well if you look at the lore of diablo... duriel is a very tough demon. he is one of the demons that fought against the prime evils to imprison them and succeded... so he should be just as tough as any of the Prime Evils... now when the brothers were freed they pretty much enslaved Duriel into guarding tal rashas tomb... which means this dude is pissed lol so he is really really angry when he sees anyone lol

"Always respect the purity of battle. For only in the heart of combat are all pretenses of nobility and quality stripped away, replaced by survival and death."
but if your a barb amazon assassin and debateably a sorc (she crushes any boss with static field)
and another debateable is druid depending on his build he can annihilate baal if hes a wolf or bear
but he runs like a bitch if hes a spell caster or summoner xD
but as a summoner duriel is considerably easier on nightmare due to having thorns of some kind
note: damage return rapes duriel
He's annoying for virtually any character in Normal. He isn't a problem in Nightmare or Hell. My Bonemancer took him out in 40 seconds in Hell. I killed him in Normal with my Concentrate Barbarian..I stood there and beat him up, consuming 9 full rejuvs.
I really didn't understand your post that well because it wasn't coherent enough..if you can rephrase it, writing it better..it would be great.
I always did well against Duriel with my Paladin either solo or in a party by using the Resist Cold aura (I am an Avenger, so I have points invested in the resists anyway to boost my Vengeance's damage output).
I always thought that if you're playing with the Barbarian, it is always a good idea to close up on him, because he's not that dangerous if he's close! But as soon as you start to move away, he could kill you with his Charge attack in a single blow!
That's why melee characters (with well distributed skill points, and with a good chr. level in Normal mode) handle him better than ranged/magic dependent characters. As I said though, passed Normal mode, he's an easy little kitten.
