
The poll seems ... off. How could the technically worst act have the most votes?
Meh. I would have thought people'd like act 1 and 5. I voted 5, but it was a split between 5 and 1. I love the new monsters in 5, along with the new scenery ( I still love that view when you stand close to edge when fighting ancients) and act 1 music and quests were great.

Id say act 4 is getting most votes cuz when people rush/rushing its only tele to Diablo and your onto A5 LOL

I think you're right... People are choosing this act just because it's fast and easy to get rushed through... They aren't thinking of the content and environment of the other 4 acts...
I enjoyed Act 2 the most. It was a really long act, and that's when you really started getting your more powerful skills. I loved the undead tombs, and I loved the desert life. The scenery was really sweet, with downed ruins and various plants. I also felt that Duriel was a very suitable boss to end the act. He was super tough, and super vicious.
Oh and meeting Tyrael for the first time was pretty sweet.
Indeed. Act 2 is very climatic for sure. And right around then you get your level 12 skills. I was way more intimidated by Duriel than Diablo when I first say him. A huge fuck off maggot looking demon with claws bigger than his head. He taunts you, freezes you, and runs after you really fast.
And seeing Tyrael for the first time was stunning. While whole speech about Tal Rasha, the Soulstones, and the Horadrim was great because so often you seem in the dark about the events happening around you. And then you see this powerful being who gives you all this accurate information all at once. It was great.
Lets not forget the Arcane Sanctuary, either! It was just a bloody mess that usually helped you achieve your even more powerful level 18 skills. That is if you stayed in Act 2 long enough
The music in Arcane Sanctuary is excellent ambient music. It felt like fantasy meets science fiction. And I loved any time you came across a narrated book. Very reminiscent of Diablo 1.
its definitely act 4 for me. I loved to kill stuff in the Chaos Sanctuary with my necro and raise them back to life. Diablo was more of a pain in the ass, but nothing a good bone spirit couldnt handle!
but i mean the environment in act 4 is kinda lame... are people picking act 4 just because of diablo?
